Family stay with three rooms for several nights of a long weekend in Clarens.
The location on the main square simply can't be bettered. Steps away from the Highlander restaurant, Grouse and Claret pub, etc.
Great staff , very friendly and flexible around arrangements such as arriving late etc , and rooms spotlessly cleaned each day.
Water replaced in fridges, wood stacked in the fireplace of each room, every day. Really impressive attention to detail.
Highly recommended.

They hotel room was comfortable and location of hotel was excellent. However we did feel a little isolated as the hotel could do more to make the stay more inviting. The mere fact that it was mid week and very quiet does not mean they do not have to put out the deck area tables and chairs and umbrellas for customer to sit and enjoy the view.

Red Mountain is slap bang on the town square, so you can't get closer to the local shops, restaurants and attractions. The rooms are quiet, peaceful and extremely neat and clean, with beautiful views out over the mountains from the balcony. The service is super-friendly, with Jessica going out of her way to accommodate our need for an early check-in. Highly recommended.

Neat and cozy. The bathroom is equipped with both shower tub. The heater in the bathroom however did not work.
There is also floor heating which makes the room substantially warmer. There was no electric blankets(which was fine because the floor heating kept the room warm) there is also a fire place which is well stocked with wood.

Other amenities including dstv, a fridge and tiny kettle.

You are restricted in terms of the wifi to if I'm not mistaken 1000mb × the number of nights you stay.

There is no secure parking for vehicles. The no gate or fence made me quite nervous. We opted to park at the back of the accomodation and had the tedious task of dragging our luggage up two sets of stairs.

This place does not offer breakfast which is okay because there are restaurants downstairs.

It is worth its price.

Disappointing.
Not rated as a 4 star establishment by SA Tourism. False advertising! Website says bed & breakfast, there is no breakfast service.
WiFi access is by voucher and capped at 1000MiB for 2 days. Tiny flat screen TV. Noisy old fan, no aircon.

The room was clean, warm and cozy. The underfloor heating and fireplace was a special treat. We were able to visit all the shops, restaurants and pubs and be back in our room in under 2 minutes from anywhere. We will definately stay here again!

An excellent place to stay if you want to be within walking distance of shops and restaurants. However, because it is located directly above such places, it is not as quiet as places on the outskirts of town. That said, we really enjoyed our stay. Rooms are comfortable, with good beds and convenient bathrooms. The self-catering unit is especially pleasant, because it has a balcony overlooking the mountains , with a braai area. Reception is helpful and pleasant. Parking is on the street and no meals are included.

I was greeted by a very friendly lady at reception and was taken immediately to my room.
The room was very very clean and tidy.
The coffee station was sufficient.
The Hotel is situated right in the middle of town so all you have to do is pop out your door and into the vibe.
I definitely will stay there again.

Spontaneous booking for an overnight in Clarens. The room was very clean with all required amenities and in the centre of town, so close to everything. Friendly service. However, very noisy at night and the toilet also quite noisy, otherwise comfortable and met our needs.

Excellent position on the central town square. Rooms had a nice view of the mountains and was clean and comfortable.
Scenery in Clarence area absolutely beautiful and loads to see and do.
Recommend visit during weekends, as the town is very quiet during the week.
