Hotel is ideally placed and withing easy walking distance of most of the attractions, restaurants places of interest. generally the service is great and staff very friendly. I have two requests to management. Please reconsider your DSTV bouquet. The programs is really boring. Furthermore, although the quality of the food is great, the choice of food for a buffet dinner was very limited, even compared to other Protea Hotels.

The hotel is arguably the best hotel in the area. I stayed there for 2 nights with my wife and 2 year old baby. The service was amazing and the staff members were always ready to assist with whatever necessary at any given time, Lefa and the big guy(forgot his name) at the restaurant side were particularly amazing, always paying attention to detail.

Also the idea of having the basin outside the toilet is really a good one, it makes once not to feel like they're using bathroom water as it is with many other hotel.

My only disappointment was the breakfast, for a 4 star hotel I would expect more variety of food available for breakfast, I have been to a few 3 star hotels which offered better breakfast variety than what was offered here. The food is great but there is really limited options of what to eat on a daily basi which can be frustrating, mostly for long duration stays, so some improvement in variety of breakfast choices would go a long way. I would have like to see some cake, ice cream and all that, mostly because also that was a new year's weekend during my stay there.

Stayed for one night only. Good food and great service.

Rooms are super clean and bed good comfort level.

I will recommend for sure if traveling.

Will definitely visit again if in the area. I would rather stay with this franchise brand than with local accommodation that was a major issue when booking

Really can't fault the hotel. Staff was friendly, breakfast service was smooth, rooms were clean and comfy and full adherence to covid guidelines.

The location of the hotel made it easy for us to walk all over town and enjoy the many restaurants and art shops on offer.

Compliments to all staff.

R3000 per night for a room with the shower right next to the bed is insane. The pictures are intentionally deceptive since you have to swipe past 17 pictures before the show one with the shower. Lesson learned!

Still the same clean perfect spot for touring the national park
Food was ok 7 out of 10
Breakfast not so grand .but this due to covid 19 restrictions.
Still suggest the mountain view rooms
The extra large ones got slightly more space than the standard mountain view.
Bathroom layout is also better in the extra large room.
Staff are great .

We stayed at this hotel for a family member's birthday weekend. The hotel is located right at the beginning of the town in the main road, and so it is easy to walk to all of the shops and restaurants.

Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good, with enough options for everyone's taste. The bar tender made good cocktails and was willing to mix up different cocktails to what was on the menu, which was very nice.

The room was neat and clean and had everything one needs in a standard hotel room. The bed was comfortable to sleep in.

The area by the swimming pool is nice to sit by and read a book. The children enjoyed swimming in the pool.

We stayed during the renovation. Unfortunately on check in we were given a room right above the construction area. The elevator was not working. Fortunately when we went down to get our bags Kananelo was on the front desk. Such a happy welcoming man with a great smile. He helped us get our bags and offered to bring them to our room via the service elevator. When he heard our room number he immediately offered to relocate us for which we were most grateful. He is a great asset to your front desk area.
Breakfast as always was in abundance.
There was a cold and a hot area offered every day along with a chef making omelettes etc.
Caldin interacted very pleasantly and even enquired how our hike had been the previous day.
A nice “family style” hotel. The staff for the most part are really friendly and very helpful.

spent a night at the Protea hotel and it was much better value for money than some of the other venues in the price range. Although the room was not huge it was cozy and could accommodate two people. The slightly off center TV was a bit strange but ok. The food in the restaurant was good and the portions generous. The hotel and restaurant also adapted well to cOVID-19 measures especially for breakfast. Wifi is good and reliable. The hotel has great views in articular from the dining and pool area, however only some rooms have a mountain view. There is a shortage of undercover parking though.

Please see to it that you never get room 103 a disgrace to stay in.
After complaining about the tv remote not working, smell in the toilet and a safe that is broken room 109 nothing was done. Front desk manager Daniel has no clue what the word hospitality means, he must get another job. After phoning twice and request on bookings.com for rooms to be next to each other needless to say it did not happen.See opinions of other guest this hotel will soon close.(unfortunate reduction in standards) please take note and do something !

I am positive the pool will be open and would be swimmable, however, with the cold spell be having currently it might be rather on the colder side, but with a warm day over your stay it would be very refreshing.
