Staff are friendly and the rondavels were very comfortable, with excellent bedding and showers. But the location next to a main road with 24-h accessibility is a problem. The rest camp is not closed off and there was no sign of security staff, so anyone can enter the rest camp. Noise from day visitors and loud music from vehicles is common. The rest camp shop is dark and lacks any informative material on the park. Disappointing.

Spacious cottages with good heating element in the main bedroom. Easily dry our clothes near the heater. There is a microwave, too. It was a quiet evening and we had a shared meal in the communal room with our group. This location is at altitude, 7200 feet(2190 meters) so if you are breathing hard to get up the hill to your cottage, it is the altitude NOT your fitness. The premises appeared tended to.

We had a really good time. Although Easter weekend and busy, the ablusions were neat, easy accessible and serviced daily.
Electricity points worked perfect and lots of shade.
Maybe some access control to the camp can be recommended, we had a safe and pleasurable stay

What is disgrace.
Travel from Gauteng to enjoy a weekend...booked in advance.
What did we get a fantastic fully working construction site.
No electricity.
No security.
Long grass.
No choice to leave and look for another camp.
Now SANPARKS head office query why we didn't speak to the manager????
For what??
He knows everything about the above.
Campers, let this camping site pass for now...

Good for a one night midway stop but not a relaxing getaway as the camp site is located directly off the road and you hear road traffic day and night. Ablutions we’re clean, although maintenance has clearly slipped.
Management do not enforce “no loud music” at the camp site.

while we were here for the weekend….they never advised us beforehand that Construction is ongoing at the camp site, excavators and dump truck until 5:30pm on Saturday.

Chose this self catering chalet close to the town of Clarens. Good Covid 19 safety precautions taken. No servicing during this period which I think is good. Clean, neat and reasonably priced. Various types of accommodation to choose from. I chose the luxury chalet which is excellent. Hotel accommodations is also available

The scenery and drive to the Vulture Hide as well as the afternoon light on the Golden Gate Arches is amazing. The bungalow accommodation was very simple but clean. Not much room to move but there is a lovely hotel nearby with excellent restaurant for dinner.

Spent a night at glen reenen campsite in our maui motorhome. Check in was easy. Ablution facilities were basic but clean. Braai stands were available. Very peaceful. Beware of the monkey invasion early morning.

Glen Reenen is a beautiful campsite at the foot of the mountain, with lots of large trees. The amblution blocks were cleen and always had enough hot water. Also nice kitchen facilities with 2 plate stoves. The hiking trails are well marked and takes you through beautiful scenery. Definitely not to be missed!! The shop stock all the basics, from firewood and ice cream to meat and beer. The only downside was that every camping spot does not have braai facilities and those that do need a bit of maintanance. The staff at reception was also not overly friendly and helpfull. But overall we had a very nice stay.

I had occasion to camp here in December. It was the hottest time of the year but I was looking forward to my stay. I booked in and was told to "set up" anywhere on the camp site. I drove around and although I had booked a site with electricity no electrical points were vacant. I had to use the laundry room plug to "hook up". Why are they charging you for electricity when no points are available ? No checks were done to see who paid for what and many campers took up 2 or 3 sites with their tents, trailers and cars!
The one site left offered no shade for my tent ! No sites were marked out making it difficult to see who was supposed to be where.
The ablution floors were always wet and the shower heads needed attention and cleaning.
Half of the camp site was under construction for the new "museum". Why didn't they advise campers of lack of sites !
The road next to the camp was frequented by noisy revellers at night with the car radios blaring !
The shop offered nothing really....liquor and a few tinned goods and cosmetics !
Wake up SA Parks. This used to be a nice place to camp !
