We loved in the new Lavender cottages. Beautiful self catering with the basic amenities to cook with. But, who wants to cook while away in Clarens. The restaurants there are all great. It's pet friendly but here is a tip. They use the most stunning Egyptian cotton bedding. So, if you take dogs with maybe take some blanket to put over the Egyptian cottage bedding. Mud paws, dog hair and all. Wolfgang was most welcoming. We left the dogs at the cottage while being out the first time. He gave us a friendly call just to say the dogs are going berserk. They can't stay further than 30 cm from mommy. We just went to collect them as all the restaurants are pet friendly. The room is clean and tidy with coffee and tea maybe just take a bigger milk with. Well be back as the price was very reasonable for what you get. TIPS FOR ALL LOCAL TRAVELLERS NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO. When you book please look for the venue's own website. If you book through bookings or safari. com, they take 25 percent of the price you pay. That is very hefty for small business owners. Rather book direct.

We stayed in the lavender cottage. it has two big bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms. open plan kitchen & lounge, tv & dish. We were 6 people. It was a short but great break away. you look at the mountains & green valleys, it is breath taking. just far enough out side of busy business area to relax with the comfort of nature with the luxury of the business area close by. My childen (both below 6 years) enjoyed it and we all just wish we could have stayed there a few days longer. Will recommend it to everyone, great place.Thank you Wolfgang for all making our stay a great one!!

We stayed in Lavender Cottage, which is is a large one room plus shower, perfect for two or a family of four. Close to location so you can hear "township" noises at night, which may keep light sleepers awake. We felt safe and had all we needed. Flat-screen TV and DSTV with Sports channels was great! Collett House caters for 6 people.
