We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed by Minda and the unit was ready when we arrived and found lovely brownies when we entered. Our kids loved the animals, the herb/veggie garden and playing on the lawns. The herb/veggie garden would inspire any keen gardener. The nearby tasting room included goats milk cheeses for tasting and buying as well as pancakes and other simple treats. Also provided in the cost were braai (barbeque) briquettes and firelighters and we enjoyed a little braai in our own sectioned off garden. We would highly recommend Baris guesthouse.

This must be the neatest, cleanest, most well equipped and really pleasant establishment that we have stayed in for a very long time. The units have everything you need for a self catered stay, however generous braai packs and breakfasts are available at extra cost if needed. The farm's goat herd provides cheeses made on site which are served in the coffee shop which is located in the beautiful garden. Ample scenic walking opportunities. Minda and Jaco are excellent hosts. If you are looking for accommodation in the Clarens area we highly recommend a stay at Baris.

We had a wonderful stay at Baris Guesthouse. Our unit was beautifully furnished, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The attention to detail was amazing - from the homemade brownies to the folded face cloths. Our little boy loved playing in the stunning and tranquil gardens outside, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

With other stops on the road closed on a Tuesday we found ourselves at Baris guesthouse. What a beautiful location with their own gardens of vegetables, herbs and roses. A fantastic surprise to see onions, yarrow, pomegranates and so much more. The tea garden looked stunning but we only sampled the ice-cream, made by the farm... To die for! The monger sells their own goats milk cheese including an award winning vliedermaus. The goats can be seen from a distance so as not to stress them too much - well done Baris on putting the animals first. This was a winner stop on our road trip.

You walk into a cute little living area with a fireplace and chocolate brownies waiting for you on the counter - a very nice treat! The stay was incredible and you must definitely go to the monger. You won’t be able to resist leaving with some sort of cheese that’s made on the farm. Absolutely loved it there.

My husband & I had a really memorable stay at Baris Guesthouse for all the right reasons.
The rooms are spacious, spotless and lovely. The fireplace was a real plus with the evenings being a bit chilly!
We were pleasantly surprised when the wood for the fire was replenished everyday without having to ask - as was charcoal for the braai.
We ordered a braai pack one evening and the quantity & quality of the meat was exceptional - the freshly baked bread and a beautiful fresh salad topped it off.
The farm setting is so peaceful.
Oh and the cheesecake at the coffee shop is marvelous! The cheese too of course :)

We spent 3 nights at Baris Guesthouse in Clarens and can only highly recommend it. Jaco and Minda were kindness itself, extremely friendly and accommodating. You stay on an amazingly run farm 10 kms out of Clarens but it is well worth the drive. Braai packs are available for an evening braai with homegrown salad ingredients and freshly baked bread.

We had such a lovely time at Baris Guesthouse. Minda & Jaco went out of their way to make it a relaxing family break for us. We can highly recommend their braai supper packs... DELICIOUS! Also don't miss out on the wine and cheese tasting - get a slice of their cheesecake as a take away - you won't taste better!

We stayed at Baris Guesthouse recently and were absolutely blown away by the wonderful setup, hospitality, class and just the overall beauty of the guesthouse as well as the people. We were welcomed by the owner and staff who were eager to assist with anything we may require. The facilities are top notch and so tasteful. We also went to the on-site restaurant and we were so impressed at the knowledge of the products being sold by the staff. Everything was so divine we ended up taking take aways for our long drive back home. This is definitely a place I would return to time and again. Already looking for a reason to come back.

Fantastic guest farm, exceptionally clean and tidy. Beautiful gardens and very colorful with a large variety of plants, shrubs, and trees. Various hiking trails on the farm and of course the mountains.
Each unit has its own barbecue with a table and chairs as well as a wood-burning stove in the house. Firewood and charcoal are provided and supplemented daily. Tasty meat hampers, bread, and jam, and other delicacies can be ordered from the hosts.
The units are cleaned daily including the dishes.
We will return!
