This is really an amazing place to stay. You can hear the lions roar at night and the overall comfort of the rooms was perfect. The food is really good we had the black beast steak which was really good. Staff is really friendly.

My stay at Buisfontein was very short, actually too short. Except for a little bit of maintenance that is needed on the chalets and to the entrance to the main building, everything was very nice and enjoyable.

The food in the restaurant was delicious and very reasonable priced.

I saw some animals and heard the lions, however, unfortunately, my stay was too short to see the lions.

One thing I enjoyed was that the DSTV had more channels to choose from than some of the big hotels and guesthouses in the main cities

The only criticism that I have is that I had to work and the deck in my chalet was a little bit small. Overall I enjoyed my short stay and will definitely stay at Buisfontein again.

We attend the Valentines weekend special at Buisfontein. It was a wonderful weekend which had include a show of Steve Hofmeyer, a Valentine's lunch on Sunday, a Game drive and a lot of relaxing and good food. The service was warm and friendly. There was a few hick-up's like the aircon that was not working in one of our friends room, but when we reported it to the management, they took care of it right away, got an electrician to fix the problem and it was solved within an hour or so. The decor of the lodge are beautiful and stylish. The service at the bar was also very good and we had a great time. They put a lot of effort into their Valentine's dinner with a great menu and the food was well prepared and delicious. We had a wonderful weekend stay at Buisfontein.

I was booked into Buisfontein Safari Lodge by Hoerskool Wollies. I am fortunate to say that the accomodation, restaurant and staff made me feel very special. This upmarket establishment is a must stay over in the North West. Well done.

Beautiful facility, obviously intended to be a jewel, no expenses barred. The investor here had established and provided a magnificent piece. However, over the last year that we have frequented this lodge, it had deteriorated so fast. Shoddy maintenance with many items, fittings lose, missing and broken. Beds broken, had to sleep on the floor. Rooms and cottages are extremely dirty inside and outside...total neglect. Wrong air conditioning remotes in rooms, sometimes coffee and tee condiments in room but without cups/mugs and vica versa. Main building facility is dirty, with bird droppings not being cleaned off entrance floors and patio tables and chairs and floors. Patio chairs and tables are left in a array of disorganised positions (as inconsiderate guests leave them)...no cleaning or organising of tables and chairs. The waitrons get the orders wrong every time, both in the restaurant and lounge/patio areas. The reception personnel are lacking all together. As a four star rated facility this really is the pits. I really feel sorry for the investor here.

On the first of May 2015, we attended a wedding at Buisfontein Safari Lodge located near Wolmaranstad. Bookings and payments were made in advance for accommodation, priced at R880 per night (no card facilities available). With reference to their luxurious website, accommodation was at least expected to adhere to the basic hospitality standards. Upon arrival, room 24 had no working lights, a broken shower head was left on the basin and a single bath towel was provided (even though accommodation allows for two persons per room). Due to the broken shower head, showering required standing against the wall to get a few drops of water and left the entire bathroom under water. Room 26 had no hot water and a TV with an "out of order" paper stuck to it. Room 27 also had no hot water, a broken shower head and no working electrical plugs. When the receptionist was informed of the "no hot water" situation, guests were merely advised to use one of the showers in the other rooms. All the rooms had several cobwebs on the walls and had obviously not been cleaned prior to our visit. I have stayed in cheaper rooms all over South Africa, which adhered to a much higher standard. Non of us, who had the unfortunate experience of spending a night at Buisfontein Safari Lodge will ever go back there.

Wow! I was totally surprised when I arrived at the venue for my friends' wedding. When I entered the reception area I heard the lions roar!
You definitely feel like you are on a safari lodge.

The reception is so elegant and neat and the service was very good. I felt at home because of the friendly and helpful Afrikaans staff.

The wedding Chapel and reception has a wonderful and charming atmosphere.

The accommodation was comfortable and cosy. Safari drives are offered everyday at 9 am and again at 5 pm. Unfortunately, my stay was too short to go and watch the animals.

I would gladly visit this place again! Keep up the good work!

i have read the reviews from the previous reviewers and was a bit scared to use this venue, but because we had a function decided to use it. There is an improvement from the prevoius reviewers and i have spoken to one of the locals who told me that with the change of owners he also agree that there is an improvent at the lodge. A lot still have to done to the rooms, maintenance has to improve. Some of the rooms did not have a TV and no discount/consession was made for that. The main lodge look good and the function that we had there was very nice.

Crazy value for money at Buisfontein Sunday buffet lunch. Apart from the tasty food at give away prices, all the personnel and waiters go out of their way to make you feel happy and at home. If you are within 120 km from Buisfontein it will still be worth your while to attend Sunday lunch at Buisfontein!
