We had a delightful stay at Akwidaa Inn. The rooms are well furbished and clean with mosquito nets, a fan and running water in the bathrooms. The grounds are lovely, shaded by coconut trees as well as grass roofs under which you can sit and enjoy the view and sounds of the ocean.

The staff are friendly and happy to organise tours to local towns and natural sights for a fixed price (we went in a canoe through the mangroves on the Ezile river). A highlight are the meals prepared by the chef, Jacob. He cooks delicious local meals as well as some creations of his own. These can be enjoyed in the restaurant (with wifi) under in a large roof overlooking the beach.

A standard room cost 380 cedi and an average meal approx. 85 cedi. We found these prices to be fair especially considering the remote location, quality services and maintenance of the compound.

We came in our own car. The road from Dixcove is unpaved and quite rough but also beautiful and certainly worth the visit to Akwidaa Inn.

I spent 20 days at Akwidaa Inn and I highly recommend.
The place is peaceful and enchanting. Can you go for long and relaxing stroll on beach or just enjoying the time that flows slow.
All the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Absolutely worth it!

My stay was restful and the staff were super. Coconuts were complementary and the meals excellent. There are Turtles all along these beaches and you can find them nesting at night.
Torches provided.
Conservation is a work in progress as the locals are very poor and the turtles are a source of food. Tourists visiting helps them to realise the benefits of stopping this poaching so please visit and bring it up with the village elders

I came here with 3 of my friends, after recommendation from one of them (phish). Jafar, the manager is amazing. He was ready to help, extremely delightful. I can’t stress enough how much of a good manager he is. The beach is serene and beautiful. The ocean is clean and my favorite part of my experience at Akwidaa was the canoeing on mangrove. Extremely relaxing.
One of Ghana’s hidden gems. Oh and the coconuts on arrival gives it the best tropical touch.
5/5 will recommend.

Relaxing on the beautiful beach (no swimming in those waves for us though), possibility to organise tours and transportation. Jafar the manager is super well organised and helpful and Isaac the waiter super kind and friendly. On a less positive note, roads leading to Akwidaa are not good. On a more postive side. It would probably be more crowded and touristy if the roads were in good condition. Highlight of the stay: 20km hike to Cape Three Points and back. Jafar can help with the guide.

We spent two nights at Akwidaa Inn and were absolutely blown away by how beautiful the location was, the cleanliness of the rooms, the comfort of the beds, the warmth and hospitality of the staff, the relaxing beach and the selection of activities! When hiking to the lighthouse (a must-do!) we actually passed other hotels and resorts in the area and Akwidaa Inn was by far the cleanest and most beautiful of them all. Will definitely be returning here in the future and would recommend this to anyone visiting this area!

Akwidaa Inn was a lovely surprise. We stayed in order to go to the Asa Baako festival and ended up spending more of our time there than at the festival. It is extremely quiet- set on a very remote beach with the Akwidaa village nearby. The huts are basic but very clean and pleasant. Fans are provided and the bed is very comfortable so you are guaranteed a good sleep- falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of waves and birds. The food was excellent and Gordon, the chef, is eager to talk about where it is sourced from (the village nearby in a lot of cases, and straight out the sea!). The inn can arrange a lot of activities, including mangrove canoeing, hiking to West Cape Three Points and on the peninsula nearby, and a turtle hike in the right season. It is also nice just to walk along the very long beach and go for a (cautious) dip in the sea.

They can also arrange taxis- hopefully with the excellent Manchester (the taxi driver), known by the name Manchester for his passionate support of ManU football.

To get there, you will drive along a long (45 mins) dirt road. The closest ATM is in Agona (about an hour away) so make sure you have enough cash.

I just felt in this hotel by causality but, now, it is one of my favourite spots. The hotel is situated in a stunning beach, if you want a isolated and relaxed beach without thinking that someone will steal your mobile, this is your place. I spend the best 3 days relaxing and chilling where all the stuff was taking care of me.And not just that, If you are lucky in the season, you will see the turtles coming for leaving their eggs.

Not only that, if you really want to experience the almost untouched Ghana you come here. The community next to of this hotel is the perfect example of a coastal local community. Safe to walk around, talk wth locals and experience the true Ghanian culture.
