Camping with husband and family. Warm welcome from new owners Santie. Just for interest sake the lodge name changed to Tawa Lingwe Game Lodge and is no longer Jabulani Game Lodge.
We camped in the "A" block with our off road Boswa. on a grass stand, with tap close by for our water tank,(just bring own fitting and hose) braai with grid got delivered by friendly staff. Not much shade though, however, with such Spectacular 360 degree views of Green Valleys, green hill sides, and the mountain range in the background, yellow and purple veld flowers filled in on the splendid valley surroundings, is an amazing sight. Stars on a clear sky like a glittery diamond jewelry box, with the Jackal cries and Lion roars....!!
Ablution block's shower and toilet cubicles are very spacious, clean ant tidy.
Bring your hiking shoes for lovely walks, or jogging or bicycle to ride on. Game drive was fantastic, thank you Dries,(owner) we enjoyed your humor and knowledge off the various buck species, was very informative, together with the lions, and the new cup that I cuddled, ...Wow!!. Observing your passion for the animals.
Will definitely return in the very near future. In general, loved this camp, remember, this is the Freestate, always bring a jacket with for the cool and sometimes windy nights. Not far to travel, about 30km from the town Parys on the new tar road.

I bought a daddy's deal, and WOW what a magnificent place Jabulani turned out to be.
Only 150 km out of Jozi and definite place to go to just unwind after a week of stress fast living and taxis to just push your stress levels to the limit.

We arrive at Jabulani just 12h00, Noeks our friendly hostess warmly welcomed us, gave our keys and off we went to our room. Jabulani unlike other hotels allowed to check in at 12h00, we unpacked and went to cool down in the beautiful swimming pool. Don's expect a heated pool, the cold water will wake you up and refresh you all over. The temperature in Vredefort easily reach a whooping 40 degrees.

Jabulani caters for each type of person, whether you bring your caravan, eat at the restaurant, or prepare your own meals they have you covered.

Among all the beauty Jabulani also cater for those who want to say "I DO". They have a beautiful wedding venue a big must for those who still planning the fairy tale wedding. The props set up will make beautiful wedding pictures and the sunset is just awesome.

The next morning we woke up at the crack of dawn to appreciate the beautiful sunrise, later that morning we joined Johan Snr for a trip to the lions camps and game drive. This was just amazing, holding little baby cups under the watchful eye of Johan.

Johan introduced us to Stoffel and pre-warned us to remove valuables from our pockets as Stoffel will help himself to your pockets. Stoffel was abandoned as a baby, they moved him in with the lion cups as a temporary solution, however Stoffel and the cups became such good friends that they now unable to move Stoffel.

Johan Snr showed us the wild lions and a white lion that will be giving birth in a months time. When we asked what will happen to the lions once they fully grown Johan explained that all lions are released back into the wild and none of the lions are handed to the local Zoo's.

That we enjoyed our last braai and later that night we joined Johan Jnr and Noeks for drinks in the pub and a rugby game.

Sunday morning we enjoyed breakfast and with a heavy hart packed up and say our good buys.

We will definitely return to Jabulani a little bush veld close to the city.

Noeks, Johan Jnr and Johan Snr thank you for your hospitality and friendliness. Keep going you doing a wonderful job.

I have mixed feelings about our stay - after reading the mostly excellent reviews on Tripadvisor I was optimistic about our stay. The rooms were spacious and very clean and had everything one needs but were very "characterless" with no real décor! The bed was really small and uncomfortable with a thin poor quality mattress.
The rooms are referred to as "luxury" but are really very basic. The place is neat and staff, when seen, are friendly. The trip to the lions was nice and the interaction with the lion cub was lovely, but not terribly informative! The breakfast was strange - we were brought a plate each of fairly appetising food...but we weren't asked what we eat or would like? I don't eat eggs and the sight of two soft ones spoilt things for me! There was no milk for the tea/coffee. The place seems to be undergoing some sort of refurbishment as the relative peace was destroyed by workers mixing concrete and shouting instructions till almost 6 in the evening. Also, the pool cleaner felt the need to converse with someone loudly and continuously at 7 in the morning. The main road running past the lodge is also noisy most of the day and evening with truck and car noise, even though it isn't close. The place was empty although we had a glimpse of a few campers for a little while. We did not make use of the little shop or pool close by. The pool was clean but was in need of a good paint! I doubt I would return based on the abundance of more exciting places to stay.

Owner happily told us he sells the Cubs to be hunted then went on to say he didn't think there was anything wrong with it.
Geese in need of full fresh water.
Noisy, clearly this place is one big party for the owners who do not care about their animals.

We camped Easter weekend.. At arrival shortly after 5pm we found the office closed and drove in without booking in. The campsite, block A, is close to the main road and the traffic was quite disturbing, it did however die down the next day and was tolerable for the remainder of our stay. On the first night a wedding took place. At 2pm we requested the guests to turn down the music which respectfully they did. The remainder of the weekend big crowds were very noisy at night and partied until wee hours of the morning (4am). No control. Ablutions were filthy dirty, not attended to despite several requests to management to clean it up. The shop did not have basic things for instance like milk. Although shop hours were listed, the shop attendant closed the shop at any time, he did however open when one could find him. Campsites are poorly demarcated and one has to guess where your stand is. Stands are pre-booked however on arrival found someone else on our stand, we were advised to take the next stand. All stands have steel droppers +- 1m high and probably used for the dustbins. These are not noticeable especially at night and one of our people drove over it, fortunately the vehicle had a bash plate and the vehicle was not damaged.

After all the good reviews read on trip-advisor, we decided to go camping this Easter weekend at Jabulani, what a disappointment. The place is well laid out and must have been one of the best, well not anymore. There was a wedding on Thursday night and the after party went on till early in the morning. The next evening the party went on till the next morning about 4h00, no intervention from management, this time it was in the camping area. Surely the management must notify you when you book that there will be a party and your stay maybe affected. The ablutions were horrendous, the one crip in the gents side was blocked the whole weekend, stinking more and more. No cleaning was done of the ablutions, we had to phone to ask for toilet paper in the ladies toilet. One of the mens toilets were full of vomit and the other one was full of feces since Friday morning. Ablutions are a priority for me and phoning management and requesting the ablutions to be cleaned and being ignored, is not on.

Close enough for a weekend break from Gauteng's major cities, this game lodge is a gem.
The staff are accommodating, friendly and their meerkat mascot "Trompie" keeps the smiles coming.
Chalets are cosy, private and within a short walk of the pools, games room, shop, restaurant and pub.
The game drive is really worth it and hosted by an informed hands-on guide with a good sense of humour.
Seeing the majestic lions up close is amazing and the interaction with the cubs rounds off the experience.

Ours was a trip that was planned courtesy of an online deal for 2 nights for 4people. The kids were happy with the various facilities that are available including jungle gyms, a table tennis table, beach volleyball sand pit and swimming pools. The highlights being, able to cuddle such adorable lil lion cubs...
Of course when kids are happy, parents are happy to be left alone:)
It was awesome and we will definitely come visit again...Thank you again, to the wonderful hosts, Antoinette & Johan for making our stay such a pleasant and memorable one..
Wish you all the best in your Lion rehabilitaion venture..

We spent two nights at Jabulani Game Lodge. We arrived the Friday afternoon with warm and friendly hospitality. The property is very clean and beautiful and so peaceful from all the city life we are used to. We stayed in a chalet which was very clean and neat. The bed was very comfortable and they had a very nice big standing fan for the warm weather. We booked the sun deck for the Friday afternoon which is a wooden table and two chairs on top of the Koppie with the most perfect view of the surroundings. I have never experienced a sunset like that before, truly amazing! The game drive on Saturday morning was very fun and we got to play with a lion cub (too cute for words!). The breakfasts are very nice and the overall experience was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Jabulani Game Lodge to everyone!

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Jabulani thanks to a Daddy's Deal. This really is a peaceful, restful place and the staff are extremely friendly, informative and very accommodating.
Accommodation (we stayed in a thatched chalet) is simple, comfortable and clean, and you can choose whether to self-cater or eat in the restaurant. Restaurant food is decent if a little pricey (R120 for a 200g rump steak and chips or salad) but the menu is not very comprehensive.
It was great to hear about and see the lions, and to interact with the wonderful lion cubs. We would love to return when there are some really tiny ones!
A delightful place to spend a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
