We travelled here recently and stayed over for a night. The staff are very friendly and the room is extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included in the room rate and they provide a good amount of time in order to get to the breakfast room and enjoy it comfortably.

Fantastic small hotel directly on the banks of the Orange River - ample parking, very calm and peaceful despite fairly large lodging capacity (the entire complex has a few dozens self-catering units as well as the hotel itself).

The building is made of wood, so soundproof is not the strongest side, however, it was good enough and other guests were also making the effort to not make much noise.

The room was large enough, with everything necessary for a few days of stay. The AC worked like a charm, so did the internet.

We slept very well, and we did enjoy a good breakfast in the restaurant on the premises of the hotel. We also did a dinner there once, and it was rather delicious (the prices are more than affordable, in my opinion, compared to many other places).

Last but not least - the personnel was friendly and helped us around with organising a boat trip along the river, which was a good opportunity to spend time before dinner.

We had high expectations after a wonderful stay in 2022 that included: ease of contact by phone; a warm welcome; world class accommodation in a high end chalet.

This visit involved: at least 5 calls over 3 days before someone picked up the phone; no response to our email; arriving to an empty reception where we rang the bell for attention and stood around for 10 mins eventually having to call by phone to announce our arrival; a very dated chalet desperately in need of refurbishment especially the shabby bathroom.

Perhaps it was naive to assume all the chalets are of the same standard.
We'll try somewhere different next time. I'd rate it 2.5 but that isn't an option.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. First impressions were good. Nice big room with small kitchenette and a veranda to admire the river. The bed slept well and cosy with heater making life comfortable.
Unfortunately there are one big negative. There is no sound proofing between the walls of the rooms. If your neighbours are having a chat, the next door occupants are enjoying the conversation as well. So be very quiet unless you want everyone to know your secrets. We were unfortunate to have very noisy neighbours that came in late and left at 5 the next morning. They left the TV on, so I had to get up and switch it of to have any chance of sleep.
It seems that this is a design problem as the hotel is built from wood and this should have been foreseen.
Orania is a strange little town. The impression that we got is that it is neglected and in need of some maintenance. Most of the gardens of the houses are a sore eye, the little grass there is are unmowed and no flowers to speak of.
One of the outstanding positives of this town is the hospitality. Everyone we met were extremely friendly and wanted to help. Just be careful when receiving change. Orania has its own money and you may end up with some of this among your notes. They are worthless outside this enclave.
We enjoyed the hospitality of this hotel but don't plan to visit again.

We stayed in Orania on route. The rooms were comfortable and pleasant. WIFi works in the rooms and a decent variety of TV channels. The buildings are well maintained. The setting on the Orange river is very scenic. The Spa functions well and the restaurant is close by. A negative about the restaurant is that breakfast on the last day was not available at 0800 as advertised. In fact by that time the door was not open as yet. When they opened they were clearly not prepared for breakfast and clearly understaffed.

The whole village is very nice and quiet and offers a relaxing atmosphere. The Oewer is on the banks of the river and therefore nice shady trees to relax under. Reception was very helpful by leaving a key with clear instructions when we arrived after hours. Our unit was clean and quite new. The bedrooms were spacious. The only down side is that the hot water did not function but the owner had that fixed since. We enjoyed our stay and as we only went out of curiosity we will probably not go back. It is out of the way but it was a nice visit.

The setting, on the riverbank certainly can't be beaten.

Rooms are spacious, well equipped and very comfortable, as is the shower rooms.

While the log cabins isn't sound proof - one can indeed hear your upstairs and next door neighbours, the hotel doesn't attract overly noisy people.

Certainly to be recommended.

We stayed in Olien & Olyf Units, which is very spacious and perfect for a group of friends looking for a relaxed weekend away. We enjoyed each minute of our stay. As our dates were a bit confused we booked the wrong date for a Spa treatment, the friendly Spa staff accommodated us to help us long after they should have gone home. The units are equipped with everything you will need for your stay. The main bedroom bathroom is a bit small, but not a mayor issue. The lawns are lovely green and very well looked after which creates a inviting and summer feeling!

We stayed in the Luxury Suite for 3 nights. Absolutely a home away from home. The suite was clean, fully furnished with lots of extras. Staff super friendly and very helpful. Loved having all our meals at the restaurant (highly recommended!) overlooking the Orange River
