Glamping Holidays in the Hebrides in Cabins and Huts, spectacularly located in Uig, Isle of Lewis. A breath-taking sandy beach is a short walk away, nestling between the iconic Mangersta sea cliffs. Family friendly, dog friendly and eco friendly, Mangersta Croft Holidays are ideal for travellers interested in exploring the natural environment, wildlife watching, landscape photography, hiking and Hebridean beaches. Each of 2 Cabins sleeps up to 4; Each of 2 Shepherd's Huts sleeps up to 2. All are cosy and comfortable with electric heating, private en-suite shower rooms, kitchenettes and dining areas suitable for self-catering. BBQ's and fireside chats under star filled Hebridean skies are encouraged around a beautifully crafted stone walled camp fire pit. The accommodation units are located in the fields surrounding our home and Art Gallery. We keep sheep and cows and grow vegetables and fodder crops on our croft in Mangersta, a tranquil village looking out across the Atlantic Ocean.

A little bit of paradise far away from it all, in a lovely pod. Cliffs, beaches, eagles, stags, huge views, wild surf. Warm comfortable living area with well stocked cooking facilities and surprisingly large shower room. Friendly helpful owners.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 night stay in one of the shepherd huts. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean, it had everything you would need! Lovely location with beautiful beach and dramatic cliffs, I loved exploring around Mangersta with my dog and it was also a great base for travelling a bit further a field. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return 😍

We each stayed in a shepherd's hut and they were perfect. Super comfy bed and everything you need right down to washing up liquid and dish towels. The sheds are beautifully decorated in retro style and are super snug as you listen to the wind whipping around outside. Derek and Elsie were lovely hosts, very warm and friendly. The shop at Timsgearraidh is excellent, very well stocked with food and gifts and fuel is available 24h. Pay in the vestibule if the shop is shut. So you can enjoy the getting away from it all with the reassurance that you'll not run out of biscuits.

Mangersta Croft Holidays is one of our favourite places to stay. The Cabin (sleeps 4), has all you need to cook, a great electric shower & it was clean as a whistle. Check in & out is easy and friendly. We had our 8 year old Nephew with us and there were lots of kid friendly DVDs on offer to entertain him when he wasn't running around with the dogs or eating at the fire pit. The beach is only a 5-10 minute walk and usually you're the only ones there. Elsie and Derek are pros at making you feel comfortable and relaxed on your stay, they have great chat, and you'd wish they were your neighbours all year round, not just on holiday! Our top tip would be to stay longer than you think you need. You're able to slow down here, and soaking up this way of life is best when you can have a few extra days away. The Island of Lewis (and Harris if you're heading south) is big and it can take a while to get to where you want to go, give yourself more time to relax and enjoy everything this special place has to offer. Our favourite spots are the Eagle's Nest bothy, a walk along the road in Mangersta out to the cliffs and the Mangersta beach. Enjoy your evenings around the campfire if you're able.

We loved our 3-night stay at Mangersta Croft Holidays. The pods were more spacious than I was expecting and really well designed with everything you need (including electric shower, kitchenette, TV for DVDs). We were a family of 4 and our girls (aged 9 and 11) had the best time running around outside and playing with Magnus the dog. There's a stunning beach literally 5 minutes' walk from the croft, as well as fabulous coastal walks and a short drive to Uig for supplies, or 30 minutes to the Callanish stones. The Valtos peninsula is definitely worth exploring too. Derek and Elsie were lovely hosts, really friendly and helpful. There's no WiFi in the pods and the area feels really remote - which is just what we were after! A perfect, relaxing stay. Oh, and it's a great area for spotting golden eagles too.
