Quaint old style self catering home. Perfect for an overnight rest or to explore the small town. Dinner service was offered. Good meal and extremely friendly staff. Host was friendly and efficient. We will certainly return.

Comfortable and quirky accommodation in peaceful Philippolis. Owner friendly and communicative even though she was out of town. Through directions to get into cottage and recommendations on where to eat and visit in town. The only fault is that Philippolis feels a bit deserted and lonely midweek with a lot of businesses seemingly shut.

This Karoo town of Philippolis has captured my heart. Absolutely loved spending time here. Staying at Starry Nights Karoo Cottages was like stepping back in time - just loved it - very comfortable & everything we needed was there. There are places to eat out in the village - just down the road it the Philippolis Hotel for those who don't feel like cooking (another fabulous old restored building). Just remember - one night is not enough! I'm really sorry we didn't have more time available on our Road Trip to have spent more time here - Loved it all

We stayed here only because we were visiting Tiger Canyons 45 minutes away. We got off to a bad start because Sunette told us to meet her at the stop sign by the church. We drove up and down, up and down but it turns out the stop sign is only visible from a side street due to an overgrown tree. The cottage was strangely set up, old and musty with a lizard in the shower. And apparently Sunette lives close by because when we returned to the cottage after dark she came running out to tell us we couldn't park across the street from our unit. The worst part was that there was coffee and a coffeepot in the kitchen but after we made coffee we saw the sign that says there was an outrageously large charge for it. And of course we didn't have correct change in Rand for the coffee so we had to leave a large bill and make up the difference with all the other food for sale in the refrigerator

For those who like to feel like they've gone back in time, this place may be for you. It's small and very basic but affordable and close to Tiger Canyon which is the only reason I'd recommend it. Not much in town either.

Delightful country style cottage reasonably priced. Clean, spacious..... you can't ask for more. And Tiger Canyons.. wow, what a gem we have on our doorsteps. Ranks as one of my life's highlights. JV and team you are doing an amaaaazing job. Our guide Chantelle was every bit the professional. I will RETURN.

For those of us who like it a bit off the beaten track. Less wimpy bar and more quiet country style. You simply can not find a better town to stop in and Starry Nights allows the freedom to explore, make a little braai under the grape vines and experience klein karoo living. Wouldn't stay anywhere else between North and South if driving down.

Thank you Sunette for your kind hospitality. No. 26 Tobie Muller Str is perfect, has everything it needs and is soooo authentic. We really felt we had shared the simplicity of the Karoo and warmth of its people. The two nights flew by and I wouldn't have minded an extra morning sitting on the "voorstoep" watching the world go by.

Really loved our one night stay in this beautiful heritage Karoo cottage. Clean and cool on the road within walking distance of the restaurant. A braai in the backyard would be nice. Nice honesty bar also. Comfortable bed with crisp fresh linen
