We stayed with Maria & Zhareda for two nights and loved our time with them. The guest house has nice rooms with comfortable beds and their is hot water in their bathroom. Maria is very nice and happy to help you with whatever you might need. She was always asking if we were hungry, offering us coffee and making sure that we were happy. We really enjoyed our time with them and would recommend their guesthouse to anyone coming to Ushguli

Realy bad. We changed the hotel after saw the house. So dirty . The owner can't speak english . The food was cold . Rooms were dirty too. Windows were broken so i think no one can stay there in winter.

We were two families with small children who booked Homestay Zhareda in late October. The large house is owned by a couple. Zaur speaks good Russian and was very nice and helpful. Maria speaks very little Russian and English, so we couldn't really communicate with her. (The online account is managed by their relative who speaks excellent English) The house seems to be in a bad condition: doors and windows don't property close. There is a single toilet (with malfunctioning tank) + shower for all tenants. There is no heating in the rooms, just a wood stove in the kitchen. So when it is -10C outside there is at most 0C in the rooms. We were given plenty warm blankets, but it was still so not cozy that we left after the first night even though we were booked for two. The place might be OK for an adult hikers in summer, but I recommend to avoid it for families with kids or in winter.
