Had a fantastic stay in the campsite. Ablutions were very clean and the peaceful silence among the natural surroundings made it all worth it. A friendly horse roams the premises along with turkeys and chickens.

When booking i searched a few places within a certain price range and who could accomodate 10 people as we were intending going as a group. This was a sort of farewell for me leaving the company i had been working at for 11 years and going with mostly colleagues. They were certainly not the cheapest by any means but as i knew the area and had not been to this place before i thought that i would try it out. After arriving the owners confirmed my booking and handed me the keys to the two chalets and all seemed well. I had arrived with 2 colleagues and the others would be joining up later. After settling in our colleagues arrived and we all had a ball of a time. The caretaker/owner came around and asked us to turn our music off and for us to quieten down as our neighbours were complaining. The only neighbours at that point were another couple with their son who rather enjoyed our company and confirmed that they had no issues with us and could not hear us at all from where they were...this was a bit baffling but we ignored it and carried on with our music now off and us enjoying a spot of 30 seconds and dominoes. The next morning we went off to the pools and the caretaker was watching us like a hawk and every loud bit of laughter was seen as a no-no.all the other guests that joined us in the pool had no problems either as we all had a good time but we couldnt figure out what the deal was with the caretaker. My cousin and i took a walk to the shop which was conveniently about 500metres outside the resort... upon returning and still in our jolly mood my cousin greeted the caretaker and asked him how he was doing to which the response was "You guys kept me out of f***** sleep " (in afrikaans). If neighbours 2 doors away could not hear us ,how could they around 500 -600 metres away ? This whole episode was really starting to annoy me & my guests but we carried on inspite of everything and enjoyed ourselves for the second night. The sunday morning came and we left at the agreed departure time to which the caretaker could only be too happy ..We ensured that both places were spotless and that there were no breakages that needed to be sorted out...i must say that we felt like school kids being watched all the time and was not the best atmosphere. I realised that i had received a phone call from the lady at the reception office only upon returning home and she sounded incredibly angry ....this whole event spoiled what was supposed to be a happy farewell to me ... I doubt that they would want us back and i doubt that i would ever be visiting again ...

Hi Richard, Sorry if your experience was not as you expected. We have a strict no music policy. You disregarded this and your group was told to put off your music i believe playing from your car, this was at 3 o clock in the morning. There were guests next to you as well as campers behind you. We received a complaint which we acted on.Noise carries over the whole park. Your chalets were left spotless thank you. The call you received was not responded to, I am the lady at the reception, the caretaker is my partner, the call was not angry, i asked if you would please contact the office. There are plenty of places that allow music, however we are not one of them, so I am sorry you did not enjoy yourselves.

I was a solo traveler and spent 4 nights in one of the chalets. Super comfortable with everything I needed. Gorgeous view from the patio and great for bird watching too. This resort is so well priced and very central for touring the area. Such good value and with air conditioning too. The relaxed country atmosphere, wonderful hospitality, crystal clear swimming pool and farm animals add to the experience and it is hard to imagine that you are actually in the town.

We were greeted by Karen(caretaker) in a night gown in her home office...when we arrive the morning...really. Lovely little place to unwind...too many flies & mosquitos dirt ground where we pitched. Apples(caretaker) being very unprofessional when it comes to music one specific night...we had a fallout after Karen(caretaker) ask me to turnoff the music, because no one cares about it. The music was hardly audible from the car. Apples rushed in & started shouting & swearing at us rudely. Myself & Karen told him that we just arrived and that is not the way to treat your paying guest...to which he replied, this is my place & if you don’t like it, you can pack your bags! It left a bitter taste in ones mouth, but we enjoyed our stay. We will never go back though... 3 o’clock in the morning that bloody rooster wakes you up...😉. Ablution facilities top notch. They should build another ablution block close to entrance!

We were booked for another location but on the last minute I discovered my dates were incorrect. My husband and I found Citrus Creek the day before we were scheduled to depart for the long week-end. We telephoned Karen who had fortunatley just had a cancellation for a chalet (which we were looking for). The booking was sorted quickly and efficiently. The accomodation caters for chalets, overnighters and campers. Our chalet was basic but well equiped. They even came around and asked if we needed extra blankets (which we needed). It is a wonderful quiet space (you would never believe this establishment is actually situated in Town) where you can interact with horses, chickens, ducks and the family cat and dog. They have a games room where you can play table tennis, pool and darts (but bring your own set of darts with). The chalets were clean and staff extremely helpful and efficeinet. If you are looking for some quiet time with the family or even use this as an overnight stop I would reccomend Citrus creek.
