This is a jaw dropping location. You can literally spend hours on the verandah drinking the view in. We stayed in Rockwood cottage with 4 people and 2 dogs. It was very comfortable. We loved going for walks along the river and finding rock art paintings. Our dogs were literally their happiest selves rolling on the soft green grass and paddling in the stream running by our cottage. The gardens are beautiful this time of year and it is a great location for bird watching. Nothing is fenced and there is a lot of open water so this is not a safe location for non-swimming children.

One of the best accommodations on our 4 week round trip, a real gem we found there. We were warmly welcomed by Theresa and had very good communication via WhatsApp during our stay. Large, well equipped cottage with large terrace and barbecue area and a very nice garden with sitting area and wonderful rock pool, which we were very happy to use. Rockwood Cottage proved to be the highlight of our Northern Cape journey. The expansive green lawns were a paradise for our dogs, while the wildflowers and diverse hiking trails kept us busy and active. The rock pool was a gem for refreshing swim, and the crystal-clear dam with a kayak was amazing. The well-equipped house, coupled with a fantastic braai area, ensured a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We spend a couple of nights there with friends to unwind and see the flowers. The cottage was spacious and had all the mod cons required for a comfortable stay. The views from the stoep are fantastic and there are nice, easy walks around the farm. Dog friendly.

What a beautiful place to get away from everything. We stayed in the Rockwood Cottage that had two bedrooms as well as a seperate building that has twin beds and a bathroom. Gorgeous view with plenty of space for the kids and also a rock pool. The accommodation had everything we needed. Will definitely go back in summer to make use of that pool! This is a self catering cottage.
