We had a great time here. The owners & staff are such a lovely people. They will do anything to make you feel relaxed, welcome, home, at ease! Dinner was fabulous as well! The lodge itself is so cosy & clean! We really want to go back one day!
Very attentive owners and personnel. The owners go the extra mile with travel advice (to Kruger Park and Panorama Route), and by preparing high end European dinners with daily changing set menus. Excellent wine pairing, congratulations! Best food/wine we've had during our three weeks trip through the north of SA. All for a very affordable price. Comfortable and cosy.
We found this place to be charming - exceptionally clean and pleasing to the eye with friendly new owner Isabel and her wonderful manager Tracey to ensure we were comfortable, well informed about the area and well fed with a fantastic breakfast and setting. The rooms were set up with four post beds with mosquito nets - very romantic look when you you first enter the room and the bed was very comfortable with lovely signature linen. Wi-fi was good and the dinner recommendation surpassed our expectations. We stayed as two travelling couples and would highly recommend the place to prepare for our trip to the Kruger Park. Thank you for adding another great memory to our South Africa trip bank!
Our first visit to La lechere was overnight before heading into Kruger. Isabella and Jan were welcoming, friendly and efficient. Our room was more spacious than others in Phalaborwa, the bed was comfortable and well fitted. The pool area is lovely and good place to relax. The breakfast was delicious and we will certainly return again and again.
From the moment you arrive you feel spoilt. The venue is superb, with extremely comfortable rooms and relaxation areas . The new owners, Jan & Isabella are fantastic hosts and personally cook fantastic food with elegantly paired wines. They are within 7 kilometers of Phalaborwa Gate, Kruger Park and have arrangements with a personalized tour guide for trips into Kruger, a boat cruise on the Olifants River as well as places of interest in Phalaborwa. This was an absolute highlight of our Kruger Park trip - a must do!
