Clean, comfortable, beautifu! Great staff and great food --
I was in Kenya with my daughter as part of a service project. Karibuni Lodge was a great place to come home to every night.

I look foward to staying there again the next time I'm near Kitale.

Whilst visiting a near-by baby rescue centre to do some voluntary work, we were most welcomed by Theresa and Ibrahim to stay at their delightful lodge.
Although we were woken by the 5am call to prayer each day, by 6.30 or 7.00 a.m. we enjoyed sitting on the dining room verandah, with the peace and quiet of the wonderful gardens.
A varied and exciting breakfast was had each day, prepared by Ibrahim, and fresh fruits such as mango, passion fruit or guava were eaten with delight. Evening meals were so flavourful, and consumed with gusto after having worked up an appetite painting the Mercy Rescue!
Our lodge was very comfortable, complete with resident gecko who ate any stray bugs, whilst we were snug inside a mosquito net!
Absolutely recommend visiting Karibuni Lodge - home from home - just with more exotic wildlife!

Whenever I'm in the Kitale area, Karibuni is where I stay. As a resident of Kenya since 2001, I was very happy to discover it in 2011... and have been a frequent guest ever since then! In 2011, when I stayed here with my 16-year old grandson, Theresa helped us organize a day trip to Mount Elgon and Ebrahim packed a lunch for us. In 2016, I brought my daughter and three grandchildren here. They all loved it! This time I came with a Kenyan friend, and she also loved it. When we did a day trip to Saiwa Swamp, Theresa booked an 'on-time' taxi for us and Ebrahim packed a great breakfast for us (including a full flask of chai). Karibuni is a fabulous place, run by fabulous people!

We were supposed to stay one night and ended up staying 3! Beautiful green yard with trees, sheeps and chickens. Camping is possible but the different guesthouses are super comfortable. Management can't be nicer and they cook the best meals in Kitale.

If you want comfort and a home from home feel, karibuni lodge is the place to stay. Staff were so friendly and made us all feel at home straight away. I was a bit dubious about going to Kenya anyway, but this lodge made us feel safe straight away. Having a big garden for the children to play football and run around and a quaint little shop to buy souvenirs from. It was perfect for what we wanted and if i were to go back to Kenya again, (which i would love to) i would be sure to stay at the Karibuni lodge again ☺

I was attending a reunion in Kitale in October 2008 and was booked in to the Karibuni Lodge for a couple of nights by the organiser of the reunion since the Kitale Club was fully booked. The Club would have been the better option. Nevertheless the Lodge was adequate. Clean, but room was extremely basic, shower and basin were outside and the toilets basic. This lodge occupies what used to be a white settlers house in the better part of Kitale suburbs. Breakfast was served on the veranda of the main house. Early morning sounds of birds and view over the Cherangani mountains was just great and what Kenya is all about. The lodge is run by a very pleasant couple, which makes this experience that much nicer. Apart from the lodge and the Kitale Club there are no other places in Kitale town that I would prefer to stay at.

Less than 3 km from Kitale's centre (50 KES by boda), it is a well hidden rustic gem with a large green garden, lovely common dining veranda and spatious self-contained cottages as B&B with excellent breakfast (including good coffee) at 2000 KES. Lunch and dinner prepared by Ibrahim were just delicious (350/500 KES respectively). Can't recommend enough, phone 0706043618.

I stayed here for 2.5 months and absolutely loved it. The owners are seriously incredible and loving people. They are also amazing cooks! Every meal I had there was 10/10. Beautiful property and sometimes you'll see monkeys in the trees :)
