Nascer Do Sol offers both self-catering chalet accommodation and a campsite with 10 thatched baraccas. The lodge has 3 luxury chalets, each sleeping 6 people. These chalets have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large living area and kitchen. All these units are air conditioned. There are also 3 suites (all air conditioned). We also have 8 standard wooden self catering chalets all different sizes.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
As returning visitors to Nascer do Sol for the second year in a row, we would definitely recommend this holiday destination to any person/s that needs a well-deserved break. The owners of Nascer do Sol is constantly in the process of upgrading the entire lodge. Some of the newly built units are fully air-conditioned with all the basic and more requirements of a well thought through self-catering unit. The owners of Nascer do Sol will even buy your groceries should you feel you don’t want to do your shopping at home, give them a few days’ notice before your arrival and you will arrive at a fully stocked chalet. The most amazing sunrise awaits you, and after a long lazy day on the beach you can still enjoy a beautiful sun set, all from the same beach. Staff at Nascer do Sol is always friendly, we have never once met a single unfriendly person within Nascer do Sol, but the same can’t be said about some of the surrounding lodges. There is definitely something for everyone in the family, lazy days on the beach, deep sea fishing, visits to the local market in Xai-Xai as well as drive outs to surrounding beaches. Very few lodges within Mozambique can offer you a stable and fast internet connection, Nascer do Sol is not one of those lodges. Will I return to Nascer do Sol, well, our next holiday is already booked………

We visited Nascer do Sol during the October school vacation. Our chalet (Stingray) was situated on a dune right on the beach. It also has a splash pool which is nice. This specific chalet is due for an upgrade and should be wonderful after the upgrade. At the moment it is not very nice and renovations desperately needed. The personnel were very friendly and helpful.
Just keep in mind that this resort is quite far from the nearest town with a big shop (Shoprite). The little shop on the premises has a bit of everything and bread rolls can be ordered daily.
There was no TV in the unit, so keep that in mind when booking with smaller kids. We enjoyed the quietness and the long stretch of beach in front of the units. This is the perfect place if your aim is to enjoy and unwind.

Just Got Back from a school beach holiday in Chizavane.
We stayed at the King Fish Chalet at the Nascer do Sol resort.
The 3 double rooms were very comfortable with ensuite bathrooms in all rooms as well as aircons. The kitchen was well equipped, accept for not having a microwave.
All rooms had lovely views of the ocean which was a short walk away. At low tide it was excellent for the kids to swim in. At night the sound of the waves could be heard.
The kids enjoyed collecting shells, running after crabs, spotting whales and tumbling down the sand dunes. Afternoons had a good sea breeze making kite flying fun! They even had a miniature golf course for the kids to play at.
The chalet was in need of some minor maintenance but this did not affect our stay. It was serviced daily by friendly cleaning staff.
Fresh fish, oysters, mussels, crayfish and prawns were available regularly for sale on the beach. The beach was very safe as well.
A most pleasant stay and we plan to go back.

We have booked to camp at Nascer do Sol on our way back to RSA from Inhambane. The resort 'manager' Jacques ensured us they had camping and space for the 2 nights we required. On our arrival.....there were no camping sites....only baracas which is the equivalent to a wooden hut with 2 beds in...no bedding and hmm yes matrasses that i cannot describe the condition of ..... They call this a campsite.... So if you expect to camp...with a tent or a trailer...with a power point....you will not find it here.... Their photos on their website is also deceptive as it shows wide open spaces (perhaps they had space 10yrs ago) with camping but now there is only this filthy wooden huts with dirty matresses in it they call camping. This was not what we booked ( and fully paid 4 weeks before arriving) Once back home we emailed Jacques to get our monies paid back to us...but he bluntly refused We were a party of 11 guests, paid more than R4500.00 for 2 nights, could not use the resort and they did not even want to refund us our monies( or half of it) while it was their problem of misleading internet advertising and lying on email stating they had this amazing camping while there was NONE. The restaurant was not even open or stocked...be carefull they'll take your money into an RSA account before you even enter Moz...and then keep it...even if you could not use it cause it does not excist Nascer do Sol will not see us again. All we wanted was to be treated fair, and at leadt got a deposit back...now we need to engauge with other authorities to get it back

Sir, as mentioned in previous e-mail communication to you, your reservation was done from our website where it clearly explains what our campsite consist of. "For those of you who prefer to "rough it", we also have the campsite which consists of 12 baraccas , 1 large and central lapa as well as a secondary, smaller "kitchen". These thatched wooden huts each have two single beds with mattresses and has 1 electrical outlet each. Bedding is available at an additional cost. The primary ablution facility has two showers and two toilets on both the ladie's and men's sides. There is a small, secondary ablution available with a shower and toilet. Electrical outlets are also available in the central lapa for fridges or freezers. The camp also has a 6 bed hut which is partially equipped and has its own bathroom. The campsite is situated on the beach underneath an umbrella of trees within approximately 30m from the water"." No where do we mention caravan areas and in no correspondence did you ever mention that you are coming with caravans. If you did, we would have told you that we cannot accept caravans. You arrived with caravans (off-road) not with tents as mentioned in your response above. Secondly, our restaurant is open 08:00 to 22:00 daily and is stocked weekly. How can you say that the restaurant was closed and know that the restaurant was not stocked. Please do not put misleading information on this site. The reason we did not refund you is that we did offer you alternative accommodation in our chalets for no additional cost and you chose not to accept this. We were in a position to assist, as we believe in customer service, but you refused assistance.

My first snorkelling experience in tropical waters was along the safe reef at Nascer do Sol around the year 2000, and since then whenever I travel to Barra, I just HAVE to stay over a couple of nights at Nascer. The resort is well managed by friendly owners and staff, and they keep on upgrading the houses and it is just a pleasure to be there. Everything you need, you will find there - houses well equipped and excellent restaurant, with just beautiful views and safe beach. We watched the sun rising over the ocean from our bed - what more can you ask?! Best of all - slept with wide open windows, and no mosquitoes at all!

Recently spent a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at Nascer do Sol. So this is not Tofo or Ponta do Ouro, you don't come here for an action packed break, this place is more about kicking back and recharging your batteries in a tranquil beachfront setting. Our chalet, King Fish, was large and spacious, with nice, modern decor and details. Also fully equipped for self-catering. There were problems with electricity going on and off all the time, but the staff were on top of the situation. Restaurant was perhaps not top class, but served well-prepared food to our satisfaction. To avoid the inevitable waiting times, we went there in advance to order and decide on a time to come back and eat.
The beach is beautiful and goes on forever. We found that the current was pretty strong just in front of the lodge, so had to walk a bit to find a more suitable place for our kids to swim. Even if the solitude and relaxed atmosphere is what you look for, it's a pity there aren't more visitors (at this time it seems to be the same story all over Moz though). We were pretty much the only guests, and frankly it's quite eerie with a semi-desolate hotel.

My 1st visit to Mozambique was in September 2016. I didn't know what to expect, I was really excited yet a little nervous because of all the preparations we had to do before hand i.e finding out about different types of shots we had to have and pills we had to take. When we arrived in Maputo all my fears disappeared, the place is very hot and the people are so friendly, we drove to Xai-xai and finally made it to our destination Nascer do sol. My jaw dropped. A PIECE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH. This lodge is situated on a private beach, we stayed at the stingray and we were literally 10 steps away from the ocean. the lodge is on the beach. I have never had such a good night's sleep before listening to the waves crash into each other all night long. If you want to see some part of heaven and the almighty's amazing work, this is the place to visit.

Don't miss the sign on the right site when coming from Maputo. After 10 km on a sandy road, a great resorts sitting on the green hills and boarding the coastline opens before your eyes. The lodges are so romantic and have what you need. The restaurant has a variety of dishes including lobster, which my wife likes so much. Same quality as in the luxury hotels but at about half the price. Free Wifi at the main house. Jacques and his team make you really feel at home. I will come back, that is sure.

With the new road from Costa do Sol it's just a 3hours and a half drive from Maputo to get in Chizavane. This was our fifth time at Nascer and we just loved it. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the landscape and the beach are beautiful, the resort itself has been renewed and the house have been furnished with excellent taste. The resaurant serves very good food: try the travessa de mariscos and the chocolate mousse which is delicious. But what really makes the difference is the care that the family that owns the place has for its guests! A must go in Mozambique!

We spent a week in one of the suites at Nascer do Sol and could not have wished for a better holiday! The resort is immaculately maintained and upmarket and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very neat and clean and newly furnished. The sea view from these suites is not great but the proximity to the beach makes up for it - nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves! The suites are very well equipped to self cater and we were even surprised to find that it was serviced and cleaned each day. Fresh bread is available daily and most basics can be bought from the shop at reception. The beach at Nascer do Sol is one of the best I've ever been on. It's quiet and there is plenty of place to snorkel and see an array of fish. The coastline is unspoilt and often you are the only person on the beach. It really was one of the most relaxing holidays and the comfort of the suite played a huge role. Thanks to Jacques and his family for their hospitality and providing an excellent holiday destination! Just a note to future travellers, take whatever you can to ward off mosquitoes. The aircon makes a big difference but if you don't want to sleep with it on all night you will need something else to keep them at bay.

You can swim in front of the lodge. It is just when tides change from high to low that you must move slightly to the left to avoid rip currents but mostly it is fine.
There are more places to choose from in the Xai-Xai area.
