Reef resort is an excellent place family, couples, and large groups. We stayed there for two nights, and our experience was fantastic. All the houses/villas are well maintained. Bed are comfortable and has mosquito nets. The bathrooms are clean. The kitchen in the houses are well equipped, and also basic tea and coffee set is provided. Wifi works everywhere in the resort. However, what makes reef an excellent choice for a beach holiday is the terrific ocean view from the house. We actually saw 3-4 whales breaching while sitting on the porch of our villa. So keep scanning the ocean if you are there during whale season. Secondly, the restaurant provides superb food for breakfast, lunch and supper. I highly recommend Baboti spring rolls, and then if you are a good appetite, go for a seafood platter with freshly caught seafood. Reef resort has its own fishing boat, and they fish daily for their clients. You can enjoy long walks on the beach, boat rides, and fishing expeditions while at the reef resort. The staff are well trained and provide excellent service in the resort as well as in the restaurant and will guide you all the time, so your holiday is worth it.

We spent 2 nights in this fantastic resort. All the villas are well maintained, and the beds are comfortable with mosquito nets. They all have a private pool and a stunning view of the ocean ( we saw 2 whales breaching from our porch). The restaurant provides good-quality food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommended bobotie spring rolls and the fresh seafood platter.
The staff is super friendly and provides excellent service.

We did not stay at Reef Resort however I would recommend them based on the owner taking time out from being with his family to tow us out of a sticky situation. To help a stranger with such hospitality when we were not even staying with them I can only imagine what fantastic service they must provide. Thank you for rescuing us.

Most amazing resort and restaurant in Xai Xai! Absolutely beautiful resort with the friendliest and most helpful staff. Clean, modern and beautiful accomodation with great sea view. Would recommend Reef Resort and Cafe Pescador to anyone visiting Xai Xai.

Beautifull beach houses, very clean and serviced daily. Stunning little splash pool at every house, also cleaned daily. Very friendly and efficient staff. Cafe Pescador Restaurant, great food, a must visit. Very safe Resort with 24/7 security and beautiful views of the ocean. Awesome beaches for swimming close by.

We have returned home from 2 wonderful weeks staying at REEF RESORT in Xai-Xai! Accommodation, charters, restaurant and security are 5 out of 5!! All staff were very friendly and helpful, we felt like royalty! Thanks Judy!

Certainly one of the best places for a family holiday in Moz. Stunning beaches, ideal and safe for children. Great restaurant, luxury villas, super friendly and helpfull staff and management. Can't be compared to any other lodge in the Xai-Xai area.

Had a great family vacation here from Dec 27 to Jan 3, 2014. Just a note of caution: DO NOT assume it is as safe and secure as it feels. We had one cell phone and over R5,000 stolen from multiple wallets on our last day. We wish there had been a note encouraging us to use the Safe provided! It is easy to get lulled into complacency when there are 24 hr security walking around the property and very friendly maids. When we reported our loss, we were told this was the fourth such incident, and in fact the family who moved out of 'our' house on the day we arrived also had a cell phone stolen. It would have been comforting to have heard some follow up from the owners on the steps they had taken to check with the security and maids etc. regarding our theft. We have never heard a word back from them! Loved the area - will not go back to this resort!!

My daughter is in the Peace Corps in Mozambique. We went to visit her and traveled to Xai Xai and stayed at the Reef Resort. We felt safe at the resort - it seems to be well guarded. The views were excellant from the balcony! We saw many, many whales. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant. Good food at a reasonable price! The road to get there was a little rough.

We stayed here for 3 perfect nights. My brother-in-law had just completed a run across Africa, 3 months, 40 kilometers a day, 20 Degrees South Run. The run ended at Al Reef and we couldn't have chosen a better place to finish and celebrate. The whole team was amazing, the views incredible and the accommodation beautiful. I can not wait to come back especially as they might be adding diving to the activities soon.
