No service for dinner from the waitring staff. Ignored and orders not taken. Waiting time of more than an hour and completely ignored. Debit card used without consent after checking out with no amount outstanding.
I'm not sure what the last review, "Honest Review," is talking about. Had a lovely stay, and anyone who thinks that the parking fee of 60 rand per day (less than $4/day) at a major chain hotel in the middle of a large metropolis is a "scam" needs a reality check. Staff was extremely helpful, and food from restaurant was very good. Breakfast was simple, but had enough options for a good meal and staff was very attentive to provide coffee. The area was windy, and the wind was loud at night, but the wind was extremely bad the last few weeks with winds in excess of 60 mph. You're going to hear that wind, it was all over the city, and you can't fault the hotel for it. I put in earplugs at night like a normal person who adapts to circumstances and it was fine. If this person thought the area of the city was "not safe" and a "bad dangerous part of town," they live a very sheltered life. No red flags for me, and I've traveled to more than a hundred countries. There was a trendy coffee shop outside and a bookshop within a few blocks that I had no issues walking to with my family. If it's a super dangerous part of a town, there aren't hipster coffee shops or bookstores. Wifi was fine, and if it wasn't I'm sure my 14 or 16 year old would have very loudly let me know. Sockets were fine for charging as well. The hotel is not in the main, touristy part of town, but getting there only required getting the free shuttle to the waterfront. Each time we wanted to take it during business hours, it was immediately available. If not, Uber was about $5. In short, if you accept that you're not staying in the waterfront area, this hotel was great.…
Great Hotel which has not lost its hospitality over the covidsituation. Great room. Great burgers. Great atmosphere. The location is the minus point as you will have to get around by Uber/car. As this is what most people would do anyway in this city this was no issue for me. It's just if you want to leave your Hotel and walk around the area this is not the location you would pick. I had a great stay and will hopefully be back again.
Another fantastic stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Cape Town. A faultless check in, a great room and a tasty Breakfast. What more can you need?, add to that a great team and you have a wonderful two nights away. Will definitely return next I visit the Cape.
As an individual that has been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, I can honestly say that the staff at this property is going above and beyond. From the front desk, over housekeeping to breakfast, the staff truly cares about your experience and ensures you have everything that you need. As a former Hotel General Manager, it is not easy to operate a well managed hotel. I personally spoke with the GM to applaud him for his hospitable team.
I was appreciative to the fact that as Gold member I was upgraded to a loft suite, although I only booked a standard room. Check in was fast and effective. Gold member benefits was as always, greatly honored. Room service was great every night we ordered. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned. Breakfast offered ample servings both hot and cold. Check out process was seamless. Consider the fact that COVID is still around, bad culture and stigma did not stop staff to offer great service. Keep up the good work
Thank you to the entire staff for making this a great trip. We were able to Uber around from this location. Breakfast was great abd the staff were very friendly. Facilities were clean, comfortable and spacious. Again, thank you!
I feel the customer service at this hotel is one of the best in capetown. From checkin staff were welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and quality of food was exceptional. Room were best, clean and I’ll definitely be back in the near future
Went for a quick get away as we had a function in town and didn’t want to drive back home. Got back to the hotel quite late, but was still able to order food there and we had THE best burgers there. Followed by the most comfortable sleep in a King size bed. It was a great time and I’m looking forward to get back
The dining room staff and hotel driver was wonderful. They were helpful, friendly, professional and provided excellent customer service. Most of the front desk staff was great too! The hotel room was clean, nicely equipped and had a great view. The only down size was dealing with the front desk supervisor, Ashiqah and the room manager, Mr. Werner. These two people provided the worst customer service that I have ever experienced from hotel staff. They were rude, apathetic and went out of the way not to help. The GM was not responsive to my requests for a call back. I'll never stay at this hotel again. There are so many better stay options in Cape Town.
