Arlene the owner was available from beginning to end, very accommodating, without being intrusive. A really pleasant stay in a homely, tastefully furnished and fully equipped environment.. central and convenient to all parts of CT. Thank you Arlene.. will definitely be back.
Thank you.
Best regards

Group of 4 stayed 4 nights in August 2013. Pepper Cottages didn't have space for all 4 of us so they arranged for 2 of us to stay across the street at a similar accommodation. Both places were excellent, very clean, very comfortable. We just wish we could have stayed longer. We appreciated the great suggestions of places to see and places to eat. Couldn't have asked for more. VERY highly recommended!!!!

Traveling from Johannesburg to Cape Town twice a year is always a challenge if you plan on doing it with 4 doggies. Arlene was so accommodating and gave us the best recommendations. Our stay in the red pepper cottage was perfect. The room was clean, the space was great and the kitchen well equipped for this kind of stay. The doggies were very comfortable with a large garden to occupy them whilst we went out for dinners etc. Thank you Arlene, we really wish you the best!! see you soon again! We spent 6 nights at Pepper Cottage, checked in afternoon of 19 Dec into self-catering cottage. Morning of 22 Dec was awakened early (around 7h30 which by holiday standards is early for a Sunday morning) by sprinkler system noise right outside our bedroom, Arlene said she has to make use of nice weather (never mind paying guests being awakened early). 23 Dec I phoned her and asked if can use braai facilities and if okay if my daughter, husband and child can join us. She said it's fine. That evening, first and only time during our stay, wifi did not work, I wonder why. It was still early evening and we put our grandson's feet in the pool and when mom took him out, he threw a tantrum. Immediately blinds/windows were closed in main house, like we are making such a racket. The little one's tantrum lasted max 1min outside and then we took him inside so as to not disturb host and other guests. Outside lights were switched off while we were still braaiing, leaving us to stand outside in the pitch darkness using the torches on our cellphones to check on meat on the fire!! Left such a sour taste, if the host did not want to have guests of guests on the property, she should have told me so (I, out of courtesy, phoned to check with her first at least.) Not once during our stay did we give any reason to think that we are loud, misbehaving, obtrusive, taking advantage ... in actual fact up until eve of 23 Dec, we basically just slept at the cottage. So to have wifi switched off (just in case guests uses up data because that's what people of colour do) and switching off outside lights leaving us in the pitch darkness by the braai area (just in case we were planning on partying outside late into the night because that is what people of colour do) contributed overall to the poor rating I am giving. I will definitely not recommend Pepper Cottages to my friends and family. The saying "people will forget what you said or did, but they will not forget how you made them feel" is powerful and so true. So I would suggest to bear that in mind for future guests please, as not everyone will be as honest as I am by firstly giving a review and secondly giving an honest and constructive review.

How unfortunate to have your holiday spoilt by miscommunication. 1. Irrigation is on a timer and it is best to water the garden in the morning 2. WIFI is never switched off - as the cottages were full. All it takes is to reboot the system if you find it sluggish or you cannot connect. Red Pepper Cottage has it's own booster so this would have not been a problem 3. The light you refer to around the braai is a sensor light which is for the Yellow Studio, the braai light is above the braai and has to be switched on. As I was unaware of when you were having your braai with family and was not on the property after 17h00 you could have given me a call just as you call to confirm the using of the facilities and the problem would have been resolved. 4. I have never been know to close my windows/curtains only thing that gets closed is the back door so the dog doesn't go out or we are off the property. 5. If I remember correctly on this particular day we were off the property by 9:30 returned at 15h30 and then were out from 17h00 to 22h00 - so regarding your little one we were not aware of this occurrence. To summaries I am always available if I am at home, the front door is always open or just a phone call away. I try to greet guests each day and ensure they are happy and if they require anything and then like to leave them alone to enjoy themselves and not interfere. But I do remember that you were gone most mornings early and back late at night and therefore this was difficult to impose.

We found this hidden gem 9 cape Town. We just don't have enough good things to say..we rented both cottages for a family group. The cottages are completely turn key and we'll appointed and beautifully decorated. Arlene our host was super and we felt like we were visiting old friends. We had complete privacy and she was always avl with great recomendatios for our needs. We will be repeating customers on all our future trips to Cape Town. 5 star in all aspects.

From start to finish this was the perfect stay. After making the original booking I had to amend the dates , Arlene couldn’t have been more helpful.
On our arrival we had a lovely welcome , and all the facilities explained . Our cottage was great with a seating area at the front and then access to the pool and garden from the bedroom .
There is helpful information in the cottage itself but Arlene was on hand if we had any queries about anything , and a great local knowledge. We had a medical issue in the first few days and without asking Arlene was offering help.
We hired a car , the cottage has secure off street parking and is in a great location for getting around the Cape area.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would highly recommend if you are visiting this area

A lovely stay. Peaceful. The host and her son treated us with a braai and we enjoyed it very much. a True pet friendly stay! My only problem was the lights indoor. Due to my eye sight, I found it difficult to work with the position of the lights and the strength of the bulbs. I surely will stay at Pepper Cottages again when visiting Cape Town again! Next time i will bring my costume. The pool looked inviting and the water was lovely!

A very spacious and comfortable cottage at an unbeatable price. This will be my preferred accommodation for all my business trips to Cape Town. Located in a quiet area, with easy access to all of Cape Town, this accommodation exceeded all of my expectations.

I want to say a huge thank you to the owners of Pepper Cottage, we took a wrong turn on our drive down and ended up arriving very late at night, they kindly waited up for our arrival, helped us settle in and let us sleep late the next morning before proceeding with the check in. We really enjoyed our stay and felt so welcome and were treated like family, we got wonderful tips on where to go exploring and the best times and places for site seeing, any future visits to Cape Town will definitely have us returning to stay in our 'home away from home'

Room was as described and pictured on website. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Ideal size for single person, with good amount of storage space. Safe location. Spotlessly clean. A home away from home. Would rebook. All equipment in good working order.
