Aiden & I and another couple stayed at Camping Notre Dame for 5 nights. We received a warm welcome to a nice clean and organized campsite. The accommodation was spotless clean and comfortable. The site is within easy walking distance to the town of Castellane. The family that run this campsite were very attentive and helpful. We will be back!
Arrived here after 6 days touring in southern France. The guy that checked us in could not have been more helpful. Gave us great info about the surrounding area, great english. Facilities great, very clean good location. We put a wash on and hung it out and went out for a walk and dinner when we came back late the washing had been taken off the line and left at our door dried and in a plastic bag when we came back. Good spot and good value.
We stayed at the Camping Notre Dame for 6 nights . It’s a beautiful place and surroundings(Castellane is a lovely little quiet town) . The houses are very clean and fully equipped. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely will come back there soon.
Very nice reception by Phillipe. The site is shaded and though at the side of the main road not noisy. We had booked a caravan of "+5 years". Indeed it was - nearer to 25 years though! It showed its age and wear over the years. It was cold at night due to lack of insulation and we needed the heaters on full at times - but it was September. The caravans of this age on this site would not be on sites in the UK, and should be replaced ours was that bad. We stayed because Castellane and the Gorges Du Verdon are absolutely fantastic places to go, and I would strongly recommend them. I am sorry to Phillipe for these comments but we have to say as we see it.
The campsite is situated about 600m from the little town of Castellane. It has free WiFi in certain areas and a small communal BBQ area outside the main reception which has a small shop which in the high season stocks necessities. We arrived in mid season so was very basic. We stayed in a superior mobile home which was comfortable enough but the only downside was the kitchen area.....no oven, just a microwave and hob, no tea towels,no cleaning liquids, no grill or toaster but you can buy a toaster for €10 from the local casino . Apart from that we had a fantastic time and will definitely be revisiting maybe with our tent next time as I noticed the shower block and toilets were spotless and there is an area to wash your clothes and dry them for a couple of €.
