The hotel is located in a small historic village along the via francigena. Rooms are spacious and clean, Good variety of food for breakfast. In our room the floor was quite slippery and a few steps gave access to the bathroom. This may be dangerous, particularly at night.

Lots of old charm in the Hotel. Beautiful, spacious and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Bathroom clean and modern.

We were spoiled with Lunch - we loved Leonardo.
Dinner was on the terrace, wide variety of local food! Tasty!

We walked the Via Francigena and asked for a early checkout, so they also arranged us a special breakfast and packed lunch.

Location a bit out of the way of the Via Francigena, but still a lovely place to stay

I booked this hotel together with two friends to visit the region. The hotel is beautifully located in the landscape. From the start the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a nice room with ample room, and very clean. Breakfast at this hotel was good. Overall I would recommend this hotel to travelers.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on a trip through Tuscany. Was a little irritated when we got there to find that we had to lug our heavy cases up 4 flights of stairs (no lifts) but once I got over this all was good. Nice big bathroom!

Terrace overlooking the valley is great for drinks in the evening and staff are super friendly.

We didn’t eat at the hotel, we found a restaurant about 2 mins away called La Valserena - with the most delicious pasta!

All in all it was a nice stay, pool would be great as it was very hot.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights the first week in May. We are budget friendly travelers who love a good deal. We thought the price for this hotel was great. We wanted to stay in Tuscany as we were driving to different villages and it was only 30 minutes to Siena.

The restaurant serves breakfast in the mornings and was very good. They served sliced meat, cheese, cereal, yogurt, cakes, salad etc. and the best cappuccinos. The breakfast room is nice enough but we were the only ones to take a tray and bring our food up to the garden terrace. It had gorgeous views of the area. We ate dinner one night at the hotel and enjoyed it very much. One of our nicer meals in Italy.

We had a basic double room. It was on the second floor and looked out the side over the front entrance of the hotel and into the gardens. If you stuck your head out you could see the fields across the road. There was also a window in the washroom. Parking was just on the other side of the road.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel for any budget traveller or someone looking for a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

Very comfortable, all staff were very helpful but in particular Leonardo was very flexible and helpful as was the owner, his father. A family run business and it shows that they care about the experience of their customers. Central location for driving around Tuscany. Great food, very pleasant atmosphere, clean rooms, outdoor terrace. Lots of space, authentic Italian decor - we felt like we were in our own Italian villa. Definitely recommend.

If you have a car, the hotel is no more than a 15 minute drive to Siena, through of couple of very small villages and the Tuscan countryside... providing for a picturesque "commute" that is not at all unpleasant! Plus, there is a large (and free) parking lot across the street from the hotel so you don't have to worry about where to put your car.

We had the quad room for our family of four and it was updated, spacious, clean with very comfortable beds. The bathroom was small, but functional and updated, too. The buffet-style breakfast in the morning was more than adequate with a selection of fresh cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, pastries, breads, etc.

The staff was friendly and accomodating, the WiFi reliable and fast enough for our needs, the air conditioning did it's job nicely and quietly. There seemed to be bicycles for use (at what rate I don't know) which you could use to explore the countryside - definitely would have given that a go had we stayed more than one night.

Recommended without hesitation!

Stayed 1 night in May 2014 as part of a wider 51 day trip through parts of Europe. Paid €69 pn for each double motel room. Twins pushed together with king sheets, etc. Rooms 106 (grd flr) and 223 (2nd flr). Room 106 was larger and had a kettle and cups, etc. Room 223 did not. Both cost same price. Both included breakfast which comprised cold cheeses and meats as well as toasts, cereals, fresh juices, fresh hot made drinks, yoghurt, etc.

We considered it good value for the price paid. Staff friendly & most spoke English.

Both rooms were a little old looking however were clean & had AC, Heating, Fridge, Mirrors, Small wardrobe, LCD TV on wall (that didn’t work very well in either room & no English channels). Neither room had a balcony.

Bathrooms were private & very small size. Toiletries provided were soaps & shampoo. Hairdryer provided. Shower was very small but good point was it was on its own base with glass doors - water pressure was average.

Parking is free at dedicated parking directly across the road and heaps of it (also lit at night, very safe).

WiFi free in reception area only. You can pay for wifi if you want it in your room or at the restaurant. No pool.

This property is on the old wall of a very old, old town that only takes about 10 mins to walk around (if that). We couldn’t find any other eating places other than the restaurant at the hotel; in saying that, it is an extremely ambient restaurant. The only issue, a very small one, was the food took a very long time to prepare - but once it arrived it was really well presented, tasty food at very reasonable (on the cheaper side) prices. We all enjoyed our meals here very much and the house red wine was very nice.

It is approx 15km to Siena so if you have a car this is not an issue. It was beautiful and quiet at night.

Overall, we would give this 3.5/5 stars. We would stay again but also happy to look for somewhere new as well. If the wifi worked in a wider area and faster (was slow to average and a little intermittent), the rooms were more consistent in what they offered for the same price, etc, we would upgrade this to 4/5 stars.

My husband and I were traveling to our rental in Montalcino when we were diverted by high waters due to heavy rains. At the last minute we had to find a place for the night. Having passed this Hotel earlier, we went back and lucky for us they were able to accomidate us. We were SO happy to see the Trip Advisor sign on the door. What a surprise we had! It was an amazing hotel. Clean. Spacious. Great restaurant. And very reasonable. We had dinner and breakfast was included in the stay. Huge spread of food. The owner, his son and Jessica were so generous and helpful. Trip Advisor has never steared me wrong. Thanks to all at Hotel Borgo Antico.
