We spent five nights at this 15th century villa which has been masterfully turned into a stunning hotel. The location is an easy train journey to Florence, or a great base for road tripping to the many villages and medieval towns of Tuscany. We loved the buffet breakfast with so many hot and cold options, and dining in the armoury rooms was always a pleasure. The treat of our stay was the tour of the Serrestori family apartments and wine cellars before a wine and olive oil tasting like no other with the amazing Anna. We hope to return to Villa Casagrande one day and highly recommend anyone stay several days here to fully enjoy the outstanding hospitality and ambience.

This hotel is one of the most beautiful place I ever stayed at. We had a suite which was very affordable, beautiful and comdortable. The restaurant is also absolutely delicious. Where I only put 4 stars is that there is room for improvement : there is no bar (until the restaurant opens around 18h) so if you are enjoying the pool you can not as well enjoy a drink. The pool definetely doesn't have enough sun chairs and the staff does nothing about people "reserving" them. The suite was located above the restaurant and when it closed, every evening, the staff was not being the most discreet and we could really hear them shout and laugh and scream. The housekeeping was the bare minimum. We were there 10 days and the tub has not been cleaned once. On the week end there were also a wedding reception in the restaurant space without informing the other guests which was obviously pretty loud as well.
Nevertheless the price quality is outstanding and the location of this hotel is wonderful if you plan to use your car to visit the region. We will definetely come back and had an amazing time.

We had a lovely stay as a family of 12 this June while on a family tour. A few weeks before arrival, I had emailed the front desk to ask a few questions about laundry service and received swift, friendly responses. The property is stunning - the gardens are truly picturesque. A walk across the street and uphill lead you to the outdoor pool which has a really beautiful view. We ate two dinners at the hotel restaurant that were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed walking out the back gate and down the narrow street into the town square where we enjoyed another meal, gelato, and watching the locals. Since we visited larger cities, this was a slower paced location which offered more peace and relaxation. The spa and indoor pool was under renovation during our stay, but I'm sure they will be enjoyable once opened. Our rooms were clean and had everything we needed plus beautiful french doors to open. The staff have exceeded our expectations again and again. After our departure, my mom was trying to replicate one of the meals we at at the Villa. I emailed the front desk again, and with some additional effort (permission and information from the kitchen), they actually provided the recipe to me! We were blown away.

Amazing, historical palace from the 14th century.. the set up and location is actually great ..the courtyard is peaceful and quite .. food is pretty ok .. service within the hotel and restaurant is actually more than decent ... so why disappointing ? Well
.. we choose this “classy, premium” location because of the advertised outside pool .. the outside pool is open to everyone .. not only hotel guests .. and when you want to have a relax week end .. and find yourself confronted with dozens of loud teeny primates .. it’s difficult to enjoy anything.. really wrong policy if the hotel .. which is actually a great business / convention place .. not at all leisure / private / adult.

We stayed at the Columbaia suite. Amazing suite but the airco was not the best. But the staff is! They brought an extra ventilator with dry ice so the room had a good temperature. Also the house cleaning was great. The staff really knows how to make u feel welcome! Breakfast buffet is great.

Ideally situated place with a lot of atmosphere at the fringes of the centro of Figline Valdarno. So you can make a nice evening stroll through the lifely town with a nice piazza. We had a comfortable stay there, with its garden and many yards and arcades it has a lot of atmosphere. We had booked a family room which had an extra room with a kitchenette in case one is not prone to eat every night a complete dinner at the "Convivio".

A big plus was the wine tasting!! You will get to know a bit of history of the hotel and get to taste nice wine!

The hotel itself has a lot of character, you don’t see that very often. The staff was, although we were one of the first guests after the reopening of Corona, very helpful and tried their hardest to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The city of Figline and the train station is at walking distance, so for a drink or a cheap meal you can go to the town square. Firenze (Florence) is only a 30 min train ride away.

All in all a great experience!! :)

Dear Mrs. Kelly, we thank you for this wonderful review. I speak on behalf of the whole staff of Villa Casagrande when I say that during this re-opening we found some amazing people like you are, whom was aware of the challenges and difficulties we were facing but kept supporting us with understanding. Our thanks for you will never be enough. We hope we can meet again in Villa Casagrande when these terrible times will be behind us. Roberto

We thoroughly enjoyed the staff and the grounds. The Sommelier Anna was amazing on our wine tour; so knowledgeable about the property. We wanted to return the next day for a pizza class but we ended up getting a stomach bug from something we ate at the restaurant so we couldn't get out of bed. The hotel is located near the town square (about 10 minute walk). The views once you leave the property are SPECTACULOR; exactly what I envisioned in the mountains of Tuscany. It was so quiet at night and walking the grounds was fantastic. We even enjoyed a few bottles of wine in the garden at night under the stars.

Since this is a refurbished property it did smell a bit which did not help my fiancé's allergies. We wished they had something in the room to get rid of the smell. We were extremely disappointed that we got a note just a week or so before our stay that the indoor pool was closed as that is what made us book this location so that we can enjoy a nice indoor swim. They should have given us a break on the rate for this as it was too last-minute for us to take time to research another location.

Traditional hotel laundry services (which cost a bit). No DIY in hotel but you might find a laundromat in town (it's located in the centre) or nearby, especially if you have a car. In fact I remember there being a laundromat near the Coop around 5 minutes by car from the hotel.
