Myself and my friend took advantage of the no quarantining rules from amber list country's and booked a last minute holiday with Jet 2 to Kavos/Corfu travelling on the 19th July. Our original hotel cancelled so Jet 2 found us a similar hotel and we weren't disappointed! On arrival we were greeted by the most charming and funny receptionist (Yiannis) and he gave us a detailed run down of the hotels rules and amenities. We had to pay local hotel tax which was about 10 euros, also paid for the safe and air conditioning, worked out to roughly 35 euros each for everything so pleasantly surprised. Our room was basic but had everything we needed. There is a kettle and fridge so that was me sorted for my cuppas! There was an ironing board but no iron but I did take my own iron anyway, you can probably hire these if needed. Aircon was good and no problems with the shower, the room itself was secure and safe and had a small terrace with table and chairs where we could sit and relax with a drink. We were half board so breakfast and evening meal was provided, this was buffet style and always something different to chose from. They do have a bar menu for during the day so you wont go hungry! A nice big pool and smaller pool with plenty of sunbeds was a plus, we spent most of our time relaxing round the smaller pool which was ideal to dip in and out of as it was super hot everyday. We did go to the beach once which was a short walk away and just as nice, plenty of beach bars along the way so something for everyone. You have the famous strip a short walk away but due to not many younger ones being able to travel it was actually enjoyable (we're both 50's). Spent most nights in the Streetz bar and Scorers where we were made to feel welcome and were treated like regulars by the end of our week. I have to say that even through the current situation and the difficulties they must be facing the locals were so welcoming, appreciative and always polite, we felt very humbled to be around them and treated as we were. Overall our weeks holiday at the Olympion Village was up there with one of our best holidays and this was down to the locals and especially the staff at the hotel who are working tirelessly in such difficult circumstances. We were made to feel so welcome from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. We want to give a personal thankyou to Elena, Paraskevi, Spiros and Narkissos (hopefully spelt them right) the bar and restaurant staff who were always polite, welcoming and nothing was ever any trouble, thankyou again! Also to Sofia, what a beautiful person who again made us feel so welcome whether she was just passing or serving us in the shop and behind the bar, big hugs! A big shout out and thankyou to everyone I have missed, including all reception staff, cooks, housekeepers and everyone involved in making our stay at the Olympion Hotel so enjoyable. Just needed to mention the local Dr who did our covid test on the Sunday (legend) hope you enjoyed your takeaway :) We will definitely be retuning and cant wait! Dorothy & Tracey

Property's Favourite Review
Was a lovely side of Kavos without the parties happening, empty beaches, hotel was quiet, the staff were still extremely friendly & made it a lovely atmosphere, all truly lovely people. Dinner each night was delicious & relaxed. We were offered room & half board upon arrival (breakfast was already included) - an extra €70 per person, for dinner from a set menu each night so €10 per person per night extra for a 3 course meal - the set menu had a lot of variety and we went off it one or two of the nights & it was still so cheap - they still gave us our free starter, but we ordered the sea bass which we requested the night before, so they went & got fresh from the market -only €15 - delicious. Drinks were lovely & they had a big cocktail list that they actually made properly (some of the bars down at the beach will skip on things like coconut milk etc) but they didn't at the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was nice too - a good buffet selection, but served to you by the staff because of Covid restrictions. Try get down before 9am for the best selection or a lot of the fresh fruit is gone :) Rooms were large & had a decent size fridge if you wanted to keep your own water & drinks there. Only down side was no kettle for a proper cup of tea. Nice balconies with great views too, to have an evening pre dinner or post dinner drink. The air con is connected to a sensor so it wont work if your balcony door is open. Reception give you a list of all these features/instructions upon arrival. Pool was clean, there were a few loud young people but not the worst & the reception had a sign up saying if anyone came back drunk from a non socially distanced party they would be made to pay for their own Covid tests & asked to self isolate which was reassuring. 2 minutes walk down the hill for the strip/party area which was quiet enough this this year (thankfully) but it's conveniently located to be away from the madness & noise but very accessible to this, if that's your vibe. Air con was an optional extra charge, I think 80 for the week and then we also paid 20 for the week for a safe in the room, so on top of the room & half board this also included the Saturday bbq at the hotel where they have BBQ & Greek dancers which was a great night. I also remember there's a tourism tax on the room too, but it's to offset the environmental effects caused by tourism, which is fine by me, was only 10 euro or something for the week, not a hidden cost & not something that's up to the hotel. They let you know everything upon arrival. Will definitely come back based on this years trip!

The hotel is too good for the price we pay! The stuff is so friendly, the food is excellent, the man on the bar is the most friendly and kind person, the island in like a postcard! And as a result, I am in love with Corfu

Myself and 5 other girls stayed at this hotel from 4th- 11th September. Our board was bed and breakfast (managed to wake up in time for breakfast most mornings). Upon arrival we paid extra for aircon and the safe in the room, a bit hard to work out how to use them at first but we got the hang of it. We were also asked to pay a 40 euro deposit each for damage that we were told we would get back at the end of our stay as long as nothing in our rooms were damaged. This was slightly inconvenient as we then didn't have that to spend during the week although we did all receive the full amount back at the end. We asked a few other groups at the hotel if they had been asked for this deposit and they said no so there must be a criteria for who they ask for it and who they don't. The hotels location is about a 5 min walk from the main strip however the walk is downhill on the way there then uphill on the way back (not so fun at 2am). However the location was good for us as during the day we were able to relax and when we returned in the evenings we could not hear any noise from the strip. Food for breakfast was good, served by the staff because of COVID. We ate there for lunch almost every day, the lunch menu was big and had lots of choice we usually went for the likes of toasties, baguettes, chips etc. Lunch meals were also very reasonably priced (about 3.50 for a baguette). Cocktail menu at the bar next to the pool had a great menu, very large selection including frozen cocktails such as vodka slush, strawberry daiquiri, which were made very well and tasted great. The rooms were spacious and had lovely views, we had ground floor rooms and we could see the sea from our terrace which made for lovely backgrounds for our pictures! Bathroom slightly dated but nothing too bad everything was still perfectly functioning and did the job although we never did work out how to use the TV. Be careful not to leave food out on the floor in the rooms or on your terrace as ants tend to flock to any food left there. Every night we would take the walk down to the strip and there was a great selection of restaurants to eat at. We would then go to the different bars many of which had great deals on and cheap drinks. Due to COVID they had to close at 12 so people would congregate outside and often go to the beach after as this was rather early to head back to the hotel. During the day we would just relax round the pool, the pool was a great size very big. There was always sun loungers available and we always had space to all sit together. We also booked some excursions through the shops on the strip, highly recommend taking a trip to the blue lagoon, we did this with crazy speedboat and it was amazing. We also did a day trip to a water park as well, the coach journey was very long but it was a good day out, hardly any queues so got lots done. Overall would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay for a girls/lads holiday in Kavos as it was close enough to the strip to still have a party holiday whilst still being a relaxing place to chill during the daytimes.

Booked this at the last minute due to Tenerife being cancelled at the last minute because of travel restrictions. The hotel was nice, although up a very steep hill, which isn't fun at 2am when walking back from the bars. The experience itself was just okay. We arrived rather late, and was told we would not be getting a room clean unless requested the day before (but we could not request every day there and then) and 50 euros for the Aircon which is absolutely ridiculous.. after complaining about this, a gentleman came and gave us a key for the Aircon. We went bed and breakfast, the food was exactly the same every day. Tasteless and no hash browns or decent sausages. The staff were nice, and were constantly cleaning the public areas. Plenty of sunbeds, although lots of hornets around the pool area. Room was up a hill which was a bit of a nightmare. Won't return as kavos really isn't for me. But was a nice break away from the stupid UK restrictions.
