The one and two-bedroom villas were next level. Very beautifully decorated with a separate lounge, kitchen and pool deck with loungers and couches. I could have spent all day on that deck with its gorgeous plunge pool, listening to the sounds of the ellies at the waterhole. The game drives and ranger were very good as was the food. These would be amazing for self-catering but all our meals were included and they were very good. They have a fantastic hide where one can watch the ellies and other wildlife. The management was great. I could not fault this property.

We are just back from a great trip to SA. We spent 4 nights in Inkwe - Villa atvRockfig Lodge Madikwe. It was an outstanding experience. All the phantastic people spoiled us from the minute we arrived to the minute we hat do leave the Lodge. We enjoyed a wonderful hospitality, a super cool Villa, delicate food (NEVER before we had such delicious meals in a Lodge) , amazing Game Drives with breathtaking sightings of the magnificent 7, including Cheetah and Wild dogs. We were lucky to see 2 times a leopard and lions in their mating season. Thanks to our Guide thanks to the Chef plus the whole kitchen Team! Thank you , Luyanda and thanks to all the staff in front or behind the scene. We loved your kindness, your warmhearted spoiling , your always being there for us and our little Grandson. Thanks for making our special anniversary so unforgettable.

This was our 2nd time visiting Rockfig lodge and again it did not disappoint. From Reder the GM, to Pauline and Lulu the hospitality hosts, Silas our excellent guide, to Lisego the chef with her amazing meals and skills, right through to the attention to detail and the clean villas..we could not fault it. Well worth the 5 star rating and we will definitively visit Rockfig again...

Rockfig Madikwe is absolutely exclusive and outstanding. Our Villa called Tshukudu was extremely spacious, beautifully decorated with a private boma and pool. There is great lounge , bar , boma area and pool. The cuisine was fantastic and the service was outstanding. What a memorable game drive experience. I would highly recommend Rockfig Madikwe.

What a wonderful experience! I cannot fault the wonderful accommodation and customer service from the team at Rockfig. They catered for our family wonderfully and the food was plentiful and delicious. Our safari guide, Hanru, was exceptional in his knowledge and his ability to inform and entertain our kids. He has trained each of them up to be excellent trackers! We feel very lucky to have seen most of the big game on the reserve - lions, elephants, cheetah, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, giraffe etc etc. Just the hunting dogs and leopards eluded us! The accommodation is modern and very comfortable - better equipped than our house back home. We loved the water hole/hide to view animals at leisure. The reserve is largely thickets of spiky bushes/trees, so not so much open plains or river (no hippo) - but the wildlife is abundant and the experience unforgettable! Thank you Team Rockfig!

We just finished an amazing 3 day stay at Rockfig. The lodge is beautiful, the staff super friendly and attentive, and the food is abundant & delicious! The safari drives were unforgettable thanks to our diligent and adventurous ranger, Stephan. We saw the painted dogs 3 times, (the first time we came upon them finishing their kill & got an extended viewing of these elusive beauties) and unreal lion action. We had multiple close up encounters with 4 different male lions, not to mention cheetahs, hyenas, rhinos, elephants, water buffalo and many more. AM drives ended with a hot drink and a variety of baked goodies and PM drives ended with a delicious “sun downer” drink of your choice and snacks - both out in the Bush where you could enjoy the scenery (and in our case some curious elephant bulls!). Stephan was very knowledgeable and engaging. Returning to the lodge after PM drives you are greeted by the wonderful hosts, Chene and Neo, with a hot towel and special drink. The meals, courtesy of the lovely Chef Jessica, were all fresh and healthy (with plenty of opportunity to over indulge: Breakfast before and after your drive, lunch, high tea and 3 course dinners.). We were a family of 5: my husband, our two teenagers, and my mother (who will be 81 in January!). Everyone loved it. We stayed in the Inkwe family house, which is a huge house with 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, huge living/dining rooms and kitchen, unbelievable decks all around, your own barbecue and pool area and a lookout deck over a watering hole! We were worried it might be too far from the dining lodge for my mom but she had no problem on the walking path. We enjoyed every minute and can’t wait for our next visit.

Beautiful and clean villa, extremely friendly staff especially restaurant and kitchen staff. Unfortunately did not get to see much on the game drive but our ranger Honest, was very kind and knowledgeable about the animals we got to see. The morning coffee with amarula was great. In the afternoon game drive, we stoped for a drink and served with a Beer . On check out we were asked to pay extra charge for it. Considering the rate per night in this resort this is something management should reconsider

It was our second time at Rockfig Lodge. We had an amazing time. The accommodation is beautiful with so much attention to detail in the rooms and in the lodge. The staff are all very kind. Our guide Honest was brilliant. I cannot recommend it highly enough. We have been on many safaris but this time the viewings were outstanding. Rockfig rocks!!

The attention to detail at Rockfig Lodge is immaculate! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and we are so happy we did! We love that Rockfig Lodge is more on the smaller side, which means less people at the Lodge, more one-on-one attention, and a more private experience during game drives. The staff at the Lodge are all very friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and happy with their service. Be prepared to feel like royalty at Rockfig, with welcome drinks upon arrival and after every game drive, tons of food--trust me you will not go hungry if you opt for the all-inclusive package! At one point, we were the only couple in the lodge and the wonderful staff took it upon themselves to surprised us with a private dinner and bonfire at our villa! Keep in mind that this lodge is still new. They opened about three years ago, but two of those years, they were closed due to COVID-19, so, they are not as well-known as the other lodges in Madikwe. For that reason, I am happy to do my part and help get their name out there, because I know for certain that they are well on their way to becoming the best lodge in the area! Rockfig has one of the best views in Madikwe. It is situated on a mountain top, which makes for amazing sunrise and sunset views. Don’t get me started on the villas; they are super modern and perfectly decorated with African-theme touches. Lastly, we wanted to give a huge shoutout to our Ranger, Honest, the staff member that we spent the most time with. I appreciate the little details, like having hot water bottle compress to keep your body warm during cold morning game drives and blankets! I also like that their game vehicles have a top cover for sun protection. One of my favorite memories from the trip are the sundowners and morning coffee stops in the bush. Honest was very friendly and we truly enjoyed getting to know him a bit. He is so knowledgeable and took us to, what seems like, every corner of the reserve. We would drive so far off, that no other game drive vehicle would be in sight for miles and miles. Thanks to his passion and dedication, we were fortunate enough to see the Big 5 during out 3-night stay, yes, we saw the leopard!!! The hardest one to spot. We feel so fortunate and will never forget this trip. I hope to make it out there again, soon. Thank you to everyone at Rockfig, for making our stay so wonderful. I truly mean everyone, including those behind the scenes. Deisy and Jimmy
