We recently returned from a wonderful week in La Rosiere (3-10 Jan), with 7 of us (aged 12-51) staying in Apartment 166 at Le Tyrol. The accommodation was lovely and spacious, light-filled, warm and comfortable with everything you could need and more. Although I think we were the only English-speaking residents that week, we were well looked after with the manager Marina translating to us all the information given out at the welcome drinks, and she and the other staff had answered courteously all our earlier email enquiries. Booking through Le Tyrol also gave us substantial discounts on ski hire, lessons and especially lift passes.

We didn't have much time to make best use of the beautiful pool/sauna/jacuzi/gym, as the weather and snow were perfect and we skied every day. Although you cannot ski right to the door, it's only a 10 minute walk up a slightly sloping pavement to the ski lifts or you can catch the free shuttle buses outside the Tourist Information Bureau next door, up to La Rosiere lifts or down to Les Eucherts lifts. There is a good supermarket opposite and eating out was reasonably priced too.

We arrived early on Saturday morning via TGV night train from Paris to Bourg St Maurice and were able to leave our luggage outside our room, use the toilets/shower next to the pool room and go off for breakfast, before returning to get early access to our apartment at 11am. We had collected our hire skis and were on the slopes by mid-day.

We loved our stay at Le Tyrol. The welcome is warm and efficient and Marina speaks good English (to fill in the gaps in my rusty French!). We stayed in a studio for 3/4 people which was cosy but perfectly adequate for our needs. Warm and very sunny, we are never cold at La Rosiere, and we have been coming here for 8 years now. The pool, sauna, hamam and hot tub were a real bonus, though I did find it all a little chilly - the hot tub bubbles out cold water and the air temperature was a little cool! However, I wasn't well, so it might have been in part due to having tonsillitis. There were a lot of activities on offer at Le Tyrol as well, though my illness prevented me from joining in. The location is very convenient, being in the centre of the village, next to the Tourist Office and opposite the shops, and it's only a short walk to the slopes, to the ski hire and to the Pharmacy and doctor. It's also a short way away from the lovely forest walks. We will definitely be coming again - we have stayed at two other chalets in La Rosiere and this is now our top choice. Loved the style of the communal sitting room too. The garage was very convenient and kept our car ice free for the week. Thanks Marina and family!

Beautiful views from the South facing balcony, well designed interior, helpful and family-like staff; easy access to pistes, tracks, shops, it is the perfect location for families who count skiers and non-skiers of any age. If the weather is harsh (or to relax after a hard day's ski) there is a sizeable swimming pool with jacusi, sauna, steam bath, that welcomes kids and adults alike.

We have just returned from a fantastic week in La Rosiere staying in the excellent Le Tyrol. We arrived early on Saturday and we were made very welcome and promised they would get our apartment turned around as soon as possible. The apartment a 3 room 6 persons flat had a fantastic view over the valley with a large balcony facing south, The apartment was well appointed and in good decorative order, it was clean and all the equipment in the apartment worked. We enjoyed using the excellent pool and spa and sauna which was well managed and very clean, (it had a great view as well)
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent for the town and for skiing and the convenient ski room with included lockers very convenient.
The Appartment block included free wifi which worked well.
Great holiday, thank you Le Tyrol

Not very English family friendly, wi-fi very poor, €5 extra charge for washing machine even after paying £3000 for one weeks stay, some health and safety issues..... on the plus side great location, it has a pool and is opposite a great restaurant.

Our third consecutive stay in Le Tyrol and already reserved for next year. We stayed in one of the larger apartments for 8-10 people. Great accommodation which works well for two family groups staying together in the centre of La Rosiere. The accommodation is comfortable and spacious. We use the bedrooms only and don't use the sofa bed. Well appointed with lovely views. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna an added bonus for tired ski legs. Marina very friendly and efficient. La Rosiere a fantastic resort, good for families. Skiing into Italy and having the opportunity to enjoy both a French and Italian experience

Very friendly family run set up, comfy rooms, great views, nice pool. Location is good, close to shops, cafes and five minute walk to the slopes. Snow was poor, but no fault of le Tyrol! Excellent stay, thank you.

We had a family reunion at Christmas, with 10 of us. The flat was large and had more than enough room. staff were very helpful, sorting out some minor issues very quickly. The pool, sauna, hot tub etc were great and the kids had a wonderful time. A very central location (in a small resort) which was handy. literally opposite the supermarket which was useful for refreshment restocking... Picked up the ski passes from reception which made life easy. Not ski-in-ski-out but so near to the slopes that it didn't really matter. Also very short walk to the ski school. We saw the owners throughout our stay in the resort and on the slopes, both are also ski instructors and well known in the village. All-in-all a lovely place to stay and we had a memorable holiday.

Le Tyrol is a family-owned apartment chalet a few doors away from the Tourist Office in the middle of La Rosiere village. We stayed in an apartment sleeping 4-6 with beautiful views of the valley from our balcony. We were warmly welcomed by Marina at the desk on our arrival. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bathrooms clean and all amenities worked. The bedding was simple, quite firm matresses and pillows. The decor was comfortable and homely. We did struggle with Wi-Fi connection (all in our party had ipads - not sure if this made a difference). The pool and spa were a delight after a day on the slopes. Having our own equipment lockers made sure our gear was safe, however this area is perhaps on the renovation list - the dim lighting made it hard to see to fit and lace our unfamiliar hired snowboard boots and no heated boot-rack meant we had to take our boots upstairs and stack them on the heater in our bedroom to dry them out at night. Only one bathtowel was supplied per guest for the week. This was a problem when we used the pool and spa because of the lingering odour of chlorine on our towels. One member of our party requested a fresh towel at reception and although she got one, the attitude of the staff member was cool. Perhaps towels for exclusive use in the pool and spa room could be provided there. However, these are minor criticisms that have not affected our decision to return next year. We can't wait!

after 3 stays at the Panoramic, we opted for Tyrol this year. The location in the city center is very appreciable, as for the Panoramic; the apartments are very clean and functional. but it is above all the welcome and kindness of Marina and her colleague at reception that we want to highlight. Really adorable family, always ready to give hiking advice, and to share their love of the mountains. We know we will come back for another stay.
