Detailed Reviews
Spent a week with Willy Arpin and his family in their lovely hotel, the usual warm and genuine welcome. This hotel is the most amazing value for money, I defy anybody to find a better two star hotel in France. Especially if you're skiers or snow-boarders, the hotel is right next to the pistes, the beginners on one side, the kids area opposite and the main ski lift of the village just metres away. The hotel is immaculate, with a large bar/ well appointed lounge area, where breakfast is taken on the 3rd floor with marvellous views of the haute-tartaise.
The hotel is family run and was first built by Willy's grand-father in 1954, the family have run it ever since and many guests return year after year. Cannot recommend the hotel too highly! We're going back in March for some spring skiing.

The Hotel Relais du Petit Saint Bernard delivers on every level - Value for money, hospitality, comfort, cleanliness, welcome, food (especially breakfast) ambiance and stunning mountain views. I never tire of looking at Mont Pourri across the valley. This has to be the best value hotel I've ever visited but it's not just the value that keeps us returning year after year, it's the pleasure of seeing Willy Arpin (the owner) his family and all the friends we've made there.

Of all the resorts I've skied, just about every decent sized resort in Europe and some in North America, La Rosiere is the resort we come back to every year. The Relais is not like staying in an hotel, it's as if you're a guest of the family. The rooms are quiet, superbly clean and comfortable with a magnificent view from the south facing rooms, which also have very pleasant balconies for some afternoon sun. Something that is almost certain in La Rosiere. Breakfasts are special, always with Madame Arpin's homemade confiture and usually with one of Willy Arpin's special breads or cakes. I am absolutely certain that this hotel is not only the best value in France but also the friendliest.

We are a family of 6 and had a great week at the Petit St Bernard. The owner Willie Arpin is very helpful and made us feel welcome. The hotel is clean and tidy and the restaurant serves simple classic French dishes all of which were delicious. We love La Rosiere as you can ski to Italy so you have the benefit of the French and Italian slopes as well as cuisine. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Roc Noires lift and the resort is very easy and accessible. In the evening you can play pool and have a drink in an upper bar where everyone gathers with great views over the mountains. My boys loved the sauna area. Willie Arpin and his family could not have been more welcoming and helpful, we will definitely be going again.

Relais du Petit St Bernard was built by the present owner's grandfather - Jean Arpin in 1960 before La Rosiere was created. The hotel was a stop on the road to Italy the Col de Petit San Bernardo and over the years has been extended and upgraded as the resort has expanded, but it has always remained in the family's ownership. Jean Arpin was the prime mover in the creation of La Rosiere. So there is a long tradition of hospitality here, which Willy Arpin continues. There are many newer hotels with more stars, even a Club Med in the village but I'm certain none can match the Relais du Petit St Bernard for ambience, conviviality, service and friendship. In my opinion this hotel offers the best value in the entire region. It's position is superb, with magnificent views over the Haute Tarentaise from its south-facing rooms and the main ski-lift from the village only 60 metres away. There is parking located immediately to the front of the hotel with rapid access via the ski room entrance. What more can you ask for/

Very good meal Savoyard (very good value for money) , waitresses and welcome more than pleasant with a good sense of manners. Fast service and very good customer attention, with stunning views of the great Savoyard resorts. I recommend without hesitation.

An authentic and charming chalet/hotel ideally located at the foot of the slopes. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped with breathtaking views either of the valley (south side) or of the slopes (north side). Areas are dedicated to relaxation and relaxation for non-skiers. The welcome and professionalism of the Arpin family and the entire team will greatly contribute to ensuring that you have a very pleasant stay.

Once again Willy Arpin and his team at the Relais du Petit St Bernard have excelled themselves, the same warm welcome, the same friendly service, the same comfortable, spotless rooms, the same ambience and the same marvellous breakfasts, Thank you Madam Arpin for the superb home made confiture. On this occasion, it snowed non-stop from Thurs AM right through to my departure early on Sat. Willy helped me to dig my car out so I could get going. Bravo Willy et merci bien.

Great family-run hotel, the owners really make you feel at home. Spacious room and bathroom, nicely decorated, the beams give it a warm atmosphere (4th floor, lift available). Comfortable bed. Good lighting in the room. Temperature in the room can be controlled. Good shower. Magnificent view from the room and balcony (south). French/ continental breakfast. Perfectly situated for skiing (and some winter hiking), just a few steps from the slopes (uphill or downhill and escalators). Shops and restaurants on walking distance. We usually stay in hotels with more stars, but we were totally happy.
