A great place to stay, local to many local cider farms and places to visit such as Wells, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge all around 30 minutes drive or less. Rooms are nicely furbished although there is may be limited room to move around the bed but it's enough to get around and it is sooo worth it to fit in the lovely beds (in which I slept like a baby every night). En-suite is spacious enough for two to be in there and move around and a heated mirror helps to keep the steam clear too. Rooms are well ventilated and cosy to return to after a night in the bar : ) If you're an ale drinker, then look no place else! An amazing selection of tapped and canned beers (well into double figures) and they also serve Guinness, San Miguel, Amstel and Carlsberg too. For those cider lovers you have a huge selection of of carbonated and still traditional ones to choose from, I think there was a total of 9 available : ) Bar is quaint, cosy and full of lovely locals happy to welcome you to this lovely little place. All the staff both in the restaurant and the bar are amazing, friendly and always happy to have a chat. Jas and Sam were definitely a credit to the pub and were great to finish off the night with after a few (maybe too many at times) drinkies. Had a lovely chat with the Landlord too who was also very lovely and definitely made you feel welcome in his 'home'. Food was exceptional, the burger especial and the halloumi fries OMG! Just lovely. Unfortunately as we didn't book in advance, we only got to eat there the one night so it is always best to book in a few weeks ahead if you're wanting to eat there. Breakfast was nice, had the option of toast, fruit, cereal and various cooked options such as a full fry up, eggs benedict and others. Tea and fresh cafetiere coffee each morning as well as juices and water. We are already looking to book again for our anniversary and would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a few nights away or just passing through!

What can I say, firstly three of us visited so my adult daughter had her own room. The trip was to be relaxing and also to celebrate her birthday. On the Saturday night after a wonderful meal in the pub section we cheekily asked for an ice bucket for some wine we had bought elsewhere which they happily provided. Then the next day when we returned from a day out they had provided another bottle on ice with a note wishing Happy Birthday, a wonderful gesture. Anyway accommodation standard is excellent although the pipework was very noisy when neighbors were using water, but we had peaceful sleep so not a mark down for that. Breakfast was also quality with bacon and sausage being very tasty. The pub is a true real ale and cider winning many awards and an ever changing range of ales. Steve (The Manger) was great and worked so hard, the rest of the team also did a great job of being so friendly and helpful. The restaurant kitchen did some lovely meals and on our last night the braised rabbit was superb. All this but the pub atmosphere was boosted by the locals and regulars who are so welcoming. All in a lovely place in a good location and once the pipe noise is sorted was such a great find. Will be back.

We booked a week here and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable - huge comfy bed and large bathroom with a great shower. The staff at breakfast and in the bar and dining areas were all very welcoming and happy to help with any questions. Would definitely recommend The Crossways Inn and we will certainly be back!

The staff make this hotel/pub. Very friendly & helpful, nothing too much trouble. Evening meal was 5 star. Breakfast choice a bit limited, but good. Would like to see croissants & pastries at least, available for continental breakfast as an alternative. Breakfast is a highlight of most people's stays away, so quite important to make that a bit better. Very comfy Super King bed, nice bathroom with walk-in shower. Very clean. Fan in room welcome, as it was nearly 30 degrees! Upgrading to have air con' is a must to make this an exceptional B&B, but understandably, COVID would have made a dent in everyone's profits. Highly recommend and would definitely return if needed to be in that area again. It's nice to give a family business the custom rather than a 'chain' hotel. Support small businesses and they will look after you!!
