The hotel has a really beautiful garden setting, a big and spotless pool with a lifeguard, and big towels and comfortable lounge chairs and we had a balcony facing the back lawns with a small sea view - this made our visit even more enjoyable. The hotel is somewhat dated, but spotlessly maintained. Benicarló is a sleepy little town, but we enjoyed walking on the beach. A great dining room for dinner, for breakfast they need more adult cereal choices. Maven checked us in and out - she is an excellent Parador representative. Muy amable.

Thank you very much for your comments. We will like to let you know that this Parador is one of the first in the hotel chain. It was born in 1934 as a national hostel to give refuge to travelers who traveled in their primitive vehicles from Barcelona to Valencia or the south of Spain. They could only stay a maximum of 2 nights and there were mechanics and a gas pump. It is one of the 10 oldest Paradores. Regards

Very nice place to stay right on the Mediterranean. This is not a historical Parador like some of the Paradors, but is modern with a great location, within walking distance to the center of town. Our room was on the main floor, but there is an elevator to access the upper floor if necessary. Our room was somewhat dated, but very clean, quiet and comfortable with a big bathroom. The room had a safe and mini fridge available in the room. The room had a musty smell when the air conditioner wasn't on, or if we didn't have the patio door open to air out. The food served for breakfast and dinner was very good and didn't take long to get our order once we placed the order, but there were times when the staff was busy and it took us awhile to have someone take our order. Staff was always pleasant, spoke English, and worked very hard. It was great having free parking on the hotel lot.

With a reasonable price, Benicarló is the best option for Barcelona residents to enjoy a few days of tranquility and rest immersed in a magnificent blue and green environment, sea and garden. It also has good service provided by hard-working staff, a good kitchen and rooms that are large enough and well-equipped to meet the needs of the user. This was our sixth time staying at this hotel which shows how much we love it! We booked a suite overlooking the boardwalk and the sea and it was well worth the extra expense. The hotel is a beautiful smart white exterior with pastel interiors and a lovely garden and pool layout. The rooms are large and clean with excellent air con and wifi. The restaurant is great and we were able to eat outdoors on the terrace. On the second night we had a bar snack on the terrace which was lovely too. Breakfasts are fantastic - probably the best of all the Paradors we stayed in - with lots of choice and good service. It is busy with families of all ages who all seemed to be enjoying the experience. We will be back next year!

Large comfortable room with garden and sea views. The perfectly maintained hotel has direct access to the small beach of Benicarlo and a superb garden. We rented bikes from the hotel to go to Peniscola. Nice walk. I do not know the rates in high season, but in October, at 120€ per night with breakfast it is a very good service

Overall we had a great time in the Parador of Benicarló. It is located at the sea-side and at walking distance to the centre of the town and bus stops. It has a lovely and quiet garden to take a rest or read a book. The only minus is the bad soundisolation. At first we had a room at the ground floor. The upper neighbours decided to move around their furniture at 10 pm and move it again during the night, which seriously disturbed our sleep. We asked and easily got a room at the first floor, which was better, but still not really quiet. It would help if the chairs and table would have dampers or put on carpet as we have seen in other Paradors.

We were looking for a beach hotel with beautiful views, with swings and a children's pool. This parador covers all these requirements, and some aspects have been successfully renovated, such as the swings and the painting of the rooms. I had a junior suite reserved, they assigned me room 131. Given my disbelief upon entering, I went to reception and they confirmed that it was a junior suite. It doesn't match the photos on the website at all. The impression is that they have collected remains of furniture.
