Very cozy family hotel where you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. Very well located since it is 10 minutes from some very quiet coves for bathing. And it is a 15-minute walk from the port of Benicarlo and its beach, it has a supermarket nearby where you can buy food, the hotel gives the option of using a grill and a microwave, for those days when you prefer to have a quiet dinner at the hotel. In addition to the pool, it has table football and billiards, and board games. Dora and Paco gave us information about nearby places to visit and also nice places to swim in peace. Dora is an exceptional cook who cooks everything she serves for her breakfasts, which are abundant and very delicious. Every day she prepares different things for us and for me, who is celiac, she prepared gluten-free buns and desserts that she made herself. Sara always serves breakfast with a smile, the rooms are spacious and cool with fans and air conditioning, and they always left them spotless. Each and every member of the hotel is phenomenal. A place to keep in mind for a quiet vacation without complications and wanting to see tourist things nearby and take a swim in between. We will definitely return. She also taught me the dessert recipes that she makes in case I wanted to make them at home and told me that if I had questions I could call them. I loved the pond at the entrance with fish and the pond inside with turtles, it's a place to relax and be quiet and it has parking to leave your cars, and the hotel is located very close to the bus stops so if you want to forget about the car and be able to travel to Peñiscola or Vinaros. What I said above is a charming place.

Lovely and clean throughout. The hostess was extremely attentive and took the time to give us recipes of her lovely homemade bread and cakes. Breakfast was excellent value. It was the perfect antidote to the soulless chain hotels we experienced previously in our trip. Walking distance to town make it a great location also.

As soon as we arrived we felt at home, pampered by the hosts Dora and Paco, who are charming and give everything from the heart so that you can enjoy your vacation. The delicious breakfast, prepared with love (and gluten-free too). Quiet atmosphere, beautiful pool and cleanliness of 10. Looking forward to repeating.

We would not stay here again no recommend it.
It was in a weird area with a run down property right outside our window and on a a very busy road.
No frills. No restaurant, no breakfast,
Our room was tiny, barely enough room to turn and no where to put your bag or your toiletries in the very tiny bathroom.
The heat was blazing all night and the beds were very narrow. Terrible neon lighting.
Someone had to let you in at night, which was weird.
We would not return or recommend.

Hotel Sol is some way from the beaches of Benicarlo and on the main road through the town but don't let that put you off.

The welcome from the owner was warm and her insistence that we garage the car (free) was welcome even though I didn't see the need. She also recommended a couple of beaches depending on what we were looking for and despite the overcast sky I had a dip off the main town beach which was sandy and well populated. A welcome beer on the prom afterwards set us up for the evening.

The restaurant recommended was in the middle of a local housing complex and was the local social centre but the inside was clean and the food excellent and good value.

Although dated the room at the hotel was spotless with free wifi and a comfortable bed. We were woken in the early hours by noisy guests but that is hardly the fault of the hotel. Breakfast included home baked bread, cakes and home made jam. Very good value. The pool looked inviting but we had no time to try it out preferring the Med.

The hotel would have received an excellent from me had it not been for double charging of VAT (10%). Tax was supposed to have been included but was added and I didn't notice until well on our way. I have no way of knowing whether this was intentional or not. I hope not as the owner was most accommodating and anxious to make our stay as comfortable as possible and I would have been pleased to have paid the extra for garaging the car!

This hotel comes as a one star hotel but I would give at least three stars. Clean hotel throughout with good sized rooms and decent bathroom. A short walk into town for bars and restaurants and a good quality breakfast the next morning.

Excellent Mine Hosts who offered home made cake for petite dejeuner yand anything else that you required. Very easy to find, this hotel was a perfect overnight stopover on our journey to Southern Spain by car.
Off road parking, swimming pool, terrace and a lovely room all combined to make our stay very enjoyable. We were also sent on our journey with a jar of home made jam. That says it all really. Just excellent.

We stayed twice on our trip to and from Barcelona and enjoyed our stays. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the large rooms spotlessly clean.
The breakfast (6 euros per person) is well worth the price with fresh juice, lots of coffee, home made bread and cake and hot food made to order.
Very much a home from home.
The only thing missing was easier steps down into the pool.

The hotel is well situated for the local shops, restaurants, and bars. The owner was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble - we were very impressed that she made delicious gluten free bread and cake for breakfast. She also gave us some good suggestions of local bars and restaurants in the town where we could take our dog.

As it happened, the weather was sunny while I was here, but this is such a pleasant place to stay that one might say there is internal sunshine here anytime! The only reason I felt I couldn't give them five stars is that the walls were so thin, I could hear the neighbor snoring... but no big problem, I slept well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was average as far as variety, but far above average when quality is considered, with fresh-squeezed orange juice, hearty wholegrain bread, and homemade cake baked the same morning! Excellent service, and a parrot in the breakfast room for entertainment. Free parking, yet within walking distance to the town center. Modest price. Highly recommended!
