We had another wonderful stay at Alpha du Cap. Selfishly we would like to keep the place a secret, but seriously we want to share this with everyone! Alpha du Cap is perfectly situated in a quiet street near the hub of Bloubergstrand. It is smart, serene and calm. We love the fact that the atmosphere is quiet, and the establishment is spotlessly clean. The staff are very kind, helpful and professional. And where else can you choose from eleven breakfast dishes? We have great appreciation for the helpfulness of management with our motorbike and general assistance with anything we required.

Better late than never but had to give review on Alpha du Cap. We stayed there for the second time last year. We enjoyed our first stay so much. Johannes and Katerina are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and so comfortable, with the added bonus of leading into a lovely garden and pool area. The breakfast is freshly cooked to order and with plenty of choice. My only complaint is that we are not able to visit again this year....oh well, maybe next year.

Beautiful guest house, I spent three nights there earlier this month. It was so restful. Beautiful safe neighbourhood. We were able to walk to the ocean front where we were able to choose from a number of restaurants. The city is not far away by car, taxi or bus. The staff were wonderful from our initial welcome from John, each person was helpful and each request was met with a smile. The room was so comfortable and spacious. The breakfast menu provided a wonderful choice and I enjoyed something different each morning. I hope to return to Cape Town and would love to stay here again.

30 minutes waiting for very simple breakfast. Took 10 minutes to notice us and an other 20 to make the simplies egg meals. This kills the whole thing. Rooms and garden with pool and reception is nice. Buffet egg breakfast would save this place...... joke! Have to get up 30 mons earlier for breakfast?!?!

Hello Mark, thank you for your feedback, there's always room for improvement. Our average speed-of-service target for breakfast service is 9 minutes. In cases like yours where you were part of a group, orders can take slightly longer as it is our policy to serve all guest in a group at the same time. All our menu items are cooked to order and freshly prepared. While orders are being prepared, guests can help themselves from the buffet. Guests also have the option to pre-order breakfast or choose one of our take-away options should they need to leave early or be rushed for time. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the facilities at Alpha du Cap Guest House and otherwise enjoyed your stay!

My husband and I spent 5 days at the Alpha du Cap and must admit that I find it hard to review this guest house as there are a couple of negatives but also positves. The house itself is set in the middle of a housing estate therefore there are no views of the sea, Table mountain etc. our room looked out onto the car parking area - which is not secured. Cape Town is just over 20kms drive away which became a bit of a drag each day especialy if you hit peak traffic as it is a busy road. I must admit that I was disappointed when I first arrived because of its situation - plus we got lost.

But on the positive side the room was very comfortable and clean. Everything was provided, TV, PC and internet which was free, mini bar etc. There was plenty of room for our luggage, hanging space and storage cupboards. The lighting was good and the ensuite bathroom very spacious with everything to hand including lovely fluffy dressing gowns and plenty of towels.

Katarina and Johannes were lovely and so helpful. It was also a pleasure to see Pamela's smile at breakfast every morning. Although it was too cold for a dip in the pool Katarina set the jaccuzi to a lovely warm temperature for us. She also provided utensils and condiments for us in the lapa to enable us to have a braai (BBQ) on two evenings.

The breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice - I tried a different cooked breakfast each morning but my husband stuck to the "Sunrise" breakfast each day.

If you do not mind the drive into Cape Town, winelands etc. and not bothered about a view then I would certainly recommend this guest house.

We stayed at Alpha du Cap for five nights, and loved every minute! From our warm and friendly welcome, to the delicious and well presented breakfasts, to the comfortably appointed room with en-suite bathroom, everything was just perfect. Our host was very kind and helpful when we needed to print some tickets for local tourist attractions, and advised us on some of the options available for local restaurants etc. The location is very convenient with easy access to the beautiful Blouberg sea front, the Bayside Mall, Big Bay and many shopping centres, restaurants, pubs and more! The most spectacualr view of Table Mountain is just a short and safe walk from Alpha Du Cap, and there is easy to access to the moterway, and a short drive to CapeTown. We really appreciated having a pc and free internet access in our room, which proved invaluable for uploading photos and researching tourist attractions. So there's no need to lug your laptop along! We would not hesitate to recommend Alpha Du Cap to anyone seeking a quiet and comfortable home away from home in the Cape Town area

From contacting to leaving everything was no trouble to the staff. Pool and jacuzzi great.Barbi also great, you only supplied the food and drink all the rest was supplied and taken away when you were finished. The one highlight for my wife was they have a service to clean your clothes second to none. All the clothes were pressed and ironed. Short stroll to the beach, restaurants, shops. Very good large supermarket nearby. The bar is an honesty bar if you drink late or early. Friendly and helpfull staff made this a wonderfull place to stay.

We spent 7 nights at Alpha du Cap in April and had a really wonderful stay. Alpha du Cap is the perfect place to be with great hosts and staff. You feel welcome from the first minute on and if you need advice or recommendations where to go and what to do, there is always someone to ask. We stayed in a great and very clean room with direct access to pool and jacuzzi - what else can you ask for after a day rich of events! Breakfast was also very good and in the garden you have BBQ facilities and a pizza oven (which we used as well). The Guesthouse is very close to the beach which is the perfect spot for kitesurfer. Do kitesurfing with the best view on Table mountain and see great sunsets afterwards!!! Just awesome... It´s only a 20 minutes drive to the city centre but there are also some shops and very good restaurants nearby. To make it short - it couldn´t have been better and when we come back to Cape Town we know for sure where to stay at!

On the advice of a South African friend we based ouselves at Bloubergstrand to visit Cape Town and the surrounds. The advice was good. We selected Alpha du Cap over the internet and the guest house and its location was ideal for 6 days sightseeing to Cape Town, Cape Point, The Wine District, Western Cape, Table Mountain etc .
The owner Johannes and his staff could not have been more helpful. Every day we would get directions to where we planned to go and in some cases advised as to places we should see and others where we should not bother. We have never had anyone being so attentive.
Bedrooms were spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed.
Breakfast was good and within a couple of blocks plenty restruants on the sea front with views of Table Mountain. We highly recommend this Guest House and the people who run it.

I booked this guesthouse for a group of friends. It was our first trip to Cape Town and they have been extremely helpful. They arranged our airport transfer, recommended places we should see and booked our Table Mountain tickets for us so we didn't have to queue anymore for tickets once we got to Table Mountain. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy with heaters and blankets. There are different options for breakfast which was great because not everyone in our group eats meat. They were just finishing some painting by the parking but that didn't bother us at all. I rated this place 5 stars for their friendly staff and service, but everything else was perfect too and we definitively had a great time.
