Great place with stunning views. Staff are friendly and very helpful even after hours. Owner is on the property daily! Ablution blocks are very modern and are even cleaned on a Sunday afternoon. Will definitely visit them again.

The staff are amazing, the campsite is well equiped, there is power close by as well as a kitchen for the campers. The bathrooms are top notch, though I had a few cold showers( Don't worry its very refreshing with the humidity) I only asked about the geezer just before the end of my trip. there is a pool on the deck that has beautiful views, a bathroom, tables, deck chairs and shade, very nice for the days you want to stay at camp.

We were rained on really hectically out last night and would definately suggest staying in one of their gorgeous tents in the rainy season .

Thank you again and we'll be back

From when we got there the staff as a whole was amazing and friendly and eager to assist. The kitchens were stocked with a fridge for our goodies that needed chilling, a gas stove, gas geyser, a toaster and a kettle. The bathrooms were also amazing several toilets, bath and showers run by gas geysers, so load shedding didn't effect us here at all. The ground were always spotless and the pools were kept clean. They also sell wood, Charcoal and ice so we didnt need to go into town even though Sabie River camp is so nicely situated and not to far to venture out on daily trips. We went as a family get away and it was calm beautiful and relaxing. We already thinking of our next trip as there was to much to see and we loved our stay at Sabie River Camp.

It is a relatively small camp site, we were in a camping trailer/caravan. The best camping spots on the river are all taken by the camps tented chalets. The pools are very small, often didn't swim as there were just too many people in and at the pools, keeping in mind the camp site its self while we were there was maybe at 20% of it capacity. The main ablutions near reception were always clean and maintained, although it was difficult to balance the hot and cold water in the shower. The ablutions close to where we were based were not clean lots of insects, a wasps nest in the ladies bathroom.
At the most the camp site served as a good base for our site seeing during the day. As a camping experience it was not great, too close to town, not much of a view as many building can be seen, did not feel like we were on a real camping trip in the bush, unfortunately. They also only sell, ice and wood no shop on the premises, have to go to town for any food items, which is not far.

Falsely advertised - The location is right in Town and just behind their premise is a very large informal settlement. We did not manage to sleep the entire night due to scramblers and motorbikes going up and down the road near the camp all night and all morning, beeping trucks continuously from a construction site nearby in Town. There is river but it is literally 2 meters wide. There is nothing to do locally nearby. This not the Wilderness. They say they have electrical points but what they purposely fail to disclose is that you need to have Caravan convertor adaptors which they are selling which I found Suspicious (R210 later) My Girlfriend and I felt very very unsafe camping on the perimeter. We left the site first thing the next morning after a Cold shower and also refused to refund us 2 nights out of the 3. We camp a lot and been places and this is by far the worst we have experienced - Not recommended.

We loved the camp site, Awesome camp site with good clean facilities and a pool. The staff were helpful and every thing worked. The kitchen area was kitted out with what you need, including power and lighting.

Influenced by exceptional high tariff rates from Merry Pebbles, we looked for alternative camping site & came across Sabie River Camp. With some concerns, we booked and paid their very attractive rates. When we arrived, we had a great & sincere welcoming. Staff assisted us to set up camp. The owner Mr Raymond v/d Mwerwe came peronally to introduce himself and supervise staff. Raymond has subsequently become a personal friend. Really!!!
Our stay was out of the TOP DRAWER. Safe, clean, friendly, central, economical, personal and an absolute pleasure. Strongly recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very affordable, clean and safe camping facility. Conveniently located with lots to do in the area. The kids kept themselves busy by tubing down the river, swimming in the small but well maintained pools and they also enjoyed the playground. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Could not find fault if one considers getting what you pay for. I would say we enjoyed good value. You might just want to take your own fan if visiting in a warmer time of year.. Tents can get quite hot inside.

Beautiful place and will definitely be coming again!! Tented camp was comfortable, although quite hot in Summer. Fortunately we carried a fan. The property and bathrooms are well maintained and clean. The communal kitchens even have fridges, stoves, kettles, toaster. It is well situated for those wanting to sight see and even visit Kruger. I would definitely recommend Sabie River Camp

Stayed in the 6 sleeper and very pleasantly surprised that tents were well equipped and very clean. Heater blankets were awesome as nights were cold but we never needed additional blankets. Staff were pleasant and helpful, in particular the night shift caretaker who made sure we had everything we needed each night and were comfortable. Kids enjoyed the stay. Pools and putt putt area do need to be maintained a bit. Sabie River area itself is not as great as it used to be but we definitely enjoyed the stay at the Sabie River Camp site and would book out there again.
