The Lou Moon Lodge is a fantasic place for a relaxing family vacation. The food was good and the service was good too. The view from the room (Bay view room #8) was fantastic. The beach was clean and there is a person assigned to clean the water ( yes the water) frequently as and when needed. The price is steep but TIA. Travel time is about 6 hrs from Accra (including a few stops) and the road is good, The only thing is the varity of snacks available is limited.

We stayed in Room 1 on the island. I can say with certainty that It was the best view from a hotel room that I have ever seen. We slept with all doors open and the ocean sounds every night and woke up to see paradise. The food was incredible. The design of the rooms was so well thought through and clever, from the bath overlooking the ocean with doors wide open, to the private pool location within 4 meters of the left had side of the bed. Panoramic views from each side. No mosquitoes, just the ocean and you. If you want pure romance. This is the place.

We drove down in a 4x4 from Accra in one day, stopping at Elimena en route. We had a rubbish map but made it in 6 hours (pleasant journey and fascinating through the villages). The track to the hotel is definitely a 4x4 challenge and great fun once you have done it twice! We visited lots of places from the hotel and it feels like we have had complete luxury and lots of little adventures. The staff were hilarious, kind and thoughtful. Perfect holiday and I feel very sad to leave after 5 days.

This would be a perfect place to hire out for a wedding or party... we are coming back!

Lou Moon is located into one of Ghana's most beautiful corners. The hotel is right by a small bay and a ocean, giving you beautiful view of sea, beach, and palm trees. It really feels like being into a tiny tropical paradise.

Rooms are large, and clean, with their private balcony. The food is good, and the cocktails are definitely worth ordering. Staff was very helpful and attentive.

The hotel is also really nice for families with children. There are large grassy areas for them to run and play, and the hotel supplies balls and other games. There is also kid menu at the restaurant, which is always appreciated.

I had originally planned to go in November, and I had to cancel my stay because of an illness. The hotel allowed me to keep 80% of my reservation booking for a future stay, which I found very nice, considering I cancelled on the day of travel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lou moon, so much that I paid in advance for my next trip. The views, sleeping to the sound of beach waves, the service, the food; my best friend and I enjoyed it all. The rooms were well cleaned, meals nicely served, pretty much, every thing we asked for we got. If you ever need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Lou moon is perfect. It was a 6 hour drive from Accra but I later found out we could have flown into Takrodi which is an hour or so away from the resort. Make sure you get the massage by the beach, Gloria is amazing.

Excellent sanctuary in Ghana. Peaceful, quiet place with lovely staff. The approach to the hotel is a bit daunting but that’s what makes it fun. The sound of water in the night is what will keep bringing people back to it.

We stayed 5 nights with our 2 little girls and we all had a fantastic time. Beautiful beach, very easy to swim as the bay protects the sea from the waves and current, very good food and very good service. We will definitely come back, thanks again for everything.

This place was our favourite during our week Ghana holiday and we spent two very relaxing days here.

Small boutique beach resort situated about 90 minutes drive west of takoradi (150 cedis by taxi).

Located on its own sheltered private bay, which means you can actually swim in the sea without being towed out by the current.

Small number of rooms / bungalows furnished in local beach-chic style. Room 8 was great, large sized, overlooking the bay.

Efficient and friendly staff. Good mix of local and European food, although at times trying to be a bit too gourmet.

Prices seem high but don’t forget a delicious three course meal is included.

As with all Ghana beaches, plastic litter does float in but staff do a good job of removing it from the beach every day.

The Lodge is now more than 10 years old and has been wonderfully maintained. Accommodation is great. Beach is quite unique, with many opportunities. The restaurant is very good and the wine list interesting and reasonably priced. Access requires a private terrain compatible vehicle, because the round is unpaved and quite bad. Sitting at the beach really gives the feeling of paradise, with the cool breeze from the ocean.

Enjoyed a fabulous weekend- even though it rained. We had no issues in a regular car getting in our out. Not many small beach places you can really enjoy during the rain, but Lou Moon is one of them. Had a beautifully designed bungalow on the island with stunning views and comfort not often found in Ghana. The small shltered cove creates a calm beach unlike the raging ocean in many other places-one of the few coves like this in West Africa.

I enjoyed a nice conversation with the owner, and all of the staff were pleasant and professional-you dont find that in many places in Ghana. A great range of unique cocktails from a first class bartender and the belgian beers were also a treat. The food was a great mix of choices. Enjoyed fresh Lobster one nght and had liver another, I have never seen that on a menu in Ghana before and it was excellent.

Highly recommend the place, as it is a quick and delightful way to recharge from day to day life in Ghana.

We traveled from Tema to Lou Moon Lodge for a business retreat for strategic planning and relationship building.
Our time there was wonderful. We were able to have private discussions, relax in the incredible quiet atmosphere and enjoy the gourmet offerings of the restaurant.
The staff was extremely professional and the amenities comprehensive. From the serene "infinity pool" to the quiet beach cove, all was lovely.
We will definitely return at our earliest possible opportunity!
