Detailed Reviews
The hotel was great, room was big, terrace a delight. A quiet hotel which was strange as it was beginning July. Breakfast was wonderful, lunch in the outdoor restaurant was a no go for us, the staff tried to ignore you upon arrival, afraid of questions. We took one time room service lunch and they changed the order to a complete different and more expensive dish, without notification.
Dinner was a buffet, but did not appeal to us so we moved outside the hotel

Trying to be as objective as possible, I indicate that in general terms the hotel is very good. As aspects to highlight the All-inclusive, which could say that it is much more complete than in other hotels and
the SPANISH animation that is great. Santos and Katia, with their friendliness and constant smile, make the stay very pleasant. They put on really well-worked and professional shows, along with the rest of the team.
At the Miniclub, Aroa, Natalia, Andrés...Fantastic! With André, you laugh a lot. She is super nice/they are super nice (mom Álvaro, 5 years old).
Still for them, I would ask for an update to the mini club. It is somewhat old, just like the few toys they have, crayons, colors, etc...
How aspects to improve:
Entertainment: Previously, and intentionally, I put "Spanish" animation in capital letters since there is another French animation group, which has perhaps excessive presence at the hotel. Some nighttime shows are performed directly by them in French, without any translation and the Spanish audience, on some occasions, could feel "displaced." Regardless of the fact that it may have a lot of French clients, I think it does a "disservice to the Spanish", which I understand requires entertainment that we can understand, even more so being in Spain.
In restaurants: I think that in general terms it is good although the dishes related to vegetables are repeated daily. On the other hand, I don't see it being aimed at children at all. They don't even have the typical conventional yogurts, and to save the issue of dairy intake, I think many parents would appreciate it.
The vegetables are also not very pleasant due to the lack of preparation; small children do not find them at all attractive or appetizing.
On the other hand, cleanliness. I suppose it must have been something specific about the person in charge of our wing, but he simply limits himself to making the beds and mopping. The bathroom is cleaned every 2-3 days and every day we have had problems with towels, garbage, etc.
..The terrace has not been cleaned all week etc...
In general terms it is a very good hotel, but I think that by "polishing" certain details it could be much better. I understand they are simple things with an easy solution. Even so, we will most likely repeat.
Thanks to the entire hotel team.

We spent 10 days in this hotel and it is far from being up to the standard of the other Marmaras we have been to.
The hotel is divided into 2 parts, only about 1/3 of which is a Marmara room (It is not 100% Marmara, far from it)
Welcome :
The rooms are available around 3 p.m., we arrived around 10 a.m....fortunately there is a luggage room to store your suitcases and you have immediate access to everything (swimming pool, bar, restaurant, etc.) But it's still a long time wait 5 hours after a trip.
Bedrooms :
Marmara does not have connecting rooms in this hotel so there were 4 of us in the same room which is OK...no more. The beds are not very comfortable but ok and the TV is small. There is a small fridge available that can keep a few things cool. The cleaning is poorly done, they just make the bed and if you ask them they mop the floor...so we often end up with sand on the floor.
Swimming pools:
They are nice and there is even a small indoor swimming pool. We never had a problem with deckchairs no matter what time we went there.
Catering:
There are a lot of people, so you have to queue and it's really really noisy, we even have trouble hearing a person at our table talking to us because there's so much noise, it's deafening and the quality of the food is ok.
Bar :
The cocktails included in the All-Inclusive are horrible, 10 times too sweet.
On the other hand, it is possible to have normal juices or beers that have a good taste, they even offer chips, olives, peanuts or real ice cream for children.
Activities :
There is NO mini golf, football, tennis etc. like in the other Marmaras... there are just 3 ping pong tables next to the air vents which give off a very bad smell and a terrace on which They put a synthetic turf (see photos) which they call "multi-sport field" because when they want to play football they put decathlon cages, when they want to play volleyball they put a decathlon net etc... a scam.
In summary :
It's a shame for a Marmara at this price, no connecting rooms, poor housekeeping, an extremely noisy restaurant, no playground, terrible cocktails. Fortunately it is very well located and there are lots of activities to do nearby.

+1
After a short transfer from Reus airport we were dropped off at the entrance and our first impression of the hotel was good we were then told to we needed to go outside and around the corner to a 2nd reception where we would check in a little bit annoying but when we entered the other entrance it was even better than the first! .We arrived about 11:00 am and were upgraded to 2 storey duplex rooms which we’re ready for us to go straight into , they were perfect for our needs. Always found hotel to be clean as were our rooms every day, on the occasions that I went to reception I always found the staff friendly and helpful and even though I don’t know much Spanish never found it a problem to communicate with any staff . Food is typical of what you would normally find and it was varied enough to suit most people really enjoyed the breakfast and never went hungry if you go down as soon as restaurant open you may have trouble finding a table but let the first rush go and then no problems. Pools were quite cold but once in it was enjoyable never had a problem finding sun beds. Activities and entertainment were available if you wanted to join in not really my thing but other guest seem to be enjoying It. Location is perfect just across the road from a beautiful beach the promenade with shops restaurants ect bus stop close by and about a 10 min walk to the Friday market, in general found the area outside hotel clean and pleasant to walk around , overall really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Stayed here in April quick 4 day getaway . Start with the positives . Lovely clean area . Fantastic beaches , Hotel. Really clean , excellent bedrooms. Nice bathroom couldn't have wished for more .lucky enough to get a sea view ,pool view, entertainment area view on my balcony, which was a bonus.
There was no sunbed dash in the morning . Every day after breakfast we went for a walk a long sea front come back got towels went to pool. Picked a sunbed up easily, no stupid 8am sunbed dash . Was able to store bags in luggage & use shower room on checkout day so we could continue to enjoy the hotel . Drinks with evening meal a nice touch & went down well . Bottomless Beer,Wine,Soft drinks . 😃
Negatives - Downside to that is the daytime activity programme. Whoever does the sound check on the microphones must be deaf because the volume levels are excruciating throughout the day especially when you pop to your room late afternoon to relax & get ready for dinner, etc . The reception staff can speak English but the bar & kitchen staff can only speak French or Spanish so practice your language skills before you go you will need them . To top it all off, I don't know if it was a French holiday week, but the hotel was definitely 95% full of arrogant French. Won't let you pass with a dinner plate or press a button on the coffee machine without invading your personal space ,never come across a race of people with such ignorant behaviour in a dining room . The canteen team at breakfast could be a bit smarter . The queue at the coffee machines was permanently at least 6 people deep. On every machine. Lots of hotels now pass out filter coffee pots on arrival at breakfast. This would save people dodging in & out of everyone trying not to have an accident. At the same time, because everyone is waiting forever for a coffee breakfast now lasts at least an hour were usually it's a 30 min breakfast, so the foot traffic would be less if they handed out coffee pots on arrival . People would be in & out the dining room in no time .
Dinner was another animal with a massive queue to get in if you go between 19.00-21.00 . We started to go around 9pm as it wasn't the best experience to wait in line for a table . Food like most hotels can be hit & miss but every thing was cooked well . Dissapointed I never got a pealla dish on the menu for the whole time I was there . Overall experience on this hotel was very good ,

Dear Dave, Thanks for your opinion. We are glad to hear that you had a pleasant stay at Hotel Palas Pineda. On the other hand, we deeply regret not having met all expectations regarding the organization of the restaurant. We understand that during periods of high demand, there may be a higher influx of customers at certain times. To address the situation, we have extended dining hours. From the hotel, knowing the opinion of our customers is of great help to continue working day by day with the aim of offering the best possible services. Many thanks and regards, Management of Hotel Palas Pineda.

Disastrous stay! Booked with Marmara in all inclusive. 3000 euros for 2 and for 6 days because arrival at 3.5am on Monday and departure at noon on Sunday.
Airport/hotel transfer: more than 3.5 hours in the night! Food: deplorable. It's always the same thing and with no choice, no fees (canned grated carrots, the same for beets,..., no yogurt,...very poor quality. We've never seen that!
Zen pool: there are weddings organized by the hotel and so we tell you that the pool is closed when it suits the hotel. Yet we chose this hotel for that. Bar: cocktails, drinks,… undrinkable! Bad quality, full of sugars,...
Rooms: no bottles of water (except the one when you arrive) after that it's 2 euros per bottle.
Pool towels: 10 euros per towel as a deposit.
Departure for a plane at 6:20 p.m. which is 12 p.m. from the hotel. So no lunch. While your day is paid as the day of arrival even if you arrive the next day because transfers are horribly long (3.5 hours).
We will never return to this hotel and Marmara was the first and last time too.

Excellent value for what you pay. Lots of the moans are unjustified, the food is excellent each day: fresh, cooked in front of you, fruit, juices, everything you could ask for. It's busy during peak but the only suggested improvements are to stop guests slamming doors early each day, serve yourself water and drinks during the day and a smile or two from reception staff. Overall a great place, pool, food and location. Will return.

This is my 7th visit to Palas Pineda since 2019. It always provides great value and simple but clean accommodation. Staff every time have been polite, rooms have always been clean and there is great wifi , many plug sockets, mini fridge and comfortable bedding. This hotel offers above average value for money.
Oh my latest visit I noticed a few disappointing changes. Firstly they no longer offer kettles to rent for €10 returnable deposit (not good enough for a four star hotel) - Irish and English guests expect this facility as a very basic requirement. Secondly, at breakfast buffet they used to provide paper cups for guests who wish to have a coffee and cigarette outside, this facility has been replaced by an angry Spanish woman running after guests taking cups outside - this is a silly and unnecessary way to annoy paying customers. Please allow your guests to enjoy basic facilities, if the only outdoor area in the restaurant is marked "no smoking", then don't have a tantrum when guests bring their cup of coffee outside to another area.
I will return but I will bring my kettle.

The location of the hotel is very pleasant. Whether to the beach, shopping or restaurant: everything within walking distance very easy to reach. Likewise bus stop to Tarragona or Salou. The hotel itself offers a somewhat ostentatious lobby with little entertainment value. Reception is okay if you don't speak German. Anyone who asks German will not get an answer. So : at least English, but better is French or of course Spanish. The main building has 4 lifts . 2 for the left wing, 2 for the right , which are quite slow. Built in 1999. Rooms are a bit small (no 22.00 sqm without bathroom) but sufficient. Clothes rack for 2 weeks scarce. Some items of clothing must remain in the suitcase and be taken only when necessary. Bathroom equipment made me smile - simple and functional. The result of some previous misconduct by "hotel guests". Dining room is divided 3x and designed for heavy crowds - just not the number of coffee makers and staff well at 6.87 € minimum wage....But hardworking and nice are all the employees.
The food presented in buffet form is average. Nothing special. But a lot. Coffees enough to choose from. Better to mix something. But you have to try that. All in all it was a pleasant 2 weeks at this place and in this house . Price / performance is okay. Only the 4 **** are a bit scratched compared to 4 ***** hotels about 25 years ago.

Nice hotel, very clean. Huge swimming pool, there is something for everyone, lots of deckchairs! Lots of people, but everyone has their place. Slides are very popular with children. Inflatable water games are great, but only twice for 2 hours a week....
Pleasant maids, even if they talk at 8 a.m., in front of the room, which never fails to wake us up... the beds in the rooms are dragged to the floor, for cleaning... which makes an infernal noise... The squeaky cleaning trolleys….. There is a huge soundproofing problem in the rooms, we can hear what is happening in the neighboring rooms… baby crying… shower, people talking… we can hear everything!! You shouldn't expect to have a good morning... nevertheless, the evening shows are quality. Do not go there too late, at the risk of not having a chair… The dining room is air-conditioned, we got sick…. Also a lot of noise… but the food is varied and quite good. The cocktails are good, but too sweet. At the spa the massages are very pleasant!! Overall the staff is friendly. The entertainers go out of their way to entertain us, but we shouldn't ask them to be social... on the Spanish side: no hello. As for the French animators: you have to go and say hello…. Mixed opinion, but we feel that they are going out of their way to satisfy us, and this is a point to emphasize..

Re rooms with showers, the ones on first floor with larger balconies are shower only, but contact reception prior to arriving and they will accommodate I am sure.
Yes, there are a few W/C’s throughout the property, including the pool area.
We have just come back and there was no kids entertainment during the day, but it was late September. There was a kids disco each night.
