Golden Donaire Beach Hotel is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and range of evening entertainment, providing guests with a welcoming experience. While opinions on value vary, with some concern over room and beach costs, the hotel's clean, daily-serviced rooms receive high marks, although their size and soundproofing occasionally disappoint.
The beachfront location is widely acclaimed, offering stunning views and convenience, but the hotel's amenities, such as pool space and sunbeds, may fall short for some. Service is generally regarded as friendly and professional, adding to the positive experience at Golden Donaire Beach.

Lovely hotel. The room was absolutely immaculate when we arrived. The cleaners would’ve cleaned every day if we’d let them!
The food was lovely. Not a massive selection, but the hotel wasn’t very full. Different every day, always fresh and hot. Salads all good. Desserts a bit limited, but normal, no criticism.
Breakfast was standard, fried eggs to order, the usual pastries, fruit, cereal and yoghurt. Cold meat, sometimes pate! The tea bags were very weak, but the coffee was fine. The orange juice was lovely. There was also pineapple juice, apple juice and tropical juice as well as a couple of smoothie options included.
The food we bought at the pool bar wasn’t cheap, but good quality.
Service was sketchy, the grumpy barmen were often to be found here! There was one chap who was always lovely though.
To enter the restaurant you had to wear a mask and sanitise your hands.
The pool is quite small, but plenty big enough for all the guests while we were there. Never a shortage of sun beds or umbrellas. The lifeguards were friendly and helpful, sanitising stuff all day long!
The beach is absolutely on the doorstep, but the hotel has no rights, so it’s €5 a day for a sun bed. We didn’t bother, just walked down for a swim in the sea and then back to the pool.
The reasons it’s not 5 stars?
Clean pool towels are €1
To upgrade from half board to all inclusive is €25 per person per day. It has to be the whole party (fair enough) for a minimum of 5 days. It seemed very expensive for a few drinks and lunch...
The staff could be a bit terse. I put it down to the stress of all their foreseeable future UK guests being cancelled....
We were blessed to get this holiday, to arrive just hours before Spain’s air bridge was closed/removed. We had a truly fantastic time, and we’ve come away with some fantastic memories.
The hygiene practices at the hotel and out and about are excellent. 99% of people were wearing masks. Hand sanitiser was everywhere. We wore our masks to get food from the buffet and all walking about. The only time they came off was sunbathing, swimming, eating or drinking. We’re way more likely to catch Covid 19 in our corner shop than Costa Dorada!

This is a lovely 4⭐️ hotel and bang on the beach and 10 minutes walking distance to local shops and 8 minutes to fabulous shopping centre in salou just less than €10 euros each way via taxi. Also the allinclusive food and drinks are great local beer is cruzcampo 5.6% tastes canny to, check in at reception is so straight forward and very friendly and helpful staff, there is a tourist tax to pay at reception on arrival €0.90 per day and depending on how long your stay is the safe for 4 nights is €30 up front and €10 back on check out and 7days is €45 per day. Almost every member of staff here have attention to detail and go the extra mile to make your stay sublime the young lady with blue hair at the down stair bar at the beach side bar 100% looks after you. The cleaners do a great job of the rooms every day, even the snobs fit in here and are canny 👌🏻 the weather last week in July is simply perfect😅. Also the rep knows his stuff here also 1hour 30 minutes to Barcelona worth the visit for sure. There is a great market on a Friday at the back car park of the water park 10 minutes walk away at the local shops. Only 25- 30 minutes from airport the transfer. There is a Chinese lady walks the beach doing massages they are fabulous only €20 full body so relaxing. We alway go to top hotel in Turkey and Florida every year but will be 100% coming back here now instead of Turkey

My wife, our son and I stayed here recently for a week on an All Inclusive basis. I have to say the hotel really was nice. It is clean, fairly modern and a great location (especially if you want to go to the beach).
All the staff we had interactions with were incredibly welcoming, cheerful and helpful.
We had a family room, which had 2 separate bedrooms, ideal for us. My only criticism was the bathroom had a shower over bath set-up which is a pet hate of mine!!
The hotel is literally located on the beach, it could not be any closer. The pool area seemed quite crowded and the sunbeds were all tightly packed together so we chose to go to the beach over the pool because of this.
My only real criticism from our stay would be the All Inclusive package. I don't feel it was great value and wouldn't be recommending it to others.
The breakfast in the main restaurant was lovely, but the hot food on offer for lunch and dinner was repetitive, not overly appetizing and fairly bland.
The cold food/ salads were great and a lovely selection of fresh breads available but the hot food really was a disappointment. We ate out for dinner on a few occasions and skipped lunch most days as a result.
I also found All Inclusive guests seemed to be treated differently than guests who were "pay as you go"! In the main bar, we were always served drinks in plastic glasses, food on paper plates and coffee in take away mugs while guests who were paying would get proper glasses, plates and cups. I'm not sure the reason for this but it was definitely happening and really no one wants to be sitting eating food from a plastic glass and paper plate on holidays!!
Some drinks were not included on AI but as per the menu could be purchased for a reduced fee if you were on an AI package, however on more than one occasion, if I asked for a drink that required a supplement I was told no, you cannot have its not included with AI. Of course I was willing to pay the supplement but I was never asked this, always just told NO.
All in all, a lovely hotel in a great location. Go on a B&B meal plan and eat elsewhere for dinner!

Dear Mrs. algb90, Thank you very much for coming to our Hotel to spend your holidays and for being so kind to share your experience with all of us!. We are happy to see that you had a nice time with us during your holidays and especially enjoyed our location, breakfast and the staff. They are so happy to hear of your mention. In reference to china or paper cups, we dont make any diference between paying customer and all inclusive (who have also paid). The diference is if you have the drink outside by the pool where glasses and porcelaine is forbidden or inside, where you can ask the waiter for paper or china as you prefer. We hope to welcome you back on next season and offer you a beautiful experience. Best regards,

We arrived on 11th September 11 days checked into reception, the people were lovely very helpful, helped us more all holiday with different queries than our own Tui rep who appeared to be hardly ever there, Paid a 10 euro deposit for beach towels which is brilliant idea as it saves you having to bring towels with you on holiday and you wanted clean ones an extra 1 euro. Safe in the room was 30 euros plus 10 euro deposit which get back at the end of the holiday.
Went to our room 637 nice room, comfy bed and nice size balcony not much space in wardrobe for clothes.
We don’t spend anytime at the pool anyway more beach users which we counted ourselves lucky as the pool is pretty small for the size of the hotel , even on a cloudy day we looked at it and there was no space for the two of us , the beach is lovely but I must admit we are used to going to Turkey where sun beds are amazing price so when he said 30 euros for 2 sun beds and umbrella we nearly fainted, there are more little bit further down the beach and they are 25 euros which included 2 drinks beer or water. We were half board which was breakfast and dinner, if you don’t want dinner and wanted lunch instead you could swap it which was a good idea if you wanted to eat out sometimes . Now comes the reason why I put 3 out of 5 the food ! I always said I wasn’t fussy at all with my food I like everything ! But I’ve got to say I’ve been very lucky and have been to many places but never had such bad food most of it was lukewarm, always make sure you get it when they put fresh out and most of it was very bland, there fish is lovely and cooked fresh and there is a nice variety but did repeat on the second week , my husband lived on pizza and burgers , place where you eat is nice and you can eat outside looking onto the beach . All the staff in the hotel are lovely very friendly and helpful, and everywhere was lovely and clean
The situation of the hotel is lovely right on the beach and bus stop and taxi ranks just down the road, buses run frequently and you can get a bus card with 10 journeys for 11.50 euros which both of you can use at the same time , a single is 2.75 euros normally each which saves a bit you can get from a place called bus plana which is by the rank of shops opposite the beach, we had some lovely trips to salou and tarragona .

The best experience in Spain !
We have stayed for 11 nights ( 2 adults + 11 years old child) in the hotel .
Strong advantages:
1) locations: you can’t find better location on La Pineda . Straight on the stripe of golden beach.
30 min on local bus to Port Aventura and 1,5 hour to Barcelona from bus stop located outside the hotel.
Huge selection of restaurants and shops around .
2) Food : very good , lots of good meat and fresh fruits. Water is included ( we have been full board) , it is filtered and in glass bottles , hence huge thumb up from ecological point .
Recommendation : add some variety and fresh vegetables for breakfast, it was missed.
3) kids club - huge thanks to Masha and Camilla from Goldie Club , that’s are stars!
All animation team was really great ,
4) staff in restaurant: attentive and polite.
One , but important downside ( Management, please action asap): speed of internet either in rooms or public places is extremely slow . Forget that you will Be able to watch something, work from hotel , respond emails or download audiobook ( It took me over 30 min to download 25 mb of audiobook in hotel room. I gave up after 30 min, went with my family to Port Aventura and downloaded remaining 1050 Mb of audiobook in Port Aventura with their WiFi within 4 minutes - 42 times faster!)
And they have high speed broadband in La Pineda ( lots of local advertising), hence I have no understanding why the internet is such a problem in hotel.
Hope management will act accordingly and it will be sorted by my return in September.
It is definitely the place where I wish to return !
Thanks everyone for my great family holiday!

We have just got back from a weeks stay at golden donaire for my birthday and it was surprisingly lovely! I have been to salou 4 times and have always stayed at molinos Park where its cheap and cheerful but I decided to pick an upgrade as it was mine and my partners first time in salou together.
The hotel was spotless from the get go if you excuse all the building work around it. The staff on the front desk where very polite and very informative as too how their all inclusive worked which is good as I know not all hotels are the same.
The room was huge for the two of us and it was pristine! The view wasn't fabulous but it was nothing that would hinder the holiday. The pillows where quite flat for us but we took the spare pillows from the other beds and it made it perfect. The water pressure in the shower was amazing and the soaps they provide where really nice. There's also a hair dryer in the bathroom which is a decent level of power coming from someone who's hair takes forever to dry! We heard no noise from our room but if you're dark room sleeper like us I'd suggest unplugging the TV as the light is very bright and putting the 2 small bed pillows under the door crack as the hall lights shine under. We only had 2 English channels but due to the passing of her majesty there was nothing on anyway but the room has free WiFi so we just watched Netflix on the laptop. Rooms where cleaned everyday back to the standard you arrived it honestly was lovely.
The food hall was VERY busy so I would suggest trying to gauge when the best time to go is and also sit outside if the weather allows because its far quieter. My fiancé's a very fussy eater so the food wasn't really to his taste and to be completely honest I wasn't totally overwhelmed by it, the choices where very sparse even compared to a 3* where we had much more choice.
The pool is in serious need of a clean! I had to wash 2 bikinis in the shower due to the scum from the side of the pool turning them white! The sun loungers where comfy too the point where you really wouldn't need a towel to lie on them and we didn't find it hard to get umbrellas. We went at a nice time where there wasn't many children about so we managed to get some work done by the pool through the day while it was quiet.
Places are really easy to get too from the hotel, it's a very short walk to the bus stop that you can get buses literally anywhere and it's right next too a taxi rank which is ideal if you don't have the time to wait for a bus but they are very pricey in our eyes.
The evening entertainment we didn't really see much of because nine times out of ten we couldnt get seats but what we did see was disappointing to say the least.
Checking out was until 12 which I find really good compared to 10 at other hotels and if you have a late flight like we did you still get dinner and tea on that day after checking out which honestly was the icing on the cake for us as we spent all day at Portaventura and still made it back for some tea before our flight, these little bits are what has convinced my fiance we will be staying at this hotel when we come back next year!
All in all an outstanding all inclusive for us.

Our first impression of this hotel was good, it is positioned in a lovely place, right on a clean lush beach, and within walking distance from local shops and bars, with a bus stop right outside to take you to Salou or tarragona.
The food quality is very good, with, plenty of choice for everyone, you will never go hungry here.
The entertainment is the usual standard for Spain, some ok and some quite bad, but to be expected. The daytime entertainers work very hard to keep the guests occupied, but don’t hassle you if you just want to watch.
The room was adequate, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom had everything you needed. Housekeeping was done everyday.
There was the usual rush for reserving sunbeds, despite notices around saying not to reserve, but nothing was done, we noticed beds being reserved and then not being used until late afternoon, which is selfish, the hotel needs to address and act on this problem. The sun Ed’s on the beach are very expensive, €20 for a sun bed without mattress and €30 for a sun bed with mattress, which we found to be extortionate, not sure whether it’s the hotel or the beach bar that’s responsible for pricing them.
Regarding our room (321) despite reporting it we couldn’t use our air condition unit as it gave of a vile smell of sewerage, it was something that we rely on when abroad, so that made our stay quite uncomfortable due to the heat and humidity while we were there.
The hotel does need improving and updating in places but overall, we enjoyed our stay with GOLDEN DONAIRE BEACH

Went with my daughter for a cheeky 4 night break after her GCSEs and we had a great time! The location of the hotel doesn't disappoint and the beach is beautiful. Soft sand with very clear water. It was like a warm bath!
The sunbeds round the pool were always full and it was really hot. We needed some shade so for €30 we used the Bali Beds on the beach.
I emailed in advance and asked for a quiet room location and that's just what we got, on the 6th floor with a huge wrap around balcony. Double bed but that didn't bother us. One request for us girls... please put a mirror in the bedroom, near the desk. Doing our hair / makeup was a challenge at night without this.
We booked half board and this worked for us. We like to eat out - enjoyed the snack bar on the beach a lot! And pizza there was just €6. Food in the buffet was good, salad bar very good. Not huge choice of hot food compared to other places we've stayed but we never went hungry. Drinks were reasonably priced and by paying for them we got the good stuff, like a properly mixed pina colada rather than the slush version.
Water is free from the dispensers which we appreciated (and needed as it was very hot).
Entertainment at night was good. Michael Jackson a highlight. We would definitely return and I thought the hotel had a real friendly, welcoming vive with lots of customers clearly repeat guests. Just lost a mark from us due to the sunbed situation. There just aren't enough. For 4 nights I was happy to pay on the beach but if we'd come for longer as a family of 4 it would have been costly.
Thanks for some wonderful mum and daughter memories Golden Donaire.

The rooms were cleaned everyday and the cleaners even folded clothes if you left them lying on the floor or your bed. The food from the bar is pretty basic as it should be, but the food from the restaurant is the most amazing food I must have ever had. The restaurant has a buffet that you can keep going up and getting food from. The staff are so nice and happy and make sure you are having a good time.
If you are staying with TUI there is always a TUI representative in the hotel that will help you with any problems you are having.
There is a go and fun club every night for the kids and later in the evening for the adults, they get magicians and acrobats to do shows and do little party's for the kids.
Outside of the hotel has alot of shops to go and eat and buy lots of Spanish stuff. BUT there is also alot of people trying to get money by walking around the streets harrasing you to buy sunglasses, weed, hair braids, etc. (A person offered me fake ray bans for €70 and then when I said no he wouldn't let me walk away and then offered me weed and kept making deals).
My advice if you do decide to go and walk around the town is to just ignore the people begging and only go into the shops to buy stuff.
Apart from this I belive this hotel deserves more than 4 stars, the staff are just so amazing and happy and when you go there... it will be the most different hotel and lifestyle experience you have ever seen.

Wow this hotel is amazing. We got home yesterday and are missing it already. Photographs do not do it justice it's a well kept hotel pristine everywhere rooms lovely we had a sea view Room 748 perfect sun rises were amazing. Our maid Alexandra kept our room immaculate every one of our 14 days. We were most warmly welcomed on our arrival at Reception by the staff and Jose - smiles all round. The location right on the beach is lovely you can have breakfast in the main restaurant or adjoining seating in the open air. Top marks must go to the restaurant staff under the great leadership of Vlad and Yolanda whose staff of Isabelle, Jero, Rafael, Jaon, Rachid and Ana Amores and others including the great chefs were all so lovely to us every single day loads of smiles and they were busy but always cheerful made our holiday plus so did the food buffet style and very very good. We are most definitley planning to go back to chill and relax top marks to everyone from cleaners to bar staff to entertainment organisers to restaurant staff it was the perfect holiday for us thank you so much to you all at Golden Donaire Beach !

Yes we found the wifi to be great in the rooms and could stream films etc

About 5 -10 minutes if you walk slowly it takes about an hour to walk there and back to hotel walking on shop side going and beach side going back it's not a very big resort and that includes going in shops
