Estival Park Marena - TUI Suneo Estival is a hotel celebrated for its prime location close to the beach and local amenities, with convenient bus links that many travelers value. While the renovated rooms and child-friendly pool are highlights, several guests have voiced concerns over the limited drink selection and strict sunbed rules. The modern atmosphere is generally well-received, though opinions on the entertainment and music volume vary. Service is mostly commended for its diligent staff, but some instances of rudeness have been reported. Room cleanliness is recognized, but noise and housekeeping inconsistencies detract from the experience. Guests often criticize extra costs and food quality, questioning the hotel's overall value.

There were 4 adults in our group in 2 rooms. The rooms are newly renovated and are spacious (2 3' beds together as a double) a fridge and balcony . The Bathrooms are all new and very nice, the shower has a rain head and a hand held head which is very powerful.
The snack bar is the best I have used and the self service drinks are good. The cups are also a decent size so you don't keep going back. The waiters around the pool and bar area are brilliant and clear the empty cups etc so no wasps, rubbish or ants were seen.
The restaurant is typical AI with lots of choice on salads, hot and cold food, desserts and fruit. Waitresses keep the tables cleared and laid.
Entertainment was the only let down, a lot of dancing events during the day and the evening entertainment was either Karaoke, quiz or a brought in entertainer which our week were all bands. On Sunday there is no entertainment all day as the team all have the day off (never had this before). The entertainment team are new and apparently do not have all there equipment yet. Ping pong table is yet to arrive.
Would recommend and if Tui can improve the animation would return

We took a risk booking this hotel, we watched a few YouTube videos as there wasn't much reviews to go off and thought for the price we will try it and if we disliked the food we could eat out for the money saved. I'm a very fussy eater and we only ate out once just to get out. We enjoyed all the food plenty of choice, though sometimes if eating at quieter times some food may not be as hot as we would of liked majority of time it was fine. The snack bar was great I found that was always fresh and hot sometimes waiting for food to be put out the Margherita pizza here was the best from all inclusive I've ever had. The pool was better than we expected on photos it appeared small, it was overcrowded at times but it didn't bother us too much the splash park and slides also, baby pool needed to be heated as was obviously shaded therefore cold. The sunbed situation worked great in some aspects but not in others they just blow their whistle at your best around half 10 and 2 and if you're not around to claim it they will remove your towels, great for getting sunbeds in morning and afternoon but they do this regardless of if you have gone for 5 mins or 3 hours yet the leaflet states you have been gone 30mins or longer, the other times of the day they do not bother. Hotel and rooms decor nicely refreshed didn't see any unfinished parts room was fine bed not the comfiest but we have memory foam at home. We did have an issue with ants but both times reported they came quickly and sprayed and cleaned. Toilet situation strangely none on reception, the ones by the cafeteria was booked for a couple of days also, meaning you had to use the disgusting unisex pool toilets (stinks of wee and can be wet floors/ was once even poo) or go Upto your room, wasn't ideal with a baby either. There is a children's club in the morning from age 3, in the afternoon this room is open to the younger children with parent supervision which was nice to let our 1 year old explore with time out of the sun. Location of the hotel is great a short walk and you are at the beachfront where there is a shop and restaurants/bars. We took a trip out to salou and port Aventura wouldn't bother again. Lastly entertainment not the greatest but we have been spoiled in the past, just your standard kids disco and then sometimes an act or band on if not games night etc. Would I return ... Probably not as we like to move around but we enjoyed our holiday.

Hotel was beautiful and clean

Food in the restaurant was ok lots of selection almost the same every night with the exception of different flavours of chicken each night.

Restaurant staff seem irritated by English speaking people and miserable, speaking in Spanish obviously making remarks about dinner guests.

One staff member in the restaurant that I had the misfortune of dealing with I think was possibly an assistant manager or supervisor she wore a white polo T-shirt where the others wore blue she has short pixie cropped hair and leave with a motorcycle helmet.

If you can avoid her your time on holiday would be better she is horrible rude and will humiliate you in front of other guests and belittle you. I made a complaint to the TUI rep and was told she’s strict and not good at customers service definitely not a role she should be in.

Rooms where lovely clean and modern smart tv is a pain to connect and all channels are Spanish.
Bathroom had a leaking shower but only when using the smaller of the two shower heads but easy to deal with.
Beds are awful the hardest mattress I’ve experienced I have lower back pain and these bed were problematic.

Maid service great and fresh towels everyday apart from Sunday.

Bar staff could be more friendly again mostly just spoke Spanish with a few speaking a little English.
The bar staff kept the pool area and drinking areas lovely and clean.

The all inclusive area was the best part this is where most of the food we ate was for the seven days. Plenty of choice from burgers, chips, pizza, wraps, toasties, sandwiches and salads.

The all inclusive drinks were good high end pop but the cocktails were from a drinks machine and for cocktails there only seemed to be one option.

Anyone with a nut allergy would need to be careful as there’s a bucket of nuts open to dish from out for the day along with crisps and cakes.

Pool area is great the life guards do a wonderful job of policing the sun-beds and keeping everyone safe.

The location of the hotel is great and the bus service and stops aren’t far away and your in the middle of lots of did areas so no long rides.

The Reception team are really friendly and Melanie who I spoke with during the holiday was a brilliant caring member of staff that really made us feel better after the rude woman from the restaurant.

Entertainment at the hotel seemed to be a hit some nights and others not the best. The best show with out a doubt was three rockstars impossibl3 they was outstanding and so talented. The rest of the shows weren’t anyway as good.

All in all I probably wouldn’t stay here again especially with the beds being so uncomfortable. But I would recommend to others as it was a great hoilday destination

We spent a week here shortly after the hotel opened and it was such a disappointment.

The rooms are lovely and the entertainment staff are great with the kids and always happy to see them.

The downfall is the life guards. They enforce the 30 min towel rule no matter what. I witnessed them taking a mother and child out of the pool who had been in longer than 30 mins to return to their bed. Those taking part in activities with the animation team, they had their towels removed and don’t even think you can go for a quick lunch without having your towel removed.

I witnessed a guest talking to a member of the animation team about it. The lifeguard beckoned her, and once she was looking she was shaking the leaflet in her face while sticking two fingers up at her. It made the whole place so incredibly hostile and ruined our holiday.

The all inclusive part is a joke. All cocktails have a surplus of €1-€2 and they’re still from a pre mixed bottle. If you want a pint of larger, you’d need to pay €2 if not you just get small cups.

The food is not mixed enough and on an evening there is nothing for children. I’d expect a children’s section or something. On top of this, you can only get soft drinks, beer or sangria with your meal. No option of wine unless you want to pay.

I would certainly not return and I would say the hotel has a long way to go before it’s up to SUNEO standards.

Arrived at the hotel mid-morning for our family holiday, immediately welcomed by a friendly Tui Rep. Check-in was very efficient and as our room wasn't quite ready, we were advised we could leave our cases in the luggage room. We were given our Ai bands so we could now explore !! It was obvious a lot of thought has gone into the refurb/theme of the hotel.
Our room (3160) was ready after an hour, we found our room to be perfect for our stay. As in most hotels there are never enough hangers, although here there are plenty of shelves to store your clothes. Longer dresses just needed one fold over the hanger as the hanging space is short. The mattresses were all of different hardness which suited our preferences. There was no signs of water stains in the bathroom as noted in a recent review so this has been sorted quickly along with the banging entry/exit rear gate as we didn't hear it when we used it.
The food in the snack bar was freshly prepared and ideal, burgers, wraps and pizza (which were very good by the way) and catered for all dietary requirements. There were always crisps, peanuts and pastries on offer and clean utensils were available so you didn't need to handle the food. The restaurant was busy and food was plentiful. Self-serve drinks were good, you could have 2 glasses if you fancied a pint :)
All of the staff running the inside and outside bars were always busy cleaning or collecting the plastic glasses around the fun pool. They were always helpful, smiling and gave their time to have a friendly chat. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The lifeguards were positioned on either side of the pool, one close to the shaded area, and the other close to the bar/stage area when they weren't clearing excess water from the walkways so people wouldn't slip.
The Animation Team were relentless and had so much energy, they involved all ages in their fun activities (splash bingo, fun aqua aerobics, archery, darts etc). They didn't stop from morning til night.
The evening entertainment was varied, catering for all ages but maybe not to everyone's taste as everyone is different. We particularly enjoyed the Queen tribute band.
All around the hotel is spotless down to the beach which is a 3 minute walk away and is beautiful.
There are only a few negatives, in the ground level toilets the bins were overflowing during the day and evening time. The paper hand towel, toilet paper and soap dispensers were not replenished regularly enough to keep up with demand. It was great to see 4 pool tables next to the comfy seating area although they were very tired, balls kept getting stuck which needed one of the bar staff to attend with the key. They could do with being replaced. Recommend a couple of ping pong tables as well.

To sum up, we all had a great time. This is a hotel we will return to and recommend to others as we were made very welcome by such a hard working dedicated team.

Visited this hotel before the refurbishment in 2022, and was dubious about the hotel now being stand alone with no access to the other 2 on site. We need not have worried, we had a brilliant time, better than 2022.

The rooms are spacious and well kitted out, we faced the road side and had no issues with noise on our 12 day stay. We would rather face the road than the pool due to the noise that comes from that side.

The staff were all pleasant, they clearly work hard and it’s very hot. They keep the pool area tidy from empty cups which is great to keep the bugs away (this was an issue 2 years ago). In the restaurant they cleared plates as soon as we’d finished them apart from breakfast seemed slower on the clean up but generally had less staff too. We had no issues with this as we will often use the same plate where possible if we are heading back from seconds and the tables are not small so lots of room to move finished plates away.

The staff are on it with telling people who are not supposed to be in this hotel to leave and those who have not got AI that the snack bar self serve is not for them too. As a payer of the AI facility this was good to see.

Check in - small wait for reception. Only 2 staff on, and only 3 checking in but existing guests were also making enquiries at the same time so we had a short wait. We arrived about lunchtime and room was ready which was great.

Food - great choice; kids area would be a welcome addition. We often took nuggets from the snack bar in for my 5 year old as she’s not keen on different foods and we wanted to get hot veg for her so just the snack bar food wasn’t enough for a balanced meal for her.
Themed nights and after 12 days we were ready for a change of food. Allergy labels have improved since 2022 and GF/DF vegan and veggie options and areas are well labelled too.

Pool is great lots of shade and the new slides are a great addition. Lots of poolside activities to do and entertainment crew were brilliant.

The hotel itself is visually appealing, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end.

The rooms are incredibly noisy; you can hear every sound your neighbor makes. The balconies face a busy road, forcing you to keep everything closed to block out the noise.

The food is, without a doubt, the worst I’ve ever had—or rather, not had, because it’s so bland. There's no variety whatsoever. The waiting staff is rude, and dirty plates often sit untouched after meals. If you’re on a half-board plan, they scrutinize you closely to ensure you don’t take anything from the drink dispenser, even though it’s available during breakfast. They then make you pay on the spot while delivering a condescending lecture on how to handle drinks. I’ve never encountered such a policy at any hotel before, and the way it’s enforced cheapens the entire experience, especially with such rude handling.

I would never consider booking anything at this hotel chain again. Hard avoid.

From arrival to leaving, the staff are wonderful. Very friendly and with a smile.
There is absolutely nothing to complain about the food, accommodating all tastes and plenty of dishes for the kids. There is also a vegan menu.
Hotel is kept clean to a very high standard, to the point when the rain caused a flood it was talked efficiently and speedy.
Rooms are new and fresh, mattresses slightly hard but no problem sleeping.
The walk in shower is a full drencher, just need to watch the drain clears quick, if not lift the grate and pull plastic cover and all will be back to normal. If not confident enough to fo this the hotel is aware of this problem and will sort it.
Pool area is not huge and sun beds are taken quickly, you can use other hotel facilities but as we did not use them can't comment.
Big thank you to all staff for making our holiday a pleasure.
P.S a trip to Tarragona is a must

Stay for a week - the hotel has had an upgrade and the rooms were very comfortable with amazing high pressure showers - staff work hard to keep the hotel and pool area spotlessly clean and are always helpful and polite.
Basic range of drinks on the all inclusive menus and cocktails from a machine unless you paid - great self serve beer on tap which is good - waiting staff happy to bring you drinks out to the pool.
Food was plentiful and well presented but unfortunately very bland and even though it was themed daily Mexican, Chinese etc it was basically the same, all the meats were very cheap cuts - lamb neck, veal chicken - usually honey and fatty - vegans had there own section with lots of choice.
Breakfast was the better of the 3 meals. The snack bar is first rate, burgers, pizza, fries, salads.
The entertainment was pretty poor especially on an evening - only 2 acts out or the 7 nights were bought in the rest was staff children’s disco and quiz nights.
If you are expecting a 4* hotel you will be disappointed, 3* at best with lots to improve on.

Excellent place for value, probably the best AI we have stayed. Now on our second day and having a great time. The local AL spirits here are really good and can't tell the difference from Smirnoff....The lager is Estrella is very nice... Fanta Zero orange and Zero lemon is lovely also coke and coke light are good quality.... tip, get ur spirits from bar and add ur mixer to your own taste from the self-serve.

Our room 3018, is lovely and has everything we need, pool view, air con, mini fridge, BBC 1 & 2, ITV 1 & 2, channels 4 and 5....a bit faffy doing the TV & QR code etc but sure the reception would help if needed. On the ground floor so are one level down from the reception to pool or restaurant, if you want an early nite it can be be very noisy if ur facing the pool.

Free safe and WIFI..... bonus !

Anyone with mobity issues, please bear in mind that if you book a duplex apartment the wc is on the ground floor....something which would have detered me from upgrading, but, so far so good and I have managed OK with the stairs in the middle of the night...a comment i didn't see on any review so please bear in mind if u have any mobility issues and hope this helps?

I am a very fussy eater...meat n potatoes only however, the food has been lovely so far....gorgeous pork ribs, meaty burgers and chicken breast steaks yesterday for lunch and dinner and lovely beef ribs for lunch today. Not tried the snack bar but it all looks very nice (cheese n ham toasties, nuggets, burgers, hotdogs, pizza).

Only one negative, no smoke free tables around the pool, our lovely rep did inform me that the sunloungers are no smoking but I like to sit at a table.....hopefully TUI will address this as smoking around the entrance to the pool means walking thru a smoky area, not good, but also sets a bad example to the kids. Our wonderful rep Magdalana is going to raise this with TUI.

Great bus links to Salou, Tarragona, Cambrills, TIP...buy a pre leaded ticket from PLANA shop on the front 20 journeys (can be used for 2 people) for 17 euros for 20 journeys , less than 1 euro per trip (3 euros if the bus does take cash). Brilliant place and will return.

You also have a fridge in your room so you can buy drinks at local supermarket cheap and chill them in your room to take down to pool area or in the outside area watching the show - saw people doing this with no problem - buy drinks can be purchased at meal times and from bar too. If you use the fridge remember to leave a room card in to keep power on in your room. Have a great time.
