After staying in various hotels and lodges in Lubumbashi, i checked into The Riverside Hotel. It is definitely the best of the worst. If you have to stay in the DRC then you had better check in here.

Plenty hot water and pressure which is hard to find in this country. WiFi that generally works well, cant say the same for all the competition.

The room are large and clean with English TV, also not always guaranteed.

The staff could do with a bit of a shake up, but like i said this is common in the DRC.

We spend quite a few days at the Riverside during the holiday. It's the most peaceful spot in town, by far. The service is outstanding... Great dining and entertainment.
I would highly recommend to international travelers looking for a quality stay in Lubumbashi

On a business trip to Lubumbashi recently we were looking for somewhere new to stay. Wanted something comfortable but different to the standard guesthouse offerings found regularly in Lubumbashi. On arrival at the River Side we were overwhelmed. What a beautiful setting! It is a new hotel and splendidly laid out. We were taken on a full tour of all the accommodation facilities and were provided with a very friendly introduction. Will definitely be staying there from now on. The cuisine was outstanding.

the place is ok but i left my belongings in storage for another visit . upon my return, my belongings were no longer at the hotel but by mistake given to someone else.
apparently, the hotel knows the man who took my belongings but until now has not taken possession of my goods to return them to me. There is no follow-up and is being dismissed as it has never happened before, this is Africa Congo, and not Europe and there was no value. I would recommend staying at Pullman or the new Novotel and forgetting Riverside

The Hotel is isolated from the City and is in a calm place. The accessibility although bad but the scenery and views are awesome. The staff is very very friendly and the food is also awesome. The pool side is also very nice. Great build structure and a good bar at night.

I stayed for 6 nights in this beautiful hotel which is in a quiet location and whose gardens are lovely and serene. There is even a resident antelope! The rooms are quiet, spacious, tastefully furnished and everything works and all is spotlessly clean. The service at reception was friendly and helpful. Service in the dining room was fairly quick but a bit of a disappointment as many items on the menu were not available and the chicken was tough as leather, while no attempt at an apology was offered. Only got for beef in the the evenings! There is a bar, but for drinks with dinner, there is pathetically little variety. The breakfast had a good variety but getting hot milk for coffee was impossible - as luke warm milk was the best they could do. In fact in the rooms, it is possible to make tea or coffee, but no milk was in the fridge and getting some initially was a mission! Prices start at U$160 per night B&B which is typical for this standard in Lubumbashi. Worth visiting.

Stayed for 2 weeks. Well received at Reception, Very pleasant staff from groundsmen to Management. Great gardens and rooms. Dining area staff are great but need to be a bit more attentive. Greater ease off access to taxi would be appreciated but if one advises in advance the hotel will call a taxi for your use. Had numerous business meetings and all were accommodated. I will be back.

Very nice hotel, the rooms are excellent. The choice of meals is very limited, and snacks could be added for the lunch menu. Very limited choices as i stayed for 6 nights. The breakfast menu is also limited, overall the service and friendliness of the staff is appreciated.Business travelers mind find it frustrating as no set time is arranged for breakfast so i missed it due to work obligations.

Beautifully set surroundings, very quiet and small hotel. Food is very good but limited choices. Marilyn Monroe bar is very lively, with live band on a Thursday evening. Enjoy cocktails at the swimming pool, beautiful ambiance. The rooms are fantastic and well maintained.
