The guesthouse is old and needs a revamp. We stayed in the orange room, which was clean but very basic. When we tried to turn on the TV, it blew the entire plug point. Whole place needs a coat of paint, new furniture and appliances

Typical bed and breakfast.
bathrooms a bit dated, but rooms were nice.

Never met Desire the owner, however Aubrey was excellent. he and the rest of the staff were very helpfull and attended to all our needs.
We stayed in the blue room with our two children. Comfortable beds, very clean and spacious. we had full use of the kitchen facilities as well as the braai area which was very convenient.

Negatives - having matric teen-agers on vacation at the same time is noisy. rooms are not sound proof at all. they also leave a mess where ever they go. (make sure if you go in December that they are not there at the same time)

Not on the beach but close enough to walk.

There was no info available on the local happenings or advice on restaurants etc. Some guidance would have been nice.

You need a good clutch and tyres in order to get into the parking area. The place is not as nice as the pictures. The pool pump time needs to be set to switch off at night, I eventually switched it off at 02h30 in the morning. Hospitality is good and I was well received on arrival and departure, thank you

My wife and I were very fortunate to find the friendly and reasonably priced Seaside Lodge after car trouble unexpectedly stranded us in Ballito. We hadn't planned to stay in the middle of any town, but nonetheless enjoyed the two days we spent here. The staff are friendly, the breakfasts good, and the rooms are nicely arranged and comfortable (we were in the Blue room). A short walk takes you to a safe beach, and there are also a number of shops close by.

We were booked in to this establishment for the night of 16/06/22. We had booked a self-catering room. The room we were shown to was dowdy and shabby, not at all what was expected, nor like the images posted on your website, which were colourful and vibrant. We did not stay at your establishment and are still awaiting our refund of R700. Upon arrival, it appeared that the staff were not equipped to deal with our dissatisfaction. We phoned Cindy on Friday, after our return to Hilton, from Salt Rock, who advised she was not working that day and we were to call her yesterday, as she had promised to contact bookings com on our behalf regarding our refund, we have not heard back from Cindy and our R700 appears to be somewhere in Cyberspace!! I am trusting that I shall receive an immediate response regarding this situation.

Never have I experienced such an unprofessional unwelcoming management as this. Indeed both manager and owner, quite rude, could learn from any Xhosa woman operating in village accomodation in Transkei. No idea of the concept "hospitality".
Premises in dire need for a refreshal.
Good luck

During our stay, two armed burglars gained access to Seaside Lodge and robbed a male guest during the early morning hours. The guest attempted to exit the sliding door of the room but to no avail for all the sliding doors have problems to lock and unlock. The guest screamed in terror and cried for help . We established the next day that the burglars fled the scene and although the guest survived, he was covered with blood.

The rooms, bathroom and kitchen where we stayed in was dirty and is way overdue for an upgrade, paint and new bedding. The bedding was torn and the rooms and bathroom had a urine smell. The Manager has no idea how to run a guest lodge, she had a "no care" attitude.

This place is not suitable and not recommended at all.

I do think people booking should be told the drive way is incredibly steep so bad that being in a little hired car I had to reverse and rev and shoot up the driveway.
A man there unknown to me opened the gate and carried my case up 3 steep flights if stairs to the most frightful room. Don't know if he was owner, security, or painter. Quite the smallest shower basin and toilet
I have ever seen. Grubby carpet. Certainly dies not deserve 3 *.
Took one look at it and went up the road for a light supper.
Good linen. No idea how to use tv.
Didn't meet owners. Dining room has ironing machine in it! Might be cheap but certainly not cheerful.
Never again.

Do not go into this property expecting the sun and moon! You get what you pay for & I was deeply satisfied with the experience. While the reception staff is missing for the most part & the location is not exactly beach facing, it's extremely close to the beach, cost effective & a superb option if you're on a serious budget. While parts of the rooms & infrastructure feel like they have indeed seen better days, and some of the stuff is kinda busted & weathered over time, remember you are here to stay on a budget and are not here to do an audit of the place. The beds are very comfortable and the copious soft pillows ensured that I slept like a baby..The weather was cool at nights which did not make having an A/C necessary (the unit lacked one but a ceiling fan) was there. The kitchen staff while unusually shy & not exactly conversationalists are efficient & know their job. I'm giving this a thumbs up!
