You feel like you are in the French countryside! The owners really did not spare any detail, from decor to furniture to the croissants - everything was genuine, authentic French design. The rooms and patio were spacious and lovely! Service excellent and well positioned in walking distance to the beach. Breakfasts were top notch!

We chose to stay in the chalet hiding in a corner of a tropical garden. Very spacious and beautiful French minimalist decor and private. Close to swimming pool that can be a little noisy with kids playing in the water, but I love the joyfully sounds of kid’s happiness. What I love about Salt Rock is that it is easy access from the airport and the beaches that is walking distance, very clean and protected and then you have superb restaurants @ Ballito to dine is the evenings. The location of Petite Provence is absolutely perfect and the breakfast was delicious.

The staff are beyond incredible and Miriam is a marvel. She was incredibly helpful when we arrived late for our check-in, patient & kind with my mom who had just been released from hospital. Nothing was too much of an effort for her. The other ladies too are amazing and always have a happy & warm smile to greet you with. Gert, the owner was very accommodating when we had to change our original dates as my mom had taken ill, very thoughtful & helpful & gave us a great rate for our upgrade. The staff jumped to action when after the 3rd night my back was in agony as I prefer a softer mattress, within half an hour they had found me one from an unoccupied room and my sleep (and back) improved so much - was so very grateful for that. The breakfast each morning is such an abundant spread, fresh and lovingly prepared by Miriam and her team.
This is home away from home set in paradise! Beautifully decorated, absolutely gorgeous garden, private and idyllic and not even a 10 minute walk from from the beach. You can also have a private lunch in the garden under the gazebo with food purchased from a local grocery store.
And what makes this amazing place even better is that they are pet friendly! They were so understanding when on our 2nd last day on a bit of a late lunch our two small dogs gave quite the performance from the bedroom.
I would highly recommend this fabulous place!

This is the most beautiful little gem of a B&B. Beautifully decorated and maintained the rooms are pleasantly decorated and comfortable. The room looked onto a lovely balcony which overlooked onto the pretty garden. However more bottled water was needed either in the fridge or in the bathrooms. The room did not have a shower which should have been advised on checking in however the hand bath/shower worked. Breakfast was delicious and the service was outstanding. A lovely place and definitely worth a return visit

I’m writing this review after just one night of four. Absolutely beautiful. Imo it has that great Greek Taverna feel about it, the place has oodles of character and yet very successfully manages to provide all mod cons.
The room (we had No.11, a suite) was just so big and catered for more than we could have imagined. Amenities included large screen tv, Wi-Fi, walk in shower, curved top bath, fridge, air con, huge Queen size bed and much more.
Breakfast was superb, with fruit, cereals, freshly baked pastries, toast and yoghurt all laid out and readily available and the hot breakfast was cooked to order and was faultless.
I was part of a large wedding party so there were around 14 of us but they catered for us all quite easily and meeting up was also easy as there were several outdoor places around the grounds where we could all gather, eat and drink and the local monkeys and gheko’s provided a little light entertainment.
Finally, the staff. 10 out of 10 all day long. Extremely friendly, nothing was ever to much and they catered for our every whim and request, and all with a big broad smile.

We spent seven nights at La Petite Provence and had an absolutely wonderful relaxing and restful stay. This was a return visit as we had been so impressed after our first visit last year. The accommodation is set in beautiful, well maintained gardens which surround the pool area. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the breakfasts delicious and the location is very convenient and within walking distance to Salt Rock Beach. The staff and host are incredibly welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We look forward in anticipation of our next visit. Thank you for such a delightful week.

From the moment my partner and I drove into Petite Provence, we knew that we made an excellent choice. We were then welcomed warmly and thereafter escorted to our room. The room’s decor was so beautiful with that french touch, which is the overall theme of the the B&B.

The breakfast was delectable, the general staff was so amazing and helpful too, to co-owner made it feel like home away from home.

Thanks for making my partner’s birthday weekend and our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back!

We made our booking on the 27th of August, roughly a month prior to our travel. When we got there, we weren't happy with the room allocated as we had requested a top floor room, but were given a ground floor unit. When we alerted them of this, they said they were fully booked and had no alternatives to offer us. Once they called the person responsible for making bookings, she asked them to show us another room on the top floor - close to reception and dining area, smaller, no mini kitchenette, limited Dstv channels, old and questionably clean bedding, floors creaked, paper thin walls - this was the 'Laurier room'. When we complained about the quality of our room, the booking agent said there was nothing more they could do to make us more comfortable and that maybe we should look for something else for the remainder of our stay. In addition to this the breakfast was limited, the only positive was the friendly staff. So basically the facilities in that room need updating. DISAPPOINTING.

We're truly sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay and we apologize for this. Regarding the breakfast: it is true that our breakfast is still not currently back to its former glory (as it used to be before lockdown). Because of COVID-19 we are not able to provide the full spread of breakfast and buffet as many people are still afraid of the spread of the virus with this style of breakfast. We do hope however, to soon rectify this as the pandemic becomes something of the past. Relating to your room: we are very sorry that we did not pick up your request earlier on so that we could have provided you with the correct room from the start. We will look into the room that you pointed out so that we can look to see if we can make any improvements. We would like to point out that these rooms are our standard rooms which are the original rooms of the house that are older and smaller but we still try to keep them quaint, clean and in the true French Provence style. Thank you for pointing this out as we will attempt to update this room so as to improve the stay of future guests.

Rooms were very nice, I booked a room with a king size bed and bunk bed, but on arrival, I only got a King size bed, they had to covert the couch into a bed for our daughter, although I paid for bunk beds. Anyways, it wasn't a problem, just a concern why I had to pay more for that. Also, the pool was not very clean, lots of leafs inside. But in saying that, the stay was still good, with good service. Breakfast area was very humid and hot, and not very pleasant to sit and eat, maybe consider adding some fans there or something to cool the area off.

Hi. Thank you for taking the time to review us. Our luxury suites are equipped with a day bed for a 3rd person and this was what was booked as none of our rooms have bunk beds. The pool is maintained on a regular basis but we apologize for it being slightly dirty that day. The breakfast area is outside under the veranda to give our guests the serene feel of an outdoor breakfast with the convenience of being out of the sun. As this is Durban, the humidity is generally a constant this time of year but we will definitely look at getting some fans to cool off the breakfast area. We're glad you enjoyed your stay overall and look forward to hosting you again in the future!

We spent six nights at La Petite Provence, and had an absoultely wonderful stay. The room was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, the breakfasts were delicious and sumptuous, and excellent variety. We were well set up for the day! The location of the B and B is very convenient, in walking distance to Salt Rock Beach, and easy driving to many other locations and attractions. The B and B is set in very tranquil gardens with a pool, and our room had a lovely patio area for relaxing. The staff and host were incredibly welcoming, friednly, and helpful. This is defintiely one of the loveliest B and Bs that we have stayed in!
