I stayed here for ten nights at the end of August until the 5 September, The trip from the UK with transfers was just over 24 hours from door to door, We had booked the garden room for our stay. The room was well maintained and had some lovely features including TV and WIFI, You were allowed to take six soft drinks a day from the mini bar at no charge if you were on all inclusive, The all inclusive is good but it does not cover everything you have a selection of drinks and can only eat in the main restaurant which is all buffet meals but all meals were of a good quality and there was plenty of choice. If you wanted to go to the al la cartes they are very expenisve you get 20% off if your on all inclsuive but some of them cost over 100 dollars plus service charge and taxes per head, The main buffet is fine and plenty of tasty choices every day, There is also a coffee shop on site and you can have afternoon tea here included in your all inclusive from 4 to 6 pm, Lovely snacks, This island has plenty to do Badminton, Darts, Snooker. Pool, sauna, steam room which are all included in the package, The snorkelling is good but some of the currents are quite strong, Be careful as in some areas the fish are quite agressive and I was bitten by one, Did not stop me snorkelling but was painful. Only one incident so think I was unlucky, Saw sharks, stingrays, manta rays turtles and got to swim with most of them, A great place to stay the staff are friendly and helpful and speak some english, I dont usually go back to the same place but could return here, Thank you for a lovely stay and for all the lovley extra touches,…
We had a wonderful holiday at Sun Island in May 2019, it is a beautiful island with scenic views from all sides. The water color is blue, with white sands and is so amazingly beautiful. The hotel is also suitable for families apart from couples. Most of the guests, are majorly Europeans and Asians. The Hotel staff are extremely helpful and take every effort to make your stay comfortable. We had a great time with the entertainment team Mr.Lito, Ms.Lera and DJ Belz. They hosted aqua gym, Zumba, yoga and many other fun activities near the pool area. Also a lot of games and entertainment was planned every evening which made the evenings fun and vibrant. They involved almost all the guests by encouraging everyone to participate and join the various programs. Kudos to them, for making the entertainment at the hotel both fantastic and memorable!! The hotel has cycles on rent, which really adds to the fun.Kids too had cycles so the whole family can join in the activity. We stayed in Superior beach bungalow, which was really spacious and well equipped with amenities with an awesome view of the beach right in front of our room. We also stayed at the water villa which was very beautiful and spacious with views which are breathtaking. Since we were with kids, we would prefer the Superior Beach bungalow next time again, as water Villa is a bit too risky with toddlers and young kids if they r left unattended. We did kayaking and fishing both of which were complimentary. The hotel has many water sports activities. The food also was really good with continental, Asian and Indian cuisines. We loved the Indian food options,delicious food and variety. The chefs too were very friendly and do a great job with the food. Special mention of Chef Premkumar, Chef Chandaran, housekeeping staff Achindar. All of them made our stay comfortable and memorable. When we first arrived at Sun Island we were greeted by the many staff and had a very warm hospitable welcome. The resort itself is very clean and picturesque, however not much to do. The list of excursions they have are very pricey and minimal. No shops on the resort apart from one which was very expensive. We were there for 7 nights which was too much as we got bored by the 4th night. Jet ski and other activities were very expensive, so even though we were all inclusive it only really meant food and drink. Drinks which were from a limited list. The all inclusive restaurant choice was good but I found sometimes the food was abit raw. One of the managers Mode was very hospitable and really looked after us when we expressed we were bored and wanted to leave a day early. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience however only need a few nights there rather than 7 like we had.…
I would like to specify the staff are so helpful and friendly. Specially the bell boys special mentioned Gadoor, Baskar and the rest team I dont remember their names. They work so hard, sending guests and pick up door to door. They are always willing to serve to all the guests. I asked them few times for buggy even it was a rush hour, arrival and departure guests they had but still trying to help us. Thank you everyone and the management for fullfilling our trip. Thank you also to Ms. April, Rosalie, and reservation team for granting our specific room request. Thank you also to Mr. Azhan for accommodating my husband for his hotel inspection. After almost 9 years I have given a chance to visit Sun Island again. I would say, there is a big difference now than few years back. Specially now is very clean everywhere. Well organised indeed.
