Even though this was my 6th time at Albion, I again wanted to return the minute I left the gate. What makes this place so magical? A distinct combination of beautiful surroundings, spacious rooms, delicious food, wonderful staff who make every effort to make you feel at home, entertaining shows and, for me, the availability of flying trapeze and a great circus team. The resort is situated in a park like environment that borders on the ocean. You will wake up to the sounds of birds singing and encounter them in different colors walking through the resort. Nature also brings mosquitoes so be sure to bring repellent. The coastline of the resort has a beach for swimming (although the water there is not always clear due to the river that meets the sea there) and various smaller more secluded spots with clear water, white sand and rocks (bring water shoes!) under beautiful old trees (with flowers when I was there). The superior room I had (260) was spacious and felt luxurious due to the chosen color design, amenities and great service by the room attendant Rati. Not only did she have a great eye for detail she also always was in a good mood and in for a nice chat. The food in the resort is delicious and hats off to the chefs who also made sure plenty of vegetarian options were available. What really makes the difference at Albion however is the staff: the staff (GO’s) go out of their way to make sure you have the most memorable experience. One of the first nights we were there we met Acir who remained the most wonderful host with amusing stories at Aperitif, dinner and great dancing at the nightly parties during my entire stay (and who also does very entertaining aqua aerobics during the day), Dylan, Dylan and his colleagues at the bar who remembered what I would order before I even did, Tarik who in his role as assistent CdV was literally everywhere to greet people and make sure everything was okay, Alexandre, Daniella, Dorian, Allegra, Nadine (and many more whose names I unfortunately do not remember) as friendly faces on several occasions and last but not least the absolutely amazing circus team: Gitish, Enes, Jeremy, Cindy, Adelphe, Julia and Margaux. Their professional individualized instruction, their passion, patience and positive challenging enabled me to accomplish things on the flying trapeze I would not have deemed possible when I checked in. And in addition they also put spectacular performances together themselves that you can admire during the nightly shows (White sensation night on Wednesday with an amazing circus show in the pool, the performances during the Million Dreams show).

I have stayed at both Club Med resorts in Mauritius.
Albion is a 5 star resort and the food and drink selection match that. Club Med is all inclusive although I tend to pay for wine rather than drink the free house wine.
As a couples resort Albion is fantastic. The adults only zen pool is a great place to spend time with its own bar and restaurant. Both resort pools are rim flow infinity pools with endless sea views.
The beach area is disappointing though, if you want white sand, clear water and water sports Club Med at Point de Cannonaires is a better bet and with young kids I think a better option.
For adults who want a relaxing pool holiday I can recommend Albion. The staff are all next level as I have come to expect from Club Med and the sea view rooms are beautiful - well worth the extra.

As a family of 4 Australians visiting Mauritius and staying in Flic en Flac, we decided to buy all inclusive day passes (10am through 5pm) to spend the day at Club Med. as non-Mauritians, the price was Rs3700 per adult and Rs2600 per teen. We had to book and buy this directly from the hotel as we could t find anywhere online that offers this package to non-Mauritians.

This makes for an expensive day out but for us it was great value. It includes all local drinks for the full 7 hours (wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks, tea/coffee), a large buffet lunch selection, afternoon tea,, use of the pool (including the aqua aerobics which was a good laugh), use of the private beach and use of kayaks and stand up paddle boards at the beach.

There are showering and changing facilities, including a locker for storing valuables in the change room. There are other land based activities available too such as a tennis court.

We made very good use of the drinks package and all the facilities. The lunch selection had a range of cooking stations- some more authentic than others. I highly recommend the grilled fish and steak station, the Mauritian and Indian dishes were great. My son loved the Italian station. There were cheeses and salads etc, as well as an extensive dessert selection. The only dish I didn’t enjoy was the Laksa which tasted incredibly bland.

One of the things we enjoyed was the buffet experience as a “once off” rather than being stuck eating similar food every day in a resort, which can become monotonous.

Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, and all were bilingual in both French and English. For something different while visiting Mauritius I would highly recommend doing an “all inclusive” day here.

This was a return visit that delivered!
Club Med is a great family destination that provides a combination of opportunities for fun and relaxation. The refurbishments have created beautiful spaces and the team led by Mehdi ensured that we all had a fabulous holiday. Our teens and their friends were in the capable care of GO Hans who ensured they bonded with visitors from other countries despite language differences. The sport facilities are great. The Trapeze team with GOs Jeremy, Gabi, Claudia and Nabilah stretched our daughter's skills with new tricks every day. Their patience and concentration is really admirable. The boathouse crew with John and Ricardo provided daily sea based fun for my husband and GO Marine taught me yoga and Eloise and Danilo provided wonderful music every evening before dinner. Hugo and the DJ kept us dancing every evening.
We loved the contrasting atmosphere and decor of the zen area and La Phare where Fabrice served us. Establishing when this alternate dinner was available was tricky though as various staff members offered different information.
The service staff in the main dining room and bar were kind and attentive. Maeve and Jamika, Manesh and Axel were always ready for us. The chefs at each station were friendly and I enjoyed chatting with them to establish how they prepared the variety of meals we could choose from. The new bar and snack menu on the beach is a great addition and the Pancake man's treats, palmiers and fruit sorbets were delicious.
The resort is immaculately maintained and the estate staff have created a real haven for birds. Our room was beautifully serviced by Vanessa.
This was a very special holiday for us. Dancing, resting, swimming, laughing and eating, watching the entertainment and spending time with family and friends will be hard to replicate. Thank you to each staff member. Your commitment to service, your professionalism and friendliness were much appreciated.

The Club Med at La Plantation d’Albion probably represents at its best what Club Med’s success is about: putting customers at the heart of all attentions and mastering all aspects of hospitality management. Not to add that it’s in Mauritian’s people´s DNA to be friendly and welcoming. Starting with the Reception. Under the leadership of Trishi, the great Welcome & Hospitality team makes sure that you can just focus on what you are here for: relax, enjoy, recharge and have fun. A very special thanks to Julia V., Ousmane and Tal. On the accommodation side: junior suites with sea view are amazing and even if you are booked on a more standard room, you will enjoy a great cleaning service. To reach your room you will probably want to use a buggy transfer and it is super efficient (more than in other resorts perhaps also because the resort wasn’t full when I was there). Drivers are also all very kind and friendly. When time comes to eat there are several options. Overall the food is delicious, with lots of variety, fresh fish and meat everyday, lots of fruits etc. Much better than in other resorts of the same category. You may want to avoid Le Phare though the food’s quality and the view compensate for the extremely long waiting time be it for breakfast or dinner. A 30-minute waiting time for a plate of fresh fruits while the terrace is not full is not acceptable.
On the sport activities : again it would be difficult not to find an activity to make it for a healthy day. A very special thanks to Hadj at the tennis, to Zub at the scuba diving and to Larissa at the yoga. Amine is not only present day & evening to convey a great atmosphere in the resort but also lead this amazing smiling sport team. In the evening you will attend great shows or special nights like the White night. Difficult to mention all GOs as they are all making sure that you enjoy your time. I will not forget Maeva and her colleagues at la Boutique and to keep the best for the end: Mehdi the Chef de Village, is extremely present and visible. No doubt that the success of the resort results from his special touch!

Tips to make a greater experience :
Play more recent music at the night club (depending on the DJ)
Restaurant: often meat and fish are too raw. Serve fresh squeezed orange juice at Le Phare

We particularly had personalised and attentive care from Pascal in Sports, also Nico and Mati (Circus) as well as Anshley and Rachel and Esteban in excursions. We also had a lot of great experience with Enzo and Delphine of Sport team too.
The rooms were great, and the cleaning service was good and efficient and very good at being flexible when one of the family was unwell and needed to stay in bed for the morning. I had requested non-allergy (non feather pillows) and by the end of the week, I realised that these had not been provided. I hadn't realised earlier as I arrived with a cold, so put my poor breathing down to this.
The meals were wonderful, but by the end of the week, I was finding the repetition a little too much, and finding it harder to find new things to eat. However, I do have particular dietary needs, and some food allergies, so most people wouldn't find this a problem. The 2 evenings when food was served elsewhere were very lovely.
We went to the Alouda for a late breakfast one day and that was a disaster. The staff didn't get one thing correct in our order, we waited 20 mins for tea, and then they brought literally a tea bag and we had to ask 4 times for hot water and a cup! I wouldn't recommend this venue, especially as the normal buffet breakfast is so fantastic! We had lovely service from Rohan in the main restaurant and the fruit chopping chef was really friendly and helpful and seemed to love that our 11 year old always came for placte of fruit rather than all the desserts!
We were very disappointed by the Teens club and didn't feel it gave enough structure, or had enough cohesion. Our 11 and 16 year olds found it hard to meet other teens or make friends which was disappointing after having had great experiences with Junior Club Med in the past. It would be nicer if they had a programme, and had meals togther and if the leaders made more of an effort to get the groups to gel. Staff in general seemed unaware of the differences between teens club and kids club, and so this led to a lot of confusion also.
When planning our daily activities, we found the app very un-userfriendly to use, and would have liked to have an option of a printed timetable of activities or a way to indicate interest in an activity so we could get reminders near the time. Even a screen in reception with the days activities would have been helpful. Also the activites that were on the app, were not always correct or with the correct time, which led to issues with planning the day. Information and communication in general were weak.
The Chef de Village was fun, getting involved in shows and being around to meet people in general, but he did also seem quite aloof.
In general, we had an amazing time and would come back in a heartbeat, all the niggles were very much "first world problems" but Club Med should address them to make this a truly luxury experience.

Horrible service. You constantly feel on edge and staff looks at you irritated when you ask anything. Honestly felt like everyone working there was on vacation and I was interrupting their fun. Resort is big but if you want a beach holiday, the beach is dirty and very small. I went snorkeling and came back without seeing a single fish. Additionally, almost zero safety precautions are taken for the sports activities. Some food is very bad to a point you can't even eat it. Also not many options for gluten-free and dairy-free people. There is a very serious mosquito problem. The cleaning staff starts cleaning infront of the rooms with a vaccuuming machine at 7am so it is impossible to sleep in the mornings after 7am. Apart from 1 bartender, others have no idea what they are doing. Don't get me wrong, I like a strong cocktail, but all of the cocktails I've drank tasted bitter because of the amount of alcohol they put in it. Also if you have any allergies, I would suggest you to be very careful. I once asked a cocktail with passion fruit and I was served something with pineapple instead. Of course, to me it was fine, but anyone who has an allergy can suffer from a behavior like this.

We booked two interconnecting rooms on the website (per their instructions) so we could be connected to our two year old and 3 month old baby. Upon arrival, we were told we only booked one room, which was not correct and we had to show our confirmation to get them to agree with giving us two rooms. Then we were told there are no connecting rooms available and the rooms were far away from each other, which isn't an option with two young children. We decided to stay in one room all together and asked for a refund. We were instead offered credit which we have still not received. We paid nearly double for our holiday and it wasn't worth the price. The food was excellent, but the beach was ugly, nothing like other resorts on the island. Because of its location and poor customer support I wouldn't recommend this resort and don't anticipate coming back to Club Med, which is a shame because I was a Club Med baby myself and hoped for many years of family holidays there with my own family.

I have always recommended a club med experience to all my family and friends.

On the 27 Dec 2019, family members of mine, following my positive recommendation have booked a day pass at the club. A day pass runs from 10 00 hours to 18 00 hours. The price for an adult is more than MUR 3000

They arrived at the club at around 930 and were refused entry by the security the reason is that a day pass starts at 10 00, they were given plastic chairs in the parking area and were told to wait until 10 00 hours.

I find this attitude very insulting and pathetic service

I wish the chief of the village enquire about this incidental

Food was the same every breakfast, lunch and supper (substandard) with flies on the food
French guests get preference over South Africans.
Bar Service was slower once you speak in English.
Rooms were not very clean - our shower was blocked, and we keep having to call reception which then takes forever for someone to come and sort out.
This was our last stay at Club Med Mauritius.

Hi. You can dress up for dinner, they have themes every night, but it is not necessary to do it. On the Club Med app, they have the themes in advance.
