Great farm stay. Elegant, lots of old country furniture, original art on the walls (mostly by the hostess/owner), spacious, comfortable and immaculate. Private stoep overlooking beautiful garden, shady parking for car. The kitchenette is well equipped but cooking facilities may be a bit limited to prepare full meals. But the dinners on offer are amazing: elegant, delicious, affordable, and more than enough, using some farm produce. Warm welcome and lots of personal touches.

Saartjie was a wonderful host.
Unit is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Loved being able to walk around the farm after the journey
We'd ordered dinner which was delicious and highly recommend. Pumpkin amazing.
We had come through from Malgas so caught the ferry across the river which was fun.
Canola fields in August were in flower making the area even prettier.
Close to De Hoop without paying the very expensive rates for accommodation there.
Saw lots of blue cranes in the fields with sheep on the way to DeHoop

We booked 2 nights via booking.com and we're so happy with the choice. The hosts are very friendly. We booked breakfast and dinner 2 days ahead because we decided spontaneously that we didn't wanna cook. The meals we got were great!
Also we really enjoyed the company of the farm animals.
The apartment was spacious, clean and decorated with a love for detail.
If we visit de hoop nature reserve again, we would most definitely stay at Potteberg Guest Farm again.

We had booked one night here since we wanted to be as close as possible to De Hoop Reserve without spending a fortune (the cottages inside the reserve are outrageously expensive!) and this just seemed to be the closest option but it ended up being one of the best accommodation of our trip in SA. The apartment was huge, with two bedrooms ensuite and so nicely decorated! Painting at the walls (some of which done by the very talented farm owner), antique forniture, extremely comfortable beds.... we loved it! We decided we wanted Santrjje to take care of our breakfast and dinner and this was a great choice: excellent home made food and plenty of it (I am travelling with two starving young boys!). Santrjje was also very nice and offered us the opportunity to stay in the apartment as long as we wanted the following day since nobody had booked it and it was very nice to take it easy and relax on a rainy day.

My wife and I stayed at Potteberg guest house the weekend that we participated in the "Whale of Trail" race at De Hoop. Niel and Saartjie were very friendly, helpful and excellent hosts. We will definitely visit again with our children as there are so many attractions in the vicinity including the vulture colony at Potberg, all the surrounding hikes as well as the De Hoop nature reserve. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to "De Hoop collection" from the guest house.

We stayed there for two nights and we loved it.It is a very nice place to relax. The hosts were so friendly and helpfully. We loved all the cats and the dog on the farm.

We stayed at Potteburg Guest House for two nights whilst exploring the De Hoop Nature Reserve, which is about 10km from the guest house. The self contained annex guest house is on a working farm and the hosts, Niel and Saartjie, are full of knowledge of the local area. The location is very peaceful and relaxing, but there are no nearby restaurants, so 'eating in' is the best option, especially as the breakfasts (included) and evening meals (extra) were exceptional. Saartjie is an excellent cook and can prepare beautiful local dishes. An added attraction is that the surrounding farmland has walks to bird hides and viewpoints. Well worth a visit.
