My friend and I just stayed here one night as a stop on our way to Mancora. There is a lot of street noise and they are doing some sort of work in the place as well that involves hammering and intermittent electricity. Clean, cheap, friendly, easy to find and close access to downtown. Fine if the noise isn't an issue for you.

Gracias por su valorización. Entendemos la molestia por los trabajos que se realizaban en ese momento. Hemos instalado en el 50% de las habitaciones vidrios antiruido, y a partir de febrero 2013 estamos instalando en las habitaciones restantes estas ventanas que sin duda eliminan el ruido. Esperamos poderlo atender próximamente.

Convenient location; rather noisy so bring some ear plugs!
The area felt generally safe during the day, the hotel have their own security. Didn't try the pool or breakfast.
Wi-Fi was ok.
Staff were on the whole nice and helpful.
Very clean and modern rooms. Had A/C which was a must when I stayed!

I spent 7 nights at this hotel. I was very pleased with the accommodations and service. First of all, the personnel were ready to help me in whichever way they could. The room was clean, a minor leak in the lavatory which was not a problem. I requested more towels and they inmediately obliged. I left the room for the day and came back later to a clean room and fresh bedding, Breakfast was included in the price of the room, with room service. The small restaurant downstairs serves very good food and cheap, too. The location is perfect, it is within walking distance to downtown. Piura is a very noisy town, I had a room that faced the pool, it was nice and quite. I will go back to Hotel El Sol next time I visit Piura. I do recommend this hotel. Be generous with the tip, it helps : )

We called the hotel 3 hours to check if room were available and to confirm the price of $47 we saw on Expedia. Once arrived the owner we taked to was not there and the front desk tried to charge 3 time the quoted price! We walked out and had to look for another hotel.

Hotel is very nice, lady at check was very welcoming.
Room is clean and good, quiet Air conditioning.
Breakfast was nice, Wifi was strong.
No complaints
And they had a discount on the price for mothers day weekend when we stayed.
Probably the best thing in piura, definitely the cleanest!
