We spent our holiday this year at the St.Elias Waterpark and resort we chose it for its location which was only 20 mins to the center and of course the facilities that it provided..On arrival we were greeted so kindly and professionally. The hotel rooms were a good size and spotless there was a selection of pools and jacuzzi to choose from but we chose the hotels mini Waterpark as we had the children who were fully entertained. The staff members where friendly and took our safety seriously as all measures where taken and all covid protocol executed correctly by sanitising and disinfecting constantly. The lifeguards Demetri and Tony where great and barista Ioanna accommodating and a pleasure to meet. As well as Mr Sergio who did everything to make our stay there comfortable who was always willing to take a moment out of his busy schedule to say hello and to share a joke or two. The hotels restaurant had a different menu every night with a variety of foods for all it was tasty and well presented. The best part of the holiday was the staff..Thank you all for a superb holiday we highly recommend and we will certainly visit this establishment again...

We spent a week in this superb resort with my family at the end of July 2020.

Covid19

At the time, Cyprus and Finland shared similar, low Covid19 infection situations. When we arrived we were pleased with the safety and hygiene requirements and measures regarding the room and other premises. All guests were required to wear masks and disposable gloves when entering the buffet area during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hand disinfectant was provided everywhere, and the staff wore masks. There were also not so many tourists in the resort due to the travel restrictions/requirements, which made our stay free of crowds. On the weekend there were a lot of locals staying in the hotel, though. We felt safe throughout our stay.

The food and service

Five stars!! Petros the chef paid attention to the smallest details, and served the guests the most delicious variety of dishes. Understandably, only the main restaurant was open during this time, but having all inclusive passes we ate there mornings, lunches and dinners. Particularly the salads and vegetables, fresh and grilled, made my mouth water - it was perfection. The dessert table was also too delicious, with the selection of chocolate cakes being dangerously inviting. The kids were also taken into account well, even the pickiest youngs found something good to eat. I never ate so well anywhere before!!

The staff at the restaurant were super friendly, and kept proactively asking us if we wanted a drink and cleaning the table. This is five star service. Even at the pool we were asked if we had had our daily frappe or if we would like a drink or our daughter a scoop of ice cream. Antonio, Stella and Pavel were wonderful and we’d like to extend our thanks to their wonderful and positive way of working.

Room

We had a room with a small kitchen and lounge area. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows a bit flat. The air conditioning worked well. The water in the shower ran a bit ’weakly’, but it was perfectly ok. The room was 4 stars, but we were totally happy with the space and cleanliness.

The pool area

Was super! The music in the family / water park area was awesome, and that combined with the slides, kids’ pool and the bigger pool were completely enough for us, particularly since it was too hot to be anywhere else than in the pool or the room during daytime.

The surrounding area

We walked up the St Elias church one evening and enjoyed the gorgeous view over Protarias. Recommended! We also walked to the beach a couple of times, and were happy we brought the pram for our already a bit bigger daughter due to the heat. There is also a small amusement park maybe 10 min from the resort in Protarias, offering mini golf and other fun stuff for small and bigger kids too.

In a nutshell: if you want to relax and eat too well, I’d pick this resort anytime :)

LOVED IT! This is our first stay at the Louis St Elias Resort & Waterpark, we booked a 5 day stay - UAL. After these difficult COVID-19 times they succeeded to bring back safety and high standard services. Upon arrival your temperature is checked through a thermal camera and masks are given to you which are required at the buffet (we kept ours as a souvenir 😊). The entire staff wears masks, hand sanitizers are found everywhere and disinfectant spray is used frequently by staff around the hotel public areas, these requirements are taken not only seriously, but in good spirit as well.
We made the trip with our 7 and 5 year old children and chose the St.Elias because we wanted to stay at the resort the whole time to relax and enjoy some quality and fun time with them. The resort has its own waterpark and a kids pool with water games, which I also enjoyed at the fullest. For sure the best family resort I’ve ever been too.
All staff and management were beyond friendly and accommodating and you could feel their smiles behind the masks😷. Room cleaning was spotless. Pool service was fantastic, cocktails were delicious, I highly recommend trying the strawberry daiquiri and the food OMG!!! all meals were delicious with different theme nights every day plus a huge variety for vegans, kitchen staff were more than happy to answer any query we had. Overall yummy!!!

During COVID-19 trying to find a place to escape to isn’t easy and to be honest i had my hesitations, but St Elias has hit the right balance. Exquisite service under very difficult conditions is really hard to pull off, but St Elias managed to do so.

For sure we will be returning next year!! Thank you guys so much highly recommended especially for families! In the meantime if you are looking for an escape this is the place.

This was our second visit to the hotel, our first was in 2019 and after trying a different resort out last year we couldn’t help but compare and decided to go back.

This hotel offers everything you could wish for, set in beautiful surroundings it’s small enough to be friendly but large enough to offer the level of service you’d expect in a 5* resort. We made the mistake of trying to eat out a lot on our first visit and were always disappointed, the food quality and presentation is beyond any other AI I have stayed in. Everything is fresh, and hot and the restaurant staff are very attentive, wine/Prosecco/beer all served in glasses which is a nice touch. This year we ate at the hotel every day, it was always delicious. Also they have a Covid system of gloves and sanitiser so you can help yourself which is amazing, the serving of food during Covid was a pain on my last holiday, this keeps the restaurant moving too so it doesn’t get congested.

The rooms are clean and simple, with very comfortable beds and very good air conditioning. All have some outdoor space which is lovely to watch the sunrise/set over St Elias.

The pools offer space for everyone, so if you prefer it busy then they main pool with the slides is great but the quiet pool was better for those who want a more chilled vibe. The lifeguards are really fun and make the pool a safe place to be.

The entertainment team were absolutely awesome. We had a message before we arrived from Jet 2 saying this wasn’t going to be available, however it started the day we arrived and there was a day time and evening programme which kept us busy. The children begged to go to the kids club! The entertainment team work so hard so get everyone involved, by the time we left 2/3 of my children were crying because they didn’t want to leave, this was down to the levels of engagement these guys have with the kids and they seriously made our holiday. The shows they put on were brilliant and there is also a mini disco 6 nights a week for the little ones which was lovely.

I also visited the spa and had an anti-stress massage, very relaxing thanks Antonio.

The ladies on the pool bar work so hard to keep everyone refreshed too.

I also had a few interactions with reception and they were so friendly and helpful. The management are physically present talking to guests etc and it feel like every single person working at the St Elias is there to make you feel welcome.

We went into Protaras a few times but it was so busy we quickly wanted to seek the tranquility of the hotel, it’s a nice walk of about 15 minutes but taxis are around €7 and easy to get etc
If you prefer to keep cool! Quite uphill on the way back but nothing too terrible if you are reasonably mobile.

If anyone is thinking about visiting this hotel
I would highly recommend it. We will certainly be back

Finally the Corona-ban seems to ease off.
We can travel again and get the R&R we like to think we deserve.
I know where I am going!
St. Elias Resort!
We have visited this wonderful hotel several times before and found it to become "our" hotel in Cyprus.
Why?
Well, fist on a personal note, we are blessed with two special needs children. At St Elias they can "be themselves" in safe surroundings.
The pools, the water slides, the shower playground. It is all perfect for them to enjoy them to enjoy life.
On a more grown up note; WOW!
The layout and design of it makes you feel like being in traditional island village more than a hotel. Low houses spread out on a hill side, tiled paths between flower beds and bushes trimmed and loved by local gardeners.
Pools clean maintained by professionals.
Food from chefs being proud of their history and tradition.
Rooms of fair size cleaned and looked after by ladies who go out of their way to make sure you have what ever you need and feel comfortable in beds of upper class quality.
All in all a hotel where any employee take pride in making sure you feel pampered and welcome.
Two weeks are booked and now September can't come quick enough!

Fantastic holiday, fantastic staff who work so hard from our maid to the receptionist thank you
These are the important things that we want for a fantastic holiday. Comfortable bed with air conditioning, clean and well taken cared for communal areas, nice pools but a bit cold but a fantastic hangover cure lol. The food is fantastic and without wanting to big it up it is the quality of the food, the sauces and the deserts. For me the acid test is would I be happy paying a bill for my meal and the quality is worth paying for. Unfortunately the only fault is the buffet restaurant is so easy going it doesn't have a sense of occasion which is my only gripe but the food is worth the compromise.
The weather has been perfect, the choices of Drinks is good without being extensive with real Bailey, and the usual branded drinks. The cocktails are beautiful. The entertainment is good with staff who work really hard without hassling you if like us we want to chill and they can all sing and dance for a good evening entertainment show.
Ten minutes walk into Protaras down hill so remember what goes down must come up lol. Pool towels are easily changed in the spa without question and the sunbeds are comfortable with a soft cushioned topper.

We have just returned from a week stay at this resort. We had a lovely time and the weather was above 30°c everyday. The hotel is set across a steep gradient hill. The views are beautiful but it is set up like a small village. This is something anyone with accessibility issues should cobsider - it can get tiresome traveling around the resort.
Some key bits to consider.

Reception
Its a small reception, when we arrived we were greated by a young lady who was on her own. Once checked in she showed us to our room but we had to carry our own luggage to the room.
Rooms
Clean and average but also very spacious. Our room had a small area dedicated to a sink and microwave which is useful. The bathroom was quite cramped which is fine for 2 people sharing. The towels are quite small. The room needs to be kept cool all day as it can get very hot. It will take a while for the aircon to kick in.
Food & Drinks
The drinks are average. Cocktails are all extremely sweet and the alcohol balance could be better. Ice coffees are hit and miss. The buffet is good, they have a large range of salads, pasta and rice dishes with a few choices of cooked meats. There is food available at most times of the day across the buffet, meze and pool bar. It can get repetitive so I suggest breaking it up by visiting the strip or nearby restaurants.
Pool
There are two pools and also rooms with private pools. The waterpark pool is great for kids but the reception pool is nice and peaceful.
Gym and Spa
The gym is just a few cardio machines.
The spa is quite small but Antonis in the spa is extremely helpful. He has great experience and provides a wonderful service. I would highly recommend going for a scrub at the end of your holiday, it leaves your skin feeling lovely. I left feeling very relaxed.

All in all, a great holiday with family. Great place to keep children occupied all day!!

This hotel has the best of both worlds, it is located in a quiet area but just a 10 minute walk from the busy strip of Protarus - though this us up a bank which can be hard going when hot! Protarus itself has plenty of shops, bars & Resteraunt as well as a beautiful beach. I have visited Cyprus many times as I have family living there & Protarus is my favourite resort. The rooms in thus hotel are clean & spacious & whilst we stayed under all inclusive it was useful having a fridge & microwave. The beds were very comfortable & every room had either a terrace or balcony with furniture. Ask at reception for the safety deposit box key, it is free to use.
The food was varied & delicious, with the chefs working hard to restock food regularly, there were also a few speciailty evenings such as Mexican, Chinese & Italian nights. We also ate at yhe Mezze resteraunt which was fantastic with a set Mezze menu & lots of lovely dishes to try! During the day the main pool offered hot snacks plus there was a fridge with sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt & jelly. Drinks were very nice & plenty of variety with Keo & Estrella beers plus a variety of cocktails & other drinks. All of the staff were very friendly & helpful, one member of staff stood out - a lady called Andrea who usually worked on the bar area near reception, always jolly & friendly whilst working very hard!
There are 2 spacious pools, the quiet pool near reception which is ideal for swimming & relaxing, this is also near to a lovely large Jacuzzi & the spa & gym, the main pool tends to be a little busier & is more family orientated with a pool bar, small pool for toddlers with a duck slide, splash park, pool with bigger slides for age 6+ plus a large pool for swimming.
Cleaning at the hotel was efficient & thorough, rooms were cleaned & towels changed daily & sheets changed every few days. Towels for use at the pool are also provided & can be changed at the spa. The pools were super clean & I observed a pool cleaning company early on a morning ensuring the pool was always clean. At the end of each day all of the pool areas were thoroughly mopped down & the life guards used a fogger to spray every sun bed. In the Resteraunt there were good Covid measures in place with face masks being essential indoors (unless eating), plastic gloves required before self serving food & numbers of people in the food areas being monitored & controlled by a barrier.
Managers were always visible & checked everything was okay on a regular basis, we had no issues during our stay, but I'm sure if we did they would have resolved any issues.
I would love to return to this hotel & am sure I will at some point!!

Travelled as a group of 3 adults & 3 kids (6, 6 & 2 yrs).
Arrived very late but was extremely impressed to be told there was food waiting for us in the fridges in our rooms, which was a really nice touch (sandwiches, apple, crackers & cheese).

Rooms: I was extremely impressed with the room-fair sized lounge/Kitchen area with fridge, separate bedroom with a huge bed, bathroom & large balcony area. Rooms were absolutely spotless. Maids cleaned every day and did a great job. Air conditioner included in the price & worked well.

Pools: 2 main pools for our bigger kids, both large. Nice to have the waterslides as well which we enjoyed.
The splash pool was great for our 2yr old and the other kids actually spent quite a bit of time in here playing as well. Activities for adults and kids in the pool, mainly water aerobics & water polo for the kids although there were a few other bit and bobs throughout the week. Both big pools are 1.4m so we were glad we bought armbands/life vests with us.

Food: Excellent. Buffet style. So much choice. A different theme every evening (Greek, Mexican, Italian etc). There were lots of hot dishes, cold salads and condiments and an excellent range of puddings. Food was replenished regularly so if something ran out you didn’t have to wait for long.
Breakfast again had an excellent choice.

Entertainment: Entertainment for the kids was excellent. The entertainment team were fantastic and did a great job. The older kids attended the kids club a few mornings and joined in with the mini disco and evenings entertainment which was aimed at both kids and adults. The team also did activities during the day in addition to the kids clubs such as the water polo, kids darts, table tennis etc.

The resort in general was beautifully kept- flowers etc looked lovely. All the staff around the resort were really friendly. We didn’t use the shuttle bus to the beach as we met friends at Green Bay (which I would recommend as a great place to snorkel with young kids, cost 25 euros in a taxi).

I would definitely recommend this resort to those looking for a fun family holiday with plenty to do for the kids, great food and great accommodation.

Just back from an amazing 4 day stay at Louis St Elias what can I say?. I went with my family and friends (4 x adults and 3 x children ages 8, 5 and 5. We had an amazing experience from the moment we walked in right up until the moment we left. We booked in all reception staff were very friendly welcoming and professional we were taken to our room (junior suite) which was spotlessly clean and very roomy with a beautiful view. We quickly unpacked and went to the pool (again spotless). Our children loved the slides the lifeguards were fantastic very friendly and helpful. Plenty of sunbeds all 2 meters distance apart. The drinks menu was great and again bar staff were very professional friendly and helpful. We honestly didn't think it could get any better till we went for dinner that night there was an extensive range of food (different theme every day). We never had the same lunch or dinner once breakfast was always well stocked with lots to choose from. There was the correct covid restrictions in place and was very well managed. The waiting staff were amazing with the children and very very attentive. The manger of the restaurant was lovely and always had time for a chat. Of an evening sat in the bar the staff were brilliant and plenty of choice for drinks. I also had a facial and a massage whilst at the hotel and once again cannot fault it. We've had a really lovely and will be booking again to go back very soon. Well done Louis St Elias and thank you what a fantastic hotel and a brilliant team running it. Everything was perfect and in the current situation we couldn't of asked for a better holiday

I'm not sure, the hotel is elevated on the hills overlooking Protarus, we had a distant (2 to 3 mile) view and were at the back of the hotel, rooms lower down at the start of the complex wouldn't have a view.
