Located right at the gates to the dunes park which ensures no extra travelling after what will be an already early start for the sunrise drive. Hotel Reception will organise a breakfast hamper, complete with cutlery, tea & coffee flasks, fruit, cheese, ham & tablecloth, to take out on the road to eat at your leisure rather than a hurried...

We loved our recent stay at Sussusvlei, from the minute we arrived. After a long, sweltering journey along miles of dusty gravel roads, we really appreciated the warm welcome and the delicious cool drinks that were brought to us. We were given a helpful introduction to the lodge and a quick tour, and then taken to our "tent" rooms -...

It is a nice lodge close to the park. Rooms are ok (no airconditioning) clean. Food is average for this kind of a lodge.

The generally positive reviews of this lodge are spot on. It is a very good place. The "tent-style" room was well appointed. It was not a tent in the strict sense, as the bathroom, foyer and verandah areas consist of a free-standing cement structure, with a canvas sleeping area in between. But, given how much I dislike camping, I was...

Some guide books say "You'll either love this place or hate it" and I was glad to find that we loved it! As others have said the hotel is located right next to the park gates and fuel station in Sesriem allowing you to be dune bound straight after sunrise. Although the hotel is of a fair size our room...

Sossusvlei lodge is the closest lodge to the park and therefore ideally placed to get in and see the dunes before the heat becomes intense, The chalet tents are very comfortable and the food was excellent. There are jackels outside which come up to the perimeter wall when you are eating dinner Al fresco, but they cannot get near to...

We had intended to stay two nights here, however ,as we were delayed leaving Gatwick Airport we actually arrived very early in the morning of our second day. Although only the security staff were around, they were expecting us and we were still able to check in and head to bed. The room was an individual lodge seperate from the...

My family stayed three nights at Sossusvlei Lodge and it was a very pleasant place to stay. We had nice rooms at the edge of the hotel site, which meant that we had uninterrupted views from our rooms (worth asking for if you are booking). We liked the buffet-style meals, and particularly enjoyed the large variety in the evenings. The...

Stayed for 2 nights after travelling from Windhoek. As a previous reviewer stated it is a long drive on gravel but not at all difficult and a stunning drive. The accomodation is very comfortable with a good bathroom and very comfortable bedroom with a terrace at the back overlooking the desert - beautiful sunsets. We found the staff pleasant and...

We booked 2 nights, but left after the first night due to several problems we experienced, which is not normal for a 5* lodge at R 2,083,- ( US$ 300.-)per night: We could not eat a-la-carte, only buffet; Staff was very lazy and only had interest in hanging out together chatting; When we arrived the evening before we also did...
