First lodge of our trip, we went there for 2 night. Amazing location, with super view on the desert. Staff friendly and cleaned space BUT -We left pocket in our room (not in the safety box and we lost 150 euros). Not admissible -a/c working but not refrigerating (old system?) - you should provide water to your guest, it's not a cheap accomodation and we found free water in every other place we slept in -food is not that good. Leftover of dinner served for breakfast, fish overcooked and the way they offer food (a lot of in buffet ) is really such a waste of food.

Dear Ilaria, Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed our amazing location, superb view of the Desert and the friendly service you received from our staff! Our air-conditioners are regularly serviced and working as best as any system can in the extreme Desert heat. We will never serve left-over food from dinner for breakfast! It is clearly stated in all descriptions that we serve buffet meals - understandably it is not everyone's liking. Our apologies for the overcooked fish - you are always welcome to ask for a new serving to be prepared to your preference... It is a pity that you did not report anything about stolen money whilst at the Lodge? At least then we could have investigated it properly - now it is just a statement you make without any proof? Best wishes, The Sossusvlei Lodge Team

We stayed 2 nights and had two very nice chalets with a great view, we were also close enough to the outside lounge a pool area to pick up the WIFI (very important for some!). The lodge is quite big compared to others we stayed but the only time that was obvious was during breakfast which got a bit crowed and staff had issues replenishing the buffet in time. During the rest of the time you had plenty of loungers around the pool and other relaxation areas. Dinner offered plenty of choice (show cooking BBQ style) for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Table service for drinks was efficient. Staff in the rest of the hotel including the “activity” office were “OK” but the service was far below the standard we witnessed in other lodges, probably due to the size and the membership of a chain. This lodge has the unique advantage that it is located next to the entrance of the Park and hence is every convenient to visit the dunes early in the morning.

It is a good joice if you like to stay next to the park entry and/or like to flight over the dunes and the Namib. The lodge has a normal standard, food is good, rooms are good and clean. As in most lodges the WIFI is only at the bar/reception.

We had our first sundowner experience in Africa at the Sossusvlei Lodge (it was an add on) and absolutely loved it. The wildlife including the largest bird nest that looked more like a condo complex was great, but the sundowner was the real treat - great drinks and snacks while watching one of the best sunsets ever. Everyone has their own private cabin that is comfortable with a large shower and prep area. Wake up call is a knock on the door - another first - making the whole experience special. The meals were great with plenty of game meat available. To my amazement, my wife said she loved the "ostrich" and wanted a second helping. I actually have a hard time describing the setting which was lovely, but to me, the feelings of relaxation, calmness, and just raw beauty can only be absorbed by being there. Thank you to the welcoming people of Sossusvlei!

Great location, right next to the park entrance. Rooms were nicely done and lovely views out to the desert. Bonus to see animals coming through the lodge and at waterhole Negatives, it has a lot of coach parties that nominate breakfast and dinner. The service was not so good (particularly bar staff) as in other lodges around Namibia, this maybe related to the large groups.

The chalets are situated amongst lovely grounds and our one was right on the edge of the dessert with lovely views not impeded by other chalets. The food was plentiful, buffet, with freshly cooked meat of your choice. I did hear one other guest say he felt intimidated by the large queues and I could understand what he meant as there were many many guests. The rooms were generous with a marvellous bathroom and the staff polite and friendly

Our stay here was magic. Location is stunning and the chalet was divine and well appointed. Food and service excellent, to the extent that the sandstorm was catered for. Tour and guide to Deathvlei and the many big dunes was a great experience.

The lodge was a great place to unwind after a drive and climb at the dunes. The individual lodge type room was comfortable and sufficient. We were able to see a few oryx roaming about just outside our private entrance deck. There is also a watering hole on the property which is lit up at night but we personally did not witness any animals there. There is outside seating in the bar area and it is a great place to unwind and look at the sunset and again the oryx. The dinner buffet held outdoors (still warm enough in July) was one of the best. The seating is reserved and well co-ordinated by the staff. There were grilling stations for meat which included some game, a grilling station for fish as well as a section for stir fry with noodles. The salad and dessert bars were generous and had a good variety of selections. The breakfast buffet is also very good (indoors due to cold temp) with ample selection as well as an eggs "your way" cooking station.
