I provided a complete list of feedback to Llewellyn on site...
Kindly just check with him?
Check that windows are cleaned properly.
Phone in room did not work.
Please put blind at front door to keep the light from there to wake one up early morning
Consider offering Poolside picnic baskets to the room so that one does not necessarily have to go to the main area to eat.
No olives for Martini's one evening at the bar, though there are plenty in salads?
E-bike I rented...battery went flat and had to paddle back all the way....please check properly charged prior to renting out.
Loved the stay anyway!

I don't have words to fully describe my experience but it is a very beautiful place. I loved the privacy behind the rooms, waking up to that beautiful view, the food (creating my own pizza) and the cleanliness. Definitely worth it. I would fully recommend.

The drive to the Desert Grace is long but one needs to stop at the pink Fridge where one can find a ice cold juice. What a surprise and a great view.
Once you reached the Lodge you again are welcomed be the receptions with a pick ice slushy.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are a huge surprise as well. One finds all the amenities like a stocked fridge, a coffee station and a USB radio. Rooms are huge and a lovely view of the Dunes. Each rooms has its own swimming pool and an outside shower which is nice and private.

Bar is unique where one can even find cocktails and popcorn. Food is amazing with 3 different stations one have a huge variety to choose from (not that I really am a huge fan of Buffet as once always eats way too much )
I love the Ice Cream station with the home made peanut butter ice cream. Breakfast is also wow. Again one has 3 stations.

I enjoyed my stay even if one night is not enough.

Thank you very much to all the Staff at the Desert Greace

The food served at the meat roasting section was very cold. Only the meat roasted was hot. (naturally).

Suggestion: Cast/pave a walkway at the back of where the vehicles park so that one can push the luggage trolley up the the rear end of the vehicle. Will also make possible pulling your suitcase on a paved strip up to the reception area. As it is now, a (heavy) suitcase has to be carried or plowed through the pebbles/gravel to the trolley parked at reception.

I think the breakfast side food was also rather cold, but cannot say for sure. Eggs done was warm.

After taking the interesting drive to the lodge from the main road past the pink fridge on the hill the welcome left much to be desired. Unprepared and unfriendly staff put a dampner on our arrival. However, after the long walk to the room our breath was taken away by the attention to detail in the rooms..... a huge amount of thought was put in and well done for that. Room, bathroom, patio, private pool and all the little things left one with a WOW!
With the oppressive heat we were happy to share time between the air conditioned cool of the room, a little tanning and a cool off in the pool.....
Food was well thought out and offered great options for young and old.
Bar and restaurant service was great.
The young general manager is a breath of fresh air and her enthusiasm and bubbly personality will no doubt positively rub off on all who visit The Desert Grace.
Most enjoyable stay - we will be back.

Stunning lodge and gorgeous rooms with breathtaking views. Very tastefully decorated with several nice little touches all over. Staff were amazing and super friendly and always helpful, especially Esmé at front desk. Food was excellent with a wide selection for any taste and dietary preference. Each room has its own completely private pool and outside shower overlooking beautiful sandy plains and red dunes where you might see the odd oryx wandering about. A little piece of heaven for any couple looking for a romantic, secluded getaway. Massive bed with luxurious bedding and fluffy towels. Would definitely recommend the sun downer drive and bringing along a good book to read while relaxing next to the pool. Lodge is about 1h30min drive to Sossuvlei and the Dead Vlei, which is a must-see in Namibia.

Lodge and rooms are beautiful! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Dining room not well ventilated at dinnertime. Doors were closed due to cold weather and smoke from burner became unbearable.
Our room was not serviced - no one informed us that we had to put a sign on the door for it to be serviced.

The Desert Grace is one of the Gondwana Collection’s premium lodges. We were there for two days and also enjoyed a dune / sundowner cruise on the second day after returning from our Sossusvlei excursion. For a lodge with this price tag I found the standard of maintenance a little below par. Staff was completely (restaurant staff, guides, reception staff) untrained although friendly and helpful. It took a full 40 minutes to prepare 2 poached- and fried eggs (both days). On the second day, dinner was definitely substandard (fillet 2nd grade). As I have said, with the associated price tag, all 3 aspects that I mentioned are completely unacceptable. Positive is the privacy and location of the Desert Grace.

Dear Horst Thank you very much for taking your time to provide us with feedback. We will forward this message to our ground staff and lodge manager in order to review the maintenance done and standard of our Gondwana lodges. During this time, our lodges in the South are mostly fully booked and we try our very best to maintain our customer service and hospitality promise to our guests. We are grateful to be able to improve on our overall product offering and hope to be your host again, sometime. Kind regards The Gondwana Collection Team

This was my inaugural desert experience! We were greeted by Jone with a welcome drink and orientation. Jone became my “go to girl” but a more accurate description is a sweet spirited young lady who facilitated getting my request completed as promised. We stayed in 7 South. Our bungalow was not close to the reception but had decent wifi. The space is well decorated and roomy. You have a private plunge pool and outdoor shower. There is also a patio with chairs as well as a cafe set in the front to enjoy the outdoors. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant. The staff was always super friendly and warm. They inquired about the activities of our day and engaged us with a warm smile and pleasant conversation. The food was a great quality with a good variety of meats, veggies, starches, made to order pizzas, desserts etc. We did several excursions- the sundown dune tour and trip to Soussusvlei. Both excursions were good and offered a great way to spend the day. I would not hesitate to recommend Desert Grace. Other staff that made our stay memorable were Marlon, Francis, the housekeeping staff and all the ladies in the restaurant including the chef who came out one night to greet us.

Great location. Staff involved with meals were ill prepared for the restrictions with Covid. Quality of food over weekend went from very bad on Friday night to decent by Sunday morning. Coffee from Jura machine was charged extra at breakfast, which i find odd when rate was BB.
