Anli were able to help us on very short notice. The rooms were clean, breakfast delicious, staff very friendly and the atmosphere relaxing. One of the most beautiful sunsets ever seen! Thank you and will see you again soon.

We booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child, and the booking system forced us into the executive suite (at the back, away from the sea). It was more expensive than we would have liked, but the spa bath was a big attraction. The room seemed a bit dark (it was an overcast day), but things improved when we opened the balcony door - the sound of the waves breaking on the beach was lovely, as was the sea smell. The bathroom was great - with a spare basin for my daughter to use to wash her shells! Whilst you can easily walk to the beach from the hotel, it is quite far from the main shopping area. The breakfast was great - complete with a freshly brewed cappuccino. The manager was very helpful as were other staff members.

This is a lovely guest house with excellent position, facilities, friendly staff, good breakfast and easy/safe parking.
But - it has a few flaws. Firstly, the rooms have glass doors and all light from the common areas (like the corridor) flood into the rooms, making it impossible to get darkness in your room to sleep in. Also, when other guests switch the lights on an off during the night, the change in light in your room wakes you up...
Then - the rooms are not sound insulated at all and you hear every little noise from the guests in the adjacent rooms. So - if the guest in the room next to you uses the bathroom or takes a shower at 05h00, then you will definitely be woken up as well from the noise.
Lastly, the owner of the guesthouse is a rude and arrogant man and he stayed in the guesthouse with his girlfriend and other friends as well during my last visit and they made a lot of noise. When we complained about the noise he made with his friends during the middle of the night, his response was - " I can do what I want in my own guest house and if you dont like it, then I will give you your money back and you can leave immediately"...... apparently he stays there quite often, so the chance of receiveing this same treatment from him again is quite good.

I travelled with my husband to South Africa for a short holiday. The rooms were very nice, however not serviced during our 3 night stay, beds not made, toilet paper not replaced, etc.
Breakfast was served by the owner who was very unprofessional. Fantastic location right on the beach though. We felt unsafe in the guesthouse as the doors were not locked at night. Unfortunately I paid in advance, and could not leave. When I confronted the owner about his poor service and standards, he became very aggressive and refused to give our money back or even to give us some discount. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and was very disappointed as this was our last holiday together before our baby arrived in June this year. This was our worst accommodation experience ever.

My friend and I booked in and thought we were spoiling ourselves by booking the executive suite, thinking it must be lovely & luxurious. The owner had contacted me to ensure us that this room, although more expensive than we originally planned, was well worth it. Yes the room was bigger than the others as it has an extra bed. However the room is right at the back of the house and overlooks an empty plot & the ocean to the side (not my idea of a 'beachfront' guesthouse, where only one room actually faces the ocean) This could be overlooked however the dirty carpet & toothpaste stains in the basin could not. Sorry although all the staff were very friendly I did not find it value for money at all...

We booked the very special room at this hotel a week in advance, in person with the staff on our way up the West Coast and they entered it in the book. There was no other booking for the room. We only wanted the front room. On arrival on the Saturday we were told there was a mistake and we had to have a standard room. We were bitterly disappointed, especially as my husband was not well and had to lie down immediately. The room was tiny with not even a chair for me to sit on. On complaining bitterly I was told I had not left a cell phone number but I pointed out that I had offered but it went through Portugal. The only place for me to sit was on the front deck or in the lounge. It turned out that many of the owner's family were there for the weekend and I felt completely ignored as they took over the place. The music was very loud and we probably would not have been able to get to sleep in the front room. Breakfast was fine and the owner did arrange for some anti-biotics to be delivered for my husband but overall it was a most unpleasant experience and not one to be repeated. I felt the room we had was overpiced at Rand 850 for 2, B&B. Also like another contributor we ran out of toilet paper and had to seek out the staff to replace it.

I booked a double room through booking.com for the 10th of May 2016.
I had the guarantee that I may cancel free of costs before 7th May.
The hotel demanded a deposit of 50% and the price they gave me was higher than booking.com quoted. Booking.com had to intervene to get me the quoted price.I asked a South African friend, to pay the deposit for me because they also booked for the same night at the hotel.
Unfortunately we had to change our plans and I cancelled well before the 7th.
The hotel staff have been very unfriendly about the refund and after many phone calls and letters they offered to refund only R250 of the R1000.
I am very disappointed and I am going to take this matter further with booking.com
I am also going to visit all travel portals and write about this experience in detail
I thought one could trust an South African establishment like this as the reviews of the location was quite good. I am very disappointed about being cheated.

Towel rail faulty, TV faulty, door lock faulty, no ceiling light in dark passage, doubt that fitted sheet had been changed - had fine beach sand at foot end! The 'sofa' at the end of the bed was only fit for a toddler to sit on - part of a dolls house suite! New manageress tried her best to make amends. The owner needs to get things sorted out as the location is excellent.

I was highly disappointed the last time I stayed. Rooms were not clean on check-in (hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor). Room was also not serviced properly during my 3 night stay, and the tinted glass doors and corridor lights make for a lack of privacy and the sound from other guests echoes making for an uncomfortable nights rest. For such a lovely setting one would think a little more attention to detail would be given. Further, the rates had increased from those initially advertised. Not value for money and won't be returning.
