The rooms are quite clean and spacious, neighborhood quiet all you hear is the sound of the water from the ocean (you can't see it though). The overall service was good. Its not far from Cape Town, you can go there during the day and come back for your sleep. It's a good idea to bring/hire a car so you don't get inconvenienced (I did not see any public transport close by)

Our first ever getaway together, my three older brothers and their wives, stayed at the quaintly named Orange Inn. Maybe I chose it because orange is my favourite colour. I'm glad i did, because my family loved their rooms. They loved the common outdoor space at the swimming pool as well as the patios outside 2 of our bedrooms. All of us most of all appreciated Heilet's warm welcome and her honesty about the mould in the one bedroom's shower. Heilet prepared a delicious breakfast especially for us with our halaal and vegetarian requests. Thank you for making our first-ever getaway as siblings even more memorable.

Hi, We value your review and thank you for choosing and staying over at Orange Inn Melkbosstrand. We chose the name partly because the owners are Dutch, and Dutch sports are all played wearing orange. Hope to see you again the future. The Orange Inn Team

The stay was comfortable although a bit out of the way I intended to stay at. Very friendly and homely staff. No hot water during my last two days of stay. The room I booked was not the room I got as per the website pictures. A suggestion; microwave and cutlery in rooms would be great.

We found the Orange Inn a very nice place indeed. All the COVID protocols were adhered to. The room was sparkling clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was simple but tasty and well prepared. We appreciated the safe parking a the rear of the accommodation.

Wonderful and friendly reception by Anne-Marie. The room was clean, and bedding good. Shower and bathroom up to standard. Parking under cover, and because the facility is in a residential area, safe as well.Thank you. Eric + Charlene

Stayed at the Orange Inn in February. I accidently bumped into a parking area post, not damage to the car but apparently the post damaged. The route cause of the accident was their own fault, extremely risky parking layout and poor lighting. They handled this very poorly and to say the least were very rude.

Also the rooms were not very wonderful and facilities have a cold hostel feel.

Definitely wont recommend them, there are lots of much better guesthouses to use in the area.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for your experience at Orange Inn Melkbosstrand and that the rooms were not to your liking. We do feel that we want to highlight the following as per your review: The incident happened during the day time. Poor lighting was not a factor. The shade netting poles are demarcated with yellow reflective tape for night-time. See the incident here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So2lVNvr3w8. You also did not report the incident as it happened and drove away. Regards, The Orange Inn Team.

Had a fantastic stay at Weskus guest house. It was exactly what we were looking for, we have spent the last week travelling around and we now wanted to relax & be looked after. Ann Marie was so welcoming & provided for our every need, she made us feel like Weskus was a home away from home without being overbearing & giving us space to relax.
Weskus is a great sized guest house each room either has a balcony or verandah opening out onto a beautiful manicured garden & pool, there are also Braai (BBQ) available for the guests use by the pool. The bed was really comfortable (our main concern when booking a hotel), the room also had a fridge, tea/coffee facilities, LCD TV & Air con.

You are with reach of all that the Western Cape has to offer. Table View, Robben Island. We took a lovely day trip to Franschhoek & Stellenbosch to visit the Giiraffe house, Lion Park & Butterfly world.

The beach at Melkbosstrand has a great atmosphere, we had a great evening eating at Damhuis while the sunset into the Atlantic. There are also lovely restaurants at Blouberg, we ate at Moyo, having ate at Moyo in Stellenbosch we were disappointed in the food but the venue is so lovely & quirky I was certainly recommend a visit.

All in all Weskus was a lovely place and great value for money, we will definitely stay there again.

We were using the Orange Inn as a waystop but enjoyed the stay for its own sake. The property is very modern and the use of the orange colour theme throughout is fun. Lots of quite upmarket art and curios for a low budget property. Very enjoyable pool patio. Welcoming staff and fresh cooked breakfast. Only a few more electrical sockets would help. The Inn is on the edge of the town but the town is small, so if you are energetic you could probably walk to the - excellent - few seafront restaurants.

We visited Orange inn for a week. Enjoyed our stay at first. But then we got asked about everything that went wrong at the Inn, basically insinuating we were at fault. Firstly the electricity tripped and we were asked what we did with the pool's creepy. The next day the front gate battled to open or close, where my husband was asked what he did to it. The next day we relaxed next to the pool, as I leaned over to kiss my partner, the elderly lady screamed from the balcony that it was not allowed in front of her. On day 4 I got food poising, on day 5 the yogurt and milk was sour and my partner got food poising. On Xmas day we braaied and was planking to do so again on Boxing Day. But on Xmas day the lady told the cleaning lady to leave at noon and was only going to pay her half day, because the old lady needed to go out for the day. We left our plates and cutlery behind the reception desk as we had no access to the kitchen to wash them, note was there any staff since noon that day to take them. The next day when we wanted to braai, all the large plates was removed from the dining room, I believe deliberately because we left dirty plates. So we, and another couple had to eat out of small saucers. The next morning the old lady said we didn't arrange with her and therefore there was no large plates. The facilities is good but I felt like it was a boarding school and we & the cleaning staff were not treated the best way you would expect from an accommodation provider charging the rates they do. I am sure the old lady has a good heart but she spoiled it for us. I would suggest the owners call all their December holiday guests as they will find the same feedback from others who might be more reserved to review here honestly, as 3 other couples complained to us during our stay.

The parking is shadeport on the street, a residential area does not make it a crime free area. the building has electric fence but your vehicle stands in the street, under shadenet for 4 cars??? R150.00 per night to park in the "work area" space permitting. Breakfast poor, no services, find it yourself and very little choice. We had to ask, twice, for an invoice after being compeled to pay cash, no card facility and EFT not applicable if not fully paid before arrival. Hostess send school child to open the gate, when we left.
To be told " if you mess anything that may stain the bedding you can take it with you and pay me for new bedding" is not appropriate. Beds good quality. Pity the complimentary shower gel is not enough for a single was.

Dear Guest We are disappointed to read of your bad experience with us. As advertised on our website, we offer off street parking that is not on the property itself. We acknowledged your concern regarding expensive equipment on vehicle and accommodated you accordingly. Unfortunately at a small fee. We offer a standard nutritious breakfast compiled over years of experience, and in accordance to preferences to the majority of our guests. It sometimes happens that guests decide to lay in for a few minutes longer and that the bacon and egg become tasteless after a while on the hot tray. We are a family owned guesthouse. As it happens, it is sometimes necessary to ask our children to welcome our guests and make them comfortable at the reception. Being a Bed and Breakfast, we advise our guests not to enjoy any meals in the rooms itself, but rather in the designated area. We do not have card facilities as advertised on all travel agencies websites as well as our own. Amenities are replaced on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we had to implement some basic house rules. This is mere an effort from our side to protect our property as well as to ensure a safe and relaxing stay for our guests.
