In the beginning of November 2014 I stayed at Danforth Lodge for 6 nights, together with a group of divers. From the first moment, when the owner picked us up at Lilongwe airport, I felt like staying with friends. The lodge is a very neat and tidy comfortable family-run place. The few guestrooms are spacy and clean, cozy without needless...

From the moment of our arrival to the moment of our departure, we felt total tranquility at this lovely lakeside resort. Our 15 year old daughter loved changing her reading spot - from hammock to poolside to the 'tree house.' Diving, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, cycling - no opportunity to get bored, yet every opportunity to have a restful holiday. Owner-Michelle,...

We were returning to Malawi after +25 years, with our daughter who was in Malawi for her first time. Danforth did not exist then, and we were delighted when Safari Consultants booked this for us. We stayed three nights, and enjoyed the host Howard's company and the team there. We went on a snorkeling trip, and on the catamaran for...

After reading many tripadvisor reviews on accommodation in the area we decided to book at Danforth. We are so glad we did and our only regret is we did not have the time to stay longer. The accommodation is delightful including comfortable mattresses and pillows (something that was lacking through Malawi and Zambia). The food is exceptional including gluten free...

a third trip to Danforth for me and always a great experience - excellent hosts in Michelle and Howard and their friendly and efficient staff, a consistently high standard. An incredibly beautiful spot on the lake, lovely clear water, plenty to do with scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, skiing and tubing and an evening cruise on Sunday night to feed...

A group of us flew in and occupied the whole lodge for 3 nights. We were so well looked after from the moment we were collected at Monkey Bay Airtsrip. Amazing trip aboard "Mufasa" from Monkey Bay to the lodge -what a treat! Superb hospitality, all the staff were so friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable,...

Such a gem on the Lake! We were fortunate to be able to fly once again to Danforth with more friends this time and what a wonderful weekend we had! From landing at Monkey Bay strip sailing on Mufasa from the harbour round to the lodge with lunch on board, to kyaking, hobie sailing, skiing, tubing snorkelling and diving, a...

We, a family with a 14 and 16 year old spent 2 nights at the Lodge and then 6 nights on the Yacht Mufasa sailing up the lake to Likoma Island during August. What a totally relaxing time we had. We were well looked after from the moment we landed in Lilongwe. On arrival at the Lodge I had been...

I was travelling on my own, on a personal odyssey to the country of my childhood. This was the last of my 4 stops after 8 days and over 800 kilometers of self-drive. It needed to be the most luxurious as a reward for my efforts ! It is certainly that. Howard & Michelle have worked so hard to get...
